may i suggest the official guide to the game it tells you all and you need to work your way down through the levels (long time) try to avoid mega tonberry

Hop down the mushroom rocks. Notice how the map keeps going down and looks different from ffx?

actually I think you have to get a sphere from there in the first chapter to go there. . . but hit O as you try to go down there-- I may be wrong:) There's some treasures anyways.
