The only possible thing that I might see being done is making the FAQ be displayed more prominently and be more easily accessible (3 clicks is way more than I expect most newbies to do).

Or we could make newly registered members read the FAQ and take a test on it to be able to log on.

And the great thing is, even if it is multiple choice or true/false and really easy, it still requires them to have knowledge of the rules. I mean we could do something like this:

"Is it all right to post porn? Yes or no"

"Is it all right to flame others? Yes or no"

Etc. etc.

Throw in a few reversed questions for good measure so they can't just select one for all of them and we're good to go.

If this was done, Yams would be doing even LESS. :cool:

I put about as much trust in users to read the FAQ as I do for users to not post porn. In other words, even if they are forced to read the FAQ, I highly doubt they'll give a crap. They'll post their ads and porn anyway. You think these people are here to stick around? You're misled.

That quiz is a silly idea, because it means less people would join the forums, and so less people would click/see ads, and so Cid would make less money.

You want Cid to become bankrupt and be forced to live on the streets as a prostitute and eat rats just so you don't have to edit out advertising links? Shame on all of you! SHAME ON ALL OF YOU! :irked:
