Well, if it's a choice between being emo and being a furry...actually I'd probably just add "Dead" to that too.

As much as I love dogs, they are very much more stupid and loyal and butt-sniffing than cats ;) <3 I'd love to HAVE a dog more, but to be one...?

Cats are more versatile and get more attention. Assuming I'd have a mind unlike most cats, I'd like to be a cat instead of a dog.
