No one in FFI has blonde hair except the White Mage in the remake.
Firion: hair was Red (NES)/Grey (Remake)
Onion Kid: Not until the Remake

Celes had blonde hair. Remember FF6 has no single main character unlike the other games.

They all look like girls. That's the link that ties them all together.

Or maybe it's all just a big RPG cliche.

By the way, Marche (Final Fantasy Tactics Advance) has both of his parents, I believe.

Squall didn't look like a girl. Cloud didn't. I'd say a lot of villains did though.

(Kuja, Kadaj, Sephiroth, Yazoo, Kefka (I think?)

They're all main characters

They all wield sharp objects and have pwnage Limit Breaks.

Yeah. Cecil had the best Limit Break, though.
