They probably hung his corpse :D
why should I pay for firecrackers when 1) All the awesome ones are now illegal, and 2) both of my neighbours celebrated Guy Fawkes for me, and 3) We don't really have effigies here anyway?
Dammit, now I want to watch Home Alone.
he was going to be, but when he saw his comrades being hung drawn and quatered he thought bugger that! and broke his own neck. Ironic really since his was driven by his catholic beliefs and his last act sent him to hell.Quote:

HE WAS FRAMED!
If it had worked we'd all have been under conservitive rule for the last 50+ years...
I'm not sure if thats a good or a bad thing, I suppose we'd still have Margret Thatcher in power :P
Considering that it happened in the early 1600's in order to kill a King who hated Catholics, I don't think so Baloki :p
(PS: It would be an extremely good thing, but Maggie wouldn't be in power now anyway, as she's too old.)
You can't prove nothin'!Quote:

^_^ Wow...I didn't think I'd get a debate goin on here! lol neat!
anyways...I was going around my school asking if people knew what Guy Fawks day was (l lived in England for 1/2 me life and now I'm stuck in America). I was suprised to find out how many people didn't even know what parliament was! 0__o
I think that's how it is with most holidays. In Slovakia, there is a holiday on 17 November- it's a memory of a revolucion that got us separated from the komunistic reign, and almost noone does know what it is about althoug it didn't happen so long ago. It's sad how ignorant most people are to such things.
