I've scoured Pandemonium and managed to find another 8 treasure chests, so my item completion is now at 99% with one treasure to go. I've got four monsters to add to the bestiary (I assume one of them is the final boss), and about three concept sketches (again I assume one is of the final boss).
Done about half of the tower of doom. Went back outside to train because Gareth is rubbish, Lucy is now a killing machine with osmose and drain :cool:

As is becoming par for the course with me, I've hit a major snag. I've tried to go to the Arena with Gordon but the game demands that one of the three main characters are revived to advance since Gordon leaves when you find Hilda. The problem is that Guy, who would be replacing Gordon, is severely under-levelled to get out of the Arena (you have to hoof it out as Exit doesn't work) and head back to the boat and all the way back to Altea. In all honesty I don't think it's overly feasible. I will try it by buying an Elixir to heal Guy back up to full health/magic when I revive him and take a bazillion Holy tomes to hopefully burn through the enemies with them, but if that doesn't work....I'm really not sure if I'll be able to advance.
I don't think I'll be able to beat this game in time, but this has given me the incentive to play and end up beating this game, so I'm happy :P
You guys all do far better commentary then I'd probably have done had I bothered :p
I remember doing that tropical island much earlier than supposed to too, I think pretty soon after getting the boat - I thought it was some weird bonus dungeon when I first found it and didn't realise until much later what it was for when I was really meant to be getting the masks :pQuote:

Also unlocked normal mode. Does that mean the old-style painful mode?
I found by the endgame I was raking in so much loot that buying Elixirs was actually cost-effective. Takes up a lot less inventory space as well.
Never used the Blood Sword. Too cheap.
Cid kicked the bucket (he too? -_-) and now I'm ready to take the Airship to Palamecia.

My experience with FFI Origins was you had to play through the game twice to unlock everything easy mode and normal mode. Normal mode featured less spells, weaker Black mages, etc... I found it a pain to replay the game in normal mode, especially after easy mode, just to get that last piece of concept art.Quote:

Did you run into them before going up the Mysidian Tower? Because afterwards the whole random encounters on the world map change.
Here's what you have to do:
(SPOILER)Go to the left upper room in Fynn castle, third floor or so. Go up to the large mirror and select to use the Pendant. You could do this before and see just an egg appear. It will hatch this time. You can use the dragon to enter the cyclone.
I've hit a major problem: with my backed up PSP version, the game locks up when you meet Leon. I need to find a solution, or else I'll be forced to buy a copy of the game. Since it's €40-50, I'm not looking forward to it.
I could try getting past that point using my version of the game. Send me your save files through email or something and I'll see what I can do. :cool:Quote:

Yep, I didn't touch the bonus dungeons yet so please add stuff from them ;-), because I don't think I'll be in time. But if you just abandoned the challenge from now on and started using all the characters, whould you have a chance to finish the game? I think you showed the limits of FF II to humankind, and you deserve a recognizement for this even if you should not finish the game in time.

Sergeant Hartman, you are plenty overleveled. Your stats are higher than mine was in the final dungeon.

My spells are all around 5/6/7, and I can finish the game like that. Why the hell do they need to go up to level 16?

Maybe more leveling? I've got my party so that two characters can do enough physical damage to take out one Death Rider. So long as I only run into two or less I can beat them easily enough.Quote:

If all of your characters' HP is over 1000, you should be able to manage going through Pandemonium. Defeating the Emperor is a whole different story though (unless you use the Blood Sword).
Doubt I'll finish this tomorrow.
My guys (and Maria) are all over 1000 HP and I use the Blood Sword almost all the time as the second weapon. We'll see if I make it through. :)
Something about a Blood Sword, you say? I'll try that when I get home because the Emperor is decimating my party. :cry:
The Blood Sword gives you back some HP with each hit. Every little bit helps.
EDIT: All of my playing tonight was a waste. I got defeated by Lampias. I couldn't keep up with the healing and reviving so it doesn't look like I'll be finishing this tomorrow either.
Game beaten! And without the Blood Sword. The Emperor was no piece of cake, though. I'll upload images in the evening.
Bwarhar. I beat that fool using the Blood Sword but I'd say I probably could've done it without it. I've been in the habit of buffing my guys with "All" type spells instead of using them on one person at a time. I used Berserk, Aura, and Haste on Fryin' and that seemed to make a crap-ton of difference. I didn't get a pic of him dying but I got the dialogue afterward. Yay!

Is there any short cut to Pandemonium or is the Jade Passage the only way in?
I haven't gotten around to play it today, so I hope we can continue into May for a bit.
As long as the challenge is only for the completion of game, I believe it is okay to keep going into May.

Currently I have 98% Bestiary, 100% Items, and 98% Artwork.
I still need Mantis King (#88) and Goblin Prince (#98). I looked around the woods and ocean around Kas'ion, but no luck so far. Should I be looking inside the castle?
Also does anyone know where the Mantis King lurks? They're not the strongest in the Mantis class, so I suspect they're from an earlier dungeon or maybe on the world map somewhere.
The Eoff FF II bestiary should be able to hel you.
Just finished Palamecia castle, taking pictures has gone out the window, but I hope to be finished in a few days.
I've been taking a break from this for a bit to catch up on some house renos that this game has put me behind on. I didn't think Pandemonium would take me so long because I've done most everything else the first time around. I'll be getting back into it in a few days though.
Captain Maxx. You did really great for your challenge attempt. That's something that I don't think that I would ever try.

Thanks, DarkLadyNyara! I was able to get that pesky GP aded to the Bestiary. I'm not sure if you have to be in a certain spot (like Iron Giants) but I finally ran into one in the main entrance area between the uppermost two pillars on the right side.
That unlocked the last piece of artwork, so I have 100% Bestiary, 100% Item and 100% Artwork. I have (very belatedly) completed my goal. :)
No worries rubah, now I know I can get completion data without playing Normal mode. In FFI Origins you had to play through the game once in each mode to unlock everything.
It was a fun game.
