The word "Pop" always seems so Southern to me. I call it Soda, as pretty much everyone else in NY does.
Generally, everyone in my family calls it by the brand name. But I usually call it pop, cause soda mean soda water (so gross).
I grew up saying Pop, but everyone here says Soda, and I've picked it up.
I hate Southerners who call everything "coke". >o
Soda bread is quite heavy/compact :p Pop bread sounds stupid :p
My parents call it by the brand name. But we dont often drink 'soft drinks', so yaknow.
I'm sure an EoFF like situation has come up but I really can't remeber. *giggle*
Chaos
Both.
Fizzy Drink.
Yeah, fizzy drink, fizzy or soft drink all work for me. More often than not, though, I just say the specific name of whatever drink it is, eg. Coke, Fanta, Pepsi, Tango, etc.Quote:

And out of the two, soda is certainly the correct one. WTF is 'pop'? What's so poppy about it? It's a water-based beverage with CO2 -> soda.
I just call it a softdrink or by its brand name, but my parents call it Coke no matter what brand it is.
Everyone I know calls it soda pop. Or maybe just soda. Occasionally just pop.
Around here, I don't think anyone really cares. Which is why I don't usually partake in the Soda vs. Pop threads.
I'm drinking pop right now.
It would seem that Soda is winning....
Its soda bitches...get it right.
Actually I dispise "pop" because I never heard people call it that till I came here to hell...for all my life I always called it soda, as did everyone I was ever around. :D
On TV and crap I always here it called soda too. Anything that represents Oklahoma to me I dispise...and calling soda "pop" is one of those things...ugh.
