Its Colour :(
It's color.
Americanisms give me ulcers.
European spelling is the correct spelling.
Why? Because:
The word "colour" originated in Europe. It comes from the Queens Language.
Americans were just illiterate at the time and dropped the "u" some where in the Atlantic. by the time they realised how terribly wrong they were it was too late to admit the folly. So, to fool all the other illiterate idiots they simply devised spell check and masses and masses of morons were converted.
*waves the American flag*
you people who use the extra u are so defensive.
taking keyboarding classes has permanently damaged my ability to type in British.
not that that REALLY has any effect because i never took keyboarding classes and i type perfectly well and american

Colour. :(
Color is wrong.
As I've said before, any country that uses a horrible word like "cheque" and pronounces "lieutenant" as if there's an "f" in there somewhere when there's obviously not doesn't deserve to have an opinion about anything.Quote:

Colour.
Color sounds like something that appears at the top of a shirt around the neck.
It doesn't matter how they pronounce it. They made the damn words up and if they so please they can pronounce Raistlin. "Raflin."Quote:

Point in case:
w is pronounced v in some languages.
k is pronounced ghhhhhhh in another.
Furthermore, pronounciation differs from city to city, state to state, country to country. So really, that detail is obsolete considering spelling which should excercise uniformity through out all English speaking communities.
But it doesn't.
So meh.
Silly Americans! You should have at least learnt the English language before driving us out of the country.
Or maybe it was someones rebellious nature that made the spelling go all wrong.
"Dude, wouldn't it be totally hardcore if we took the 'u' out of colour? I'm pretty sure that would piss off the Queen!"
"smurf, you are so RATM!"
