I made the flipant and crude remark because neatly laying out a bunch of inaaccurate and exaggerated facts doesn't realy deserve a decent answer. If there was any co-operation between the UK government and the loyalist paramilitarys it was on the level of information, never funding never supplying. As for bloody sunday, well the IRA did a damn good job of setting that up.

rather than ban the lot of you, which would be pretty dumb, I'm just going to close this thread. I think we can all just agree that Cuchulainn has more firsthand experience with the IRA and the conflict in NI since he lives in Belfast, and therefore he has a much more emotional tie to this discussion which is really tagential to the discussion of torture by American soldiers.
