Personally, I felt that Nintendo's E3 almost proved it wasn't a gimmicky thingy. But I will have to be able to try it out, just in case I end up despising it with all mah heart and soul. o.o

Nintendo. The question is whether or not the novelty will wear off. Is this the next eyetoy or a true revolution?
Nintendo killed, I was curious as to which one I am going to buy first, but now i know.
Nintendo "won". For me, I was impressed by them the most.
People always use the word 'gimmick' to discredit anything new that goes against their opinions... all of us are guilty of that... at least at one point or another. The difference is who actually is correct in the end.
If the DS's success is any proof... than I'd say that the touch screen is far from a gimmick... end of arguement. XD
And since the motion detection is ment to change gameplay, as the touch screen did, I doubt highly that it will ever be a gimmick.
Where as, the 'gimmick' of the eyetoy, if I may use that as an example, was that it was just a simple addon for the PS2, that only had like 5 games that used it. But I'm not complaining about mine! ^_~ cause its the best webcam I've ever had! XD (yah, if u find the drivers, you can use it as one ^_~)
Anyway, for a system like the Wii, the word 'gimmick' really doesn't work, cause the motion detection is ment as the main controll feature... not an addon. But only time will tell really... XD but where's the fun if we can't make preditions based on our preferences? XD
So yah, it seems most people think Nintendo won E3... but why hasn't Microsoft gotten any votes? XD (not that I like MS anymore than Sony >_>)
Even if they're hardware has been out for a while now, they still had some nice things to show off. lol
@ everyone who voted "gamers": Cop out!
The answer to this question is always gamers. I've never known an E3 where any of the major companies have failed to offer something impressive, and this year was no different.
FFXIII made me really excited. But I still think I'm sold on a Nintendo Wii. ^^
Thank you for assuming the unconvinced are anti Nintendo, or afraid of change. The fact is, I've yet to see anything that would indicate the Wiimote is anything more than a glorified mouse. I'm not seeing anything truly revolutionary coming as a result of this yet. I've yet to see any games that couldn't be accomplished with equal results from the use of a traditional controller, or keyboard mouse setup. I think the wiimote could be an interesting change from traditional control schemes, but is it revolutionary? Nothing I've seen so far would make me think that.Quote:

I am loyal to my favourite soulless corporation to the end. Sony destroyed everyone else and if you say otherwise you're just a MINDLESS FANBOY!!!
It's obvious it was the guys who held E3, and E3 itself that won.
Nintendo is what Im told.
Well this E3 has finally shown me how pointless and idiotic the gaming industry and 'internet hardcore gamerz' are.
So I guess that would make me the winner of E3.
Go me.
Between Microsoft and Sony? Gamers won.
Nintendo
But SONY came very close with FF and MGS:choc2:
