You know, If everyone just made heavy metal without the genres we probably wouldnt have so much argueing.

How dare you make me choose between Megadeth and In Flames. I have to go with Mustaine on this one tho. Does anyone know when their dvd of Gigantour in Montreal is coming out?
I love when people imply they've heard all contemporary music.Quote:

Death metal is more agressive than any other metal genre and newer doom metal (Totenmond and the likes) have more power (heaviness) than any thrash metal bands.Quote:

Well, I know as a fact that the only here that has ever listened to any of the bands I posted is Jrgen, and that you other idiots are teenagers stuck in a past you were never apart of. Don't get me wrong, I'm a teenager too, and I was never part of that past, but I'm not smurfing stuck in it.
If you think all modern bands are as boring and powerless as say, Opeth, you don't know anything.
Well, lets see here.Quote:

If it is about all that, than you would have to love modern metal bands ALOT more than the older ones, as most modern bands have alot more skills, varying vocal styles, and in a good amount of the sub-genres solos as well.
If you want modern bands thatall over the older bands, you will look no further than:
Bloodbath: They write riffs that would make bands like Megadeth look like amatuers, and the raw strength behind the vocals on both of their albums kick's Mustaines horrible vocals.
Psycroptic: The riffs here are so varied and in large amounts that there are not even any solos, and well, that is something you learn to appreciate.
Godiva: Hah. Judas Priest, move out of the way. What this band offers are the riffs of the older metal scene but ten times better, and vocals that are even better than Rob Halford's were when he was in his prime.
Equilibrium: A band with nothing more than a demo and one full-length album, and you know what. That is all this band needed to establish themselves as better than a good damn amount of the bands to come out of the 80s. Great atmosphere, amazing guitar and drum work, skill that is unparalleled in their style of metal, and oh wait? Vocals, god. They may not seem more than typical black/death vocals, but they fit the music better than a slap across an insubordinate childs face does.
Solefald: Amazing band. If I were not trying to tell you idiots to get into modern metal and stop living in the overrated past, that would be all I would say, but I am trying to do that, so I can't end there.
What we have here is a band that creates an unparalleled feeling through the great keyboard and guitar work of the TWO members, and well the drumming isn't bad either. The music is expiremental, and so original it laughs at the rehashes of the 80s, that hadn't changed at all since they started playing. If you value good songwriting and amazingly played music, you will snap every Megadeth CD you have and buy this bands entire discography.
That's the way, insult everyone. That ought to prove your arguement.Quote:

Lyrics were better in the older days of metal, nowadays a song cannot be aired if it has even a mention considered politically incorrect.
