I'm not gonna jump on the debate, but I wish people would stop saying the only good games on XBox are Halo, sports games, and other FPS or multi-platform games. Hate to say this on a FF board, but since my falling away from FF (or rather, their departure from my tastes) I've had to look eslewhere for a good RPG romp this generation. And X-Box had the best, from western developers, who apparently understand cravings I never knew I even had...

I Don't know about the rest of the US but up here XboX rules everything. I try to tell people the PS3 will be better but all I here is XboX 360 this XboX360 that.
For me it looked like the MGS4 demo ran realtime on PS2 hardware. Without a huge environment and stuff, they can easily make the characters as detailed as they did in the demo.Quote:
I saw those supposed tech demos they put out for killzone and metal gear, and if their real time msoft will be in trouble.
In all fairness, not everyone's a fan of the type of RPG's you find on Xbox. The only one that ever interested me was KOTOR, but then I'm more a fan of Japanese style RPG's. It does kind of lack system selling exclusive titles though. The entire time the Xbox was out, three titles interested me. Splinter Cell which went multiplatform, KOTOR which is also on the PC, and Halo, which didn't interest me very much once I actually played it. To each his own. I certainly can't fault anyone for enjoying games on Xbox as there have been plenty of games that have gotten pretty good or great ratings, they're just not always for everyone.Quote:

The power of each console will only affect the decision of a minority who bizarrely insist on buying the machine with the best specs, and the rest of the public will simply opt for brand loyalty. Last generation the PS2 emerged victorious despite being the least powerful, and the same will happen this time, regardless of each machine's quality.
The only gaming rag I read these days is Edge. I get all my other info online, really.
But yeah, this is silly of people to do. It just makes them look petty/dumb. I remember some Nintendo mag back in the 90s thought it was l33t to call the PSX the 'Greystation'. :rolleyes2 Made me a lifelong subscriber, I can tell you.
Nintendo Power once suggested using old copies of Bebe's Kids for the SNES as "PlayStation mallets." The commercial for NiGHTS showed footage of someone dropping a PlayStation off the roof of a building. The Crash Bandicoot commercials featured a guy in a Crash suit shouting with a bullhorn at Nintendo's offices in Redmond, Washington. Sega produced a campaign touting the Genesis's unique capabilities for "blast processing" (which turned out to not exist) and claiming "GENESIS DOES WHAT NINTENDON'T."
My point is that great things can come from a console war.
In my opinion, Sony is better then Microsoft. Sony has everything, from digital camera's to game systems. I hear the PS3 will even have internet. How kick ass is that??
I'm gonna have to go with Sony. Sony has made many better things in the past than microsoft.(atleast that's what I think) XD
Just avoid the first shipment of PS3's. I'm going to wait for a price drop, personally. I'm excited about the Revolution moreso than the PS3.
Considering the amazing amount of Sony bias on this board, or probably any Final Fantasy one, I'm not going to even bother defending Microsoft. And I don't read either OPM or OXM, but I'd wager that they're both pretty insulting towards the other camps. Sony obviously had the better show at E3, but it was a dream show. Microsoft's footage was pretty realistic, and that's one reason why the Xbox 360 hasn't wowed people. We've seen good graphics, but nothing jaw-dropping. The validity of the tech demos Sony showed is really in question, and I personally doubt all the games were in real-time. The only gaming mag I read is EGM, and they recently said Killzone won't look nearly as good as the supposedly in-game footage presented at E3. I bet they're right.
