well thats logical.
but it takes the feel that you are in the game right out.
for example.
going into battle your using say... media player.
:D..... no instantanious change of music to keep you energized.
thats part of the point of music hacking...

I can't find the Caedarva Mire theme tune anywhere on the net... Besides that wasn't the answer to my question.
Just like any game, you can rip the music files and convert them into MP3 using certain tools. However, you'll have to look for that yourself, as I don't know what the program is called.
Also, I downloaded the new expansion's OST via torrent, not long ago. I'm sure it'd still be easy to find.
Yes you can convert the files in the actual software on your comp from the format the game uses to Wave or Mp3. I don't remember the name of the software... there should be a download of it on at least one of the walkthrough websites, thats where I found it. :D
Note this is only (as far as I know) for PC Version of FFXI.

I can't actually hack the music as im using the 360 version now. (My pc was ancient, I couldnt afford another one. If you don't like it, well meh to you! >:O)
If I could, I probably would. Some of the music in FFXI is just a little bit on the irritating side. Especially after playing it for so long (imported the PC version shortly after US release).
