PLaying FFVIII, I just felt that it was a huge beautiful story and no matter where they would end the story, I would always get that feeling inside my stomach that just makes me know that I NEED MORE STORY!!!
However, I was generally happy with the ending and I did particularly like the shooting star thing.
No i think it's just fine. I figured he died or sumthin. I almost reset the game during the credits though so i could have missed it.
To put it this way, the way the FF8 story was set up, I doubt any other ending would have worked. But personally, I preferred the more open ending of FF7 anyway.
I'll be the first to admit that I was blown away by FF8 when I first played it, but I was young(er) and it was my first FF, so anything would have impressed to be honest. And while FF8's ending now has worn off more or less completely, I can still watch FF7's ending without being bored.
I loved the ending. I can't think of anyway to make it better. And Squall was finally happy in the end.
yeah to see that big smile on Squalls face at the end, I was like  realy good way to end the story, I wish Laguna could have settled down with Raine but at least he seemed happy being reunited with Elone. In fact if I was Laguna Id go for Quistis.

I think maybe they could have somehow showed us how Laguna was squall's dad because if you don't talk to Laguna and company in the ragnarok how else are you going to find out?
You could reason your way to it through the Moombas calling Squall Laguna in the D-District Prison. However, most people tend to miss this implication, and don't think of it until after they've seen the conversations in Ragnarok, thereby concluding that Laguna is Squalls father.
But some of the plot was a romance. It seems logical that it would have a "happily ever after" ending.Quote:
