IRC is by far the greatest.
I probably use msn the most, though.
Well, the service. I use trillian so I don't have to have their awfulbloated interface to fight with. msn7 is probably the crowdest and most useless layout they've had so far.

Yahoo was always my favorite but I don't even use it anymore.
I don't like any of them. It's the people and not the software that make the experience, and I can firmly say that the people suck.
MSN, ive never tried the others
All of them but AIM fail.

AIM + Dead AIM serves all my instant messanging needs.
AIM sucks, but it's the only one my friends use. What's the point in using a messaging service if nobody you know is on it?

Yahoo! That is totally where it's at. I don't know if it's a regional thing or what, but that's the big one 'round here.
