I absolutely love the theme from FFIX. I always wander around the world map, just so I can hear the theme over and over again.
FFVI's world of balance theme.
FFIX's theme.
FFIII's off-floating-continent theme.
VI, world of RUIN  (searching for friends is better than terra's theme, in my opinion)
IX
My favourite is IV.
FFVII's and IX's world map theme are catchy, im talking about the theme that you first hear, not the second theme they both get later in the game....those just bum me down...
They're bringing back the World Map? :D yay!Quote:

All of them are so GOOD (except for FFV's), but I would have to say Blue Fields (FFVIII) and FFII's are my faves.
It's either II or IV or VI.
"searching for friends." is an amazing peice and probably the best world map one to me. i cant quite remember the FF7 pre meteor and FF6 world of balance tune. i vaguely remember the world of balance tune and i think its a very good one (i need to get a new copy of FF6. my other one broke. why did it have to be FF6!) FF9 has a good one but it isnt as touching as searching for friends. FF4 has a good one for the normal world (not underground or moon.) the FF5 second world is also one of the best.

Crossing the Knoll, Final Fantasy IX. it was such peaceful music to be running endlessly around the world with. i would follow that with Blue Fields from Final Fantasy VIII. the theme that came along once you can see meteor in the sky with Final Fantasy VII - yeah, i never did like the sound of that.
Eternal Wind, and Main Theme to Final Fantasy IV.

I hated the meteor map theme in FFVII. It was so annoying.
but now that I think about it more, my favorite theme is when using the sub in FFVII.
