I really do need to read some of his work one of these days. This news came as a huge shock to me, and I'm still rather bothered by it.

Fear and Loathing On the Campaign Trail is the work of a genius, absolutely brilliant stuff. The world seems to be losing one great writer after another but like TheAbominatrix already mentioned, I think he felt it was his time to go, and so he chose to do it on his own terms.

Rest in Peace, Sir. Wherever you are, I hope you're causing a ruckus.
