Usually I only need one to stick into the front hole of a CD drive to open the tray.
I prefer to use staples for paper.

Sometimes I will straighten one out and use it to pick out the junk from my ball mouse.
In marching band, we use paper clips to hold the sheet music in our flip folders. It works like a charm :)
miscellaneous uses of paperclips:
1) seal a bag of chips
2) keep a rather lengthy belt in place
3) miniature caltrops
Yuffie looks like she's bloated or something in Kingdom Hearts with the belt hanging over, xD. i really rather have my belts just right.
