Ohh, I loved those books! It's been a long time since I've read them, but they were incredibly unique. I really want to get my hands on Garth Nix's Abhorsen Trilogy and see how it compares.Quote:

Manga.
Manga isn't a genre.
I like the kind of books where it's just troubled dudes hanging out and drinking and narrating. Like Hemingway and Salinger and, uh, Chbosky.
And then there's Kurt, who's in a genre of his own.
I often go more by authors than by a specific genre, but most of what I read is sci-fi because I'm a Star Wars nerd. I've read very little "regular" fantasy, but I'll probably read more when I have some time and have exhausted some of my favorite authors. Also, the few John Grisham books I've read have all been well written and interesting. I don't know how you'd really categorize his novels.
I read it all, but Fantasy (any variation) is where it's at. I don't remember a book report from 1st grade to Jr. High - or whenever we stopped doing those things - that wasn't based on a Fantasy novel. The Dark Tower is probably my favorite series of the bunch.
Anything good, to put it to basics...
I like pretty much everything.
High fantasy, generally.
