I like the scottish "national anthem" although maybe thats jst my patriotic side showing through,
Personaly my favorite is the Irish national anthem it's got such a strong message :choc:
Added notage : The japanese anthem is just bananas:
May the reign of the Emperor continue for a thousand, nay, eight thousand generations and for the eternity that it takes for small pebbles to grow into a great rock and become covered with moss.
Ah, those people sure are bonkers.
squinn the scottish national anthem is a dry, slow, boring dirge.
I think to every patriot their national anthem is the best, and to every person a bit more skeptical about their nation the anthem is considered less than brillaint. Many anthems are inspiring others less so but to pick a definative one would be foolish. Besides i think they all sound the same when badly sung by the puplic at events.
I think the best anthem, well maybe it should be called a themesong, I made for my friend whom I call Canada on the basis that he is from Canada and I am not (go me! USA!). It certainly is one of the better themesongs in my opinion, but only if sung right and not infront of patriotic canadians. maybe when I finish the 2nd verse I will post it. I only have 4 lines so far. Im gonna go make more then post it up here. unless someone would prefer me not to.
if i remember correctly waltzing matilda isn't australia's official national anthem but there are calls for it to be.
actually your probably right on thatQuote:

Ive know people who have been descriminated against because they are english, it's just not right
I am actually a supporter of Scottish independance, but if we hate England so much, would Independance mean war? :choc:
