I've suddenly remembered that Sonic 2 was released on the Master System. Goodness me, I hated that game. The zones were pathetic, the difficulty curve was just stupid and the graphics were even worse than a standard Master System game.
Sonic 1 for the Master System was okay, though. I suppose.

I didn't like Sonic. It was rubbish compared to Mario but sadly, my Parents bourght me a MegaDrive instead... Ristar was far greater than Sonic. I long for a new Ristar game...

Oooh I just love the original Sonic games. I own them all on the megadrive. Well 1, 2, 3, S&K and Spinball. All the ones that matter. ^_^
My favourite..probably 2 overall because of the introduction of Tails, and I enjoyed most of the levels. I like Sonic 1 a lot too though. My favourite zone in Sonic 1 is probably Marble Zone, and Starlight Zone also but mostly for the music in that one ^^
In Sonic 2, umm..ooh I don't know. I liked a lot of the zones. Chemical Plant because it just felt so fast. Casino Night because yeah the gambling was addictive xD I hate underwater zones. I like the first zone in Sonic 3 a lot and I love the bonus levels, (the ones with the red and blue balls). They are my favourite bonus levels from any Sonic game. But then the level with water annoys me. I love being able to fly with tails though. I need to have a better go at Sonic 3 anyway, I forgot to use the Save file last time.
Sonic and Knuckles on it's own I never played much and I bought it the other day, but I had game over by the second zone. xD Seems hard to me.
I rather enjoyed the first level of Spinball but never got further than that.
I love just playing Sonic 1 really slowly sometimes, trying to get everything from the level. Last weekend I kept replaying the first zone over and over to get 200 rings. But then by the time I get to spring yard zone I usually stop playing. xD
I really wanna sit down and try and complete either 1 or 2 properly one of these days...
Yeah Sonic games are one of my favourite games series ever. <3 to Rainecloud for sending me Sonic 3, and <3 to Lindsey for sending me sonic 2 =D I only have the boxes for 2 and Spinball though...oh well.

All this talk is making me crave some Sonic gaming. I'm going to go buy the collection tonight.
I'll give Sonic Adventure 2 some credit. The levels you play as Sonic and Shadow are pretty fun, since it's basicly a 3D version of the original Sonic games (still not as good), but the scavenger hunts you do as Knuckles and the bat girl are boring and sometimes frusterating. The robot levels as Tails and "Eggman" are also lame. You don't even get to play as Tails outside of that stupid robot.
I forgot about the Game Gear Sonic game. That one sucked, but hey, it was on Game Gear, what else would you expect? ;)

Sonic 2 for me. The best level was the last one were you face metal sonic and that big machine

Sonic CD for the Sega CD rocked. The level structures and the number of levels and the soundtrack owned. Such an awesome game, it's too bad that the Sega CD didn't have any memory so you can save data, because that was on long game.
-
Sonic and Knuckles teaming up! Who could beat that pair? Sonic 3 all the way.
-
the Sega CD wasnt released up here for some reason so all i got was the RoM version
-
As well as being great fun to play, the early Sonic games had some great background music. Star Light Zone from the first game is a good example, but there are quite a few, actually.
-
i liked sonic adventure 2 for the dreamcast but SA 1 sucked i enjoyed sonic heroes as it was challenging
-
Really?
I thought the first one was pretty good. As for heroes, never tried it.
-
I'd have to say that Sonic 3 is my favorite game in the series. The Adventure games are reasonably fun, but overall, subpar.
-
I have never played the Adventure series. Are they out for PS2?

Both Adventure games were rereleased for the GameCube with various added features. The first game also got a graphics makeover, since it was originally made in 1999.
