Well, it can be done as I have done it, and if I can do it then anyone can. It does get frustrating, but just keep trying and you will eventually get it.

I never knew why people had so much trouble with this, guess I was just lucky, did it third time.

i would skip it, spend the time you would in the monster arena training up to get items to add better stuff. i mean.. only loss is the one aeon doesnt get BDL. there are better skills to customize onto weapons anyhow. triple overdrive isnt exactly a must (though cool as it is... it only takes 30 winning formulas), evade and counter is ok.. but there are better things (or you could customize with one teleport sphere) and magic counter just SUCKS. and IMO just having magic counter there ruins the whole weapon as it isnt very ultimate anymore :p i would prefer BDL+1 mp + whatever else floats your boat. maybe evade and counter +counter :P or put in triple overdrive.

main point being.. the weapon itself isnt really worth the effort if you tried and tried and still cant get it. (like some/alot of us here) want something ultimate? make it yourself!

It took me a billion tries too, but I got it. It was worth it too.

I remember it took me about 10 tries the first time and about 25 tries on my 2nd game. It's all about just not making any mistakes and being lucky.

I ended up with 4.8 seconds. I would have got it if that damn bird didn't hit me. Also, that stupid race has made me hate birds.

First time I played through I tryed like 5,000,000+ times to do it. Same thing on my second playthrough. Then on my third I got it in like 4 tries. Its just luck.

I agree with the above, there is alot of luck involved, for example what side you start on, positioning of the balloons, birds. keep going till you get the "run of success"

I tried 100's of times on my main proper game to get it, but didnt. But once when I was repeating the game, I tried the mini-game for the hell of it, and 3rd try I got it. I ended up with 4 ultimate weapons on 1 game, and the caladbolg on the other. Moral of story=Don't play it while your stressed.
