One prime example is Escaflowne.
I was hooked on this in its original Fox Kids run, only to hear that it was a horribly butchered version. I didn't find out until a few years later when I downloaded it how true that was. They cut out pretty much the entire first episode, then cut up bits an pieces of multiple episodes and compiled them into one. It was horrible, considering how amazing of a series that was.
Generally I don't care a whole lot about mistranslations. I'll usually watch stuff happily in naivete. With that one, though, they completely screwed it up.
The thing is that the show is hilarious in the first place, and Kitano's sense of humor is definately better than the guys dubbing Most Extreme Challenge.Quote:
