I always thought those were normal soldiers, not actual SOLDIERS. I could be wrong though, as that guys get up is incredibly similair to Clouds now that I look at it.

If Kimahri had auto life then Nanaki prob wouldn't do so well. but then again with the materia system he could have pheniox and final attack, making it so he automaticaly has autolife and wouldn't have to cast it.
Kimahri's limit/overdrive consist of other enimies big attacks that can only be use when he has reached his max limit. When Nanaki can just use KOTR right away. Then kimahri has the advantage of max damage break when Nanaki does not. Its hard to say but i think Nanaki would win just because Kimahri would just be casting autolife and healing spells the who time when Nanaki can just use KOTR. But if you want to get into detail like with items then there well prety much always be a way to counter anything.
Victory goes to Nanaki.
Materia system ownes

EDIT: take away the materia system, Nanaki won't have any special attacks. Take away the sphere grid system, Kimahri would go gimp.

i personally think that the SOLDIER 1st class get-up is better than cloud's :D i also think cloud looks so much cooler in the SOLDIER uniform at the neibelheim flashback

yea but that aint him. hes the pansy in the SOLDIER really low class. (hes not really a pansy)
