I imagine the development of a robot will lead to something as portrayed in the anime "Patlabor". If you've not seen it, I pity you.

Essentially though, they'll be built for construction and the like until people start hijacking them for crime. Although I imagine they'd also make their way into the army.

Now, if they can armour it and improve its speed and balance - to the point where it can do at least 40 kph - then it might actually be useful somehow:p

1.5 kph is just fundamentally useless, unfortunately.

Oh, I read about that developing when I was 7. Nothing new.

I've heard about that. Apparantly it would probably fall over if you tried to get of the kurb of a street and it does more of a sliding/crawling motion than a walking motion. Imagine an ice skater in really slow motion and you'll get an idea.

Yeah, it would make a nice addition to Japan's Self-Defence Force arsenal.

Damn cool.
