What's funny is that my dad just informed me that Cinco de Mayo isn't even celebrated in Mexico.
Haha, my World History teacher told me about this before you.
The sad part is that I didn't even know what it meant until he wrote it on the board and I was like, five...of.....may....OH! *slaps self*
"I don't know much about Cinco de Mayo, I'm never sure what it's all about."
That's from a Cake song.
That reminds me I have to buy taco shells this afternoon. Thanks Strider! :smash:
You dont buy shells, Hooters! You buy corn torillas and fry them up! You ignorant person! *kills*
Yeah I'm surprised my neighborhood isnt celebrating, it's mostly Hispanic/Chicano/Latino/whatever I'm supposed to call them. Oh wait, I hear some mariachi music down the street, I think it's starting.
Anyway, thanks Juan. I always knew it wasnt the indepence day, but I always got confused as to what it really was. Now I have this lovely thread. Yay.
I say we all pile into the back of an old pickup truck and drive around to all the construction sites volunteering to work!
Whoa, I really hadn't known what the holiday was about. There was a big celebration on my campus today though. They had the cafeteria all decked out and all the workers dressed up. I thought they had decided to celebrate Halloween early or something, heh.
I'd never heard of Cinco De Mayo before. I thought it sounded like some kind of circus troupe, like Cirque Du Soleil. o_o;;
I feel all informed now. Thanks for the info. =)
To me, it's just something that's really fun to say. :)
