I agree wholeheartedly.
jrgen, that band is more ridiculous than good to me. :)

Covers are nice when they're done well, but otherwise they're just plain annoying.
Both Jeff Buckley's and Rufus Wainwright's version of Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah" are very good for example.
Argh can't believe I forgot about Jeff Buckley's version of Hallelujah! That's a wonderful song.
I'll have to disagree with you there. :)
One of the most innovative and influential industrial bands around and without a doubt one of the most controversial bands in existence as few get their great satire (if anyone truly does).
Check out their newly released cover (in a sense) of God save the Queen too. (Perhaps NSFW. Just some non-sexual naked upper bodies.)
The Rufus Wainwright version of Hallelujah is the best one, Hendrix's All Along the Watchtower is better than Bob Dylan's, and Johnny Cash's Hurt is better than the Nine Inch Nails version. That's all I can think of now.
I think 9 out of 10 covers are wrong. And that's excluding trance/dance versions of oldies, because I think that's always wrong (imo).
I can't even think of a "well-done-cover" right now.
Good covers are good covers.
ie. Hurt by NiN done by Johnny Cash- outstanding
or Jimi Hendrix's version of All Along The Watchtower
Of course these are widely considered two of the best covers done ever because they make great songs to someone who hasn't heard the original. (I haven't heard the origional Hurt and I don't feel the need to).
And Leeza, I'm sorry to say this, but I find the MM version of Another Brick quite... awful. :(
Johnny Cash's cover of "Hurt" is infinitely better than the original in my opinion. I love it.
Cradle of Filth's cover of "Hallowed Be Thy Name" is a very good cover. It's a nice change from the original.
Most covers done by Children of Bodom I find are quite good. The two stand out covers in my mind are "The Trooper" and "Somebody Put Something In My Drink"
Pantera's covers of "Planet Caravan", "Cat Scratch Fever", and "Hole in the Sky" are also examples of very good covers.
Lies and Libel!!
Also, The Seatbelt's version of Pink Floyd's On The Run is somewhat impressive.
O RLY? :)
I hate that too kishi.
"OMG SARAH BRIGHTMAN DID THIS SONG, DUST IN THE WIND, AND ITS SOOOOO GREAT!"
Wow. And the burn goes to Leeza.
I Dope's cover of "You Spin me Round" and I have no idea why xD
