do you have to use vaan in battle (like u had to do with cloud in ff7) or can you change him out for another character instead (such as tidus from ff10)? and if u use balthier do you have to use fran as well? i wouldnt think so but all this partner stuff im hearing about maybe s.e. tried something new again.
-
I'm pretty sure you can switch Vaan out if you have enough members in the party at the time. I have heard that you can't even die unless every one of your members die, supposedly if one of them dies they will get filled in with another character automatically, although I'm not fully sure about this. And to Lon611, YES, this game looks and plays INCREDIBLE and so far the story is looking very very very promising. I think this will be a great asset to the series.

thats good to hear :) makes me sad that i have to wait a year
-
oooooooooooooooooo i cant wait to get this game.            i cant wait any longer

Hmm, definitely warming to that battle system. What you no doubt lose in terms of the trademark 'swish' and victory fanfare, I'm sure you gain in battles not being annoying :p
It must be great if you want to walk across the screen and check something out, knowing exactly how many (if any) battles you're going to have to go through first.
-
Yeah, the battle system is undoubtedly awesome. I was in love with it, makes things feel alot more realistic.
-
I want FFXII! I will take my anger out on smilies. :twak: :trout: :shoot:
-
well at least you have star ocean and should have dragon quest VIII, ff dawn of souls and advent children to enjoy during your lengthy wait :) .

hey, i was thinking...we all know about this crazy active dimension battle system (or whatever its called) and i don't really know nething about the leveling up system. is it gonna be levels?or something kewl and amusing like the sphere grid?wat about job classes (please no)?does ne1 know ne info on this?

It's seems like the game is pretty much done, so why is it not being released for over a year?
And I just have to say, you are so lucky...I want to play it. :/
-
Nah, just because they had a demo that was playable doesn't mean the game is anywhere near done, for all we know that could have been the _only_ scenes totally done, and even those may change with the release of the game. Says so right when the disc booted up.
It will be a system of levels, you will have an actual numerical level, how skills are acquired I'm not sure, I would guess by level, but again, I don't know.

a question
do characters have a limit break, trance, overdrive or anything like that.
-
Is there an on screen map like in FFX and such? I really liked those, helps me out a lot, lol
-
As for limit breaks, I would say a pretty definate "probably" I didn't see any in the demo, but I'm almost positive they wouldn't leave an overdrive-type feature out.
As for the on-screen-map, yes there is one. In fact you can set options pertaining to it. Some of them include the ability to make it rotate with you or stay in a fixed perspective for sense of direction. Pretty cool stuff.

Yay! This makes my day! :D
