But first, what is 'birthday'? Miriam-Webster's dictionary defines it as
'1 a : the day of a person's birth b : a day of origin
2 : an anniversary of a birth'
So from this, we can discover that your birthday is the same day you were born in, but a different year. Each 'birthday' means that one year has past since your previous birthday (or birth). Which means that a 'birthday' is a celebration that one year has passed.
But why should we celebrate this though? Is this to do with religion, personal will, or something more? Could it be that we were placed on this planet with one purpose, and that was to celebrate on one day of each year, so that we achieve inner happiness. Whatever the reason, if you bothered to read this rubbish then you definately qualify to celebrate your birthday (whenever it is).
Happy Birthday my loverly CHACHACHA!!!
Old Manus, it is because we are foolish humans...
Actually it is like the Anniversary of the Creation of another life form. o_o
And of course, the people who are most happy are the people celebrating their own Anniversary of Birth. Self-Centered Fools... :mad2:
Damn, I'm late.
Happy B-day!
Happy Birthday!
:happybday
I hope your birthday is swell. Its the only day that I can let my guard down a little.
As far as you're concerned:Quote:

2. Birthday's are shamelessly recreational because they signify another year that we have been alive. More specifically, it's another year that we have evaded death. On this particular day, our lives are reset, in a way. If we die on our birthday, it's very nice; it's like we never died. So birthday's are celebrations of freedom and all that good stuff. We have all the fun we can because if we die before the next one, then it's going to be some sort of tragedy.
Of course, this doesn't apply to useless or retired people who can die unmourned any time.
