Sure we're close but I know theres still doubts.
Anyway any smart person would know Souness hasn't helped the team much.

Owen is only going to play for Newcastle on a loan deal, because they're too crap for him to want to sign permanently (Remember, he left Liverpool looking for success, and I think even Charlton have more chance of winning some silverware than Newcastle). Liverpool won't buy him, but we sure as hell need him, unless Cisse finally gets his act together and becomes the player he was at Auxerre again.
Newcastle aren't the crappest team you know XD.
Liverpool don't need Owen, Newcastle lack a strike force and good management.
Come on Souness go! for the sake of my future PSP go!
actually if you think about it why would Newcastle bid a record £15m for a loan?
makes no sense to me.
Indeed they aren't, but the fact is if Owen thought Liverpool were beneath him, after winning 5 different trophies with them, what chance do Newcastle have if they haven't won a trophy for over 50 years?
Liverpool need Owen and Newcastle need Owen, imho.
They aren't bidding for a loan. They're bidding to sign him. But Owen himself only wants to play there on loan unless Liverpool want him. He made a statement saying something like "I would really like to go to Liverpool, but if no agreemeent is reached then I will go on loan to Newcastle for a year". If your bet for the PSP includes loans, the PSP is yours.
Owen needs Liverpool more than they need him.
Liverpool aren't really in need of another striker, just luck they're an excellent team as it is.
Newcastle just need the right ingredients to get moving. 1. Owen. 2. better manager
Seriously We were better off with Sir Bobby Robson, Souness just ditched most of the good players.
IMO Kluivert deserved to stay
Huh? I'm agreeing with Shoden. Maybe it was the fact the sentence made sense or maybe I'm going mad, but he has a point.Quote:

Their places are guaranteed right now, whether they score goals or not. We need Michael Owen, because he doesn't have to be on form to score goals, he doesn't need a cuddle to score goals, he doesn't need an invitation to score goals. He is a predator, better than any striker on our books right now by a mile.
Unfortunately it looks as though we won't sign him because of the RIDICULOUS money Souness has bidded on him. Madrid were willing to part with him for £12 million and monkey boy at Newcastle bids £17 million. I bet he'll even have the gall to moan about the inflated prices of English players when he takes over at Dagenham and Redbridge next month.
I hate Souness.
I like him personally, one less challenger for the title now he ruined Newcastle!
IMO Owen will stay at Madrid for now, and join Liverpool in the summer once Benitez realises that Pongolle, Mellor, Crouch and Cisse are all.
Morientes on form and Owen would be one of the best strike partnerships in Europe.
Cisse isn't. It's not his fault Benitez keeps playing him on the wing and then refusing to reassure him over his future.
In fact none of the strikers in our team are, but Mellor, Pongolle and Crouch would certainly be better off at a smaller club. They aren't good enough for Liverpool.
OK,may be an over-exaggeration, but they ain't Liverpool class, as you said.
Owen will come home to liverpool
Trust me.
Cisse is a class striker frances top scorer twice in a row, international starlet and hardbringer of doom during pre season, two games is nothing to judge him on.
Mellor isn't that bad. He had a higher rate of goals-per-game than the likes of Baros and Gerrard, although he didn't play a lot due to injury, but he still has potential.
Pongolle also has potential, but I'd have preferred it if we sent him out on loan and kept Le Tallec instead.
As for Crouch, I'll wait to see how he performs this season before I decide if he is Liverpool standard.
I think Cisse's game changing performance in the Super Cup and goals in Europe so far totally blew that statement out of the water.Quote:

If Owen is as desperate as he says he would of already decided.
I think it's 99% certain now the Owen is off to Newcastle.
