This is a rather good question. Why is there so many theories threads in the FF VIII sections compare to others. Do FF VIII really have so much to discuss about compare to the other FF series or others just like discussing FF VIII?

Probably because FFVIII left a lot unexplained...

There is still a lot of stuff left unexplained in other FF series.
Like just who is Necron. (I know there is an anaylsis done by SquallofSeeD but it is still not confirmed.)

True, but the number of theories is usually linked to how much is left unexplained, there are some theories about the other FF's such as DroneofTravis' X-Death thing for FFV etc.

FFVIII was a pretty good game, deserving of many crackpot theories, but I do think it is about time for people to let go.

Actually, the number of theories is usually tied to how much people enjoy the game, rather than how much is left unexplained. Even things that have been fully explained can be twisted into insane new theories.

Is FF VIII well known for its theories? Well, we have theory threads up to nearly 20 pages here and although a bit twisted, but the theorist insisted that he is right. Anyway, I do kinda agree with this.

I don't know...FFV isn't my favourite game, yet it didn't stop me from writing a 4200 word essay on it...

I think spite can play a part as well.
