Why are you playing it underground?
Because the DS backlight works better in perfect darkness.
I'm in the last dungeon but I keep on dying. Some more power leveling is in order if I want to finish the game in time.
Update: I couldn't make it in time. é_è I keep on dying in the last dungeon.
You'll still get a silver star for finishing, Koshi. Even if it not on time. I'm still in the Underworld myself.
Yes I'm still alive, not that anybody cares, and I've got 2 playthroughs going.
PS1: on the Moon, hopelessly underleveled
DS: Sealed cave, moving slowly, didn't notice deadline.
I'll finish when I get around to it.
Anyways, V is up next?
I'm in the Sylph Cave. Hopefully I'll be done before FFV starts.
Yes, FFV will be next. Hopefully starting November 1st...unless it's not. :cat:
Oi, I'll see to it that I finish my playthrough to the end! Even if I have to miss the deadline [strike]by a couple years[/strike]!
Most subsequent "Eyes On"s will be at least two months as the games grow progressively larger.
Larger? This one is large. I thought this is one that I would have finished on time, but NO. I just finished with the Sealed Cave and am now out of the Underworld. Still a ways to go. I found a Blue Tail tough. Does it do anything?
I think my average FFIV playthroughs were around 20-24 hours on the in-game clock when I found everything in game. I'm not sure about FFV, but FFVI is 30-40, depending upon how much leveling and spell teaching you do with your characters. I want to say FFVII is 40-50 hours and it's just getting longer from there.
Holy crap! I'm already at 45 hours for FFIV! But I am doing a lot of leveling and exploring as Cecil is already at Level 70. This is my first time through most of these games though.
What version are you playing? I should clarify my last post by stating that those times are either on the old SNES FFII or the PSOne release. I'm not sure what my times were on the GBA versions with the extra content and I haven't played the DS version.
I am playing the new DS version and apparently that's Hard mode?
My exploring might be sidequests. How do you know what's a sidequest and what isn't? 50 would be too low for me. I like brute force better than magic. :cat:
Anything that isn't part of the main story is a sidequest, i.e. Land of Summoned Monsters, Sylph Cave, Bahamut, etc...
The only way I've won most boss battles is strategy. And slow, always spam a boss with slow.
Update: At giant of Babil, where my ass was rather promptly kicked. Going back to level and whatnot.
I'm annoyed because my brother accidently saved over my game.
I'm in the last part of the last dungeon with a party that starts being well over level 80. But I still don't trust myself to go against Zeromus like this. If I can grind some more, I'll feel safer.
I keep getting killed in the Lair of the Father.
I was finally able to beat the game by a stroke of pure luck (Kain was Jumping while Zeromus launched Meteor, killing the rest of the party, and when he came down he gave the decisive strike). Nice!
I know I'm not actually playing as part of Eyes on Plays (I mean I haven't even finished the game I started in july!) but I thought I'd mention that the sealed cave is such a bitch!
Apparently his defense/spirit was high enough that they never killed him once with that ninth dimension attack.
I'm just offering you the easiest, fastest, and most efficient way of bringing annihilation to them.
I got *no effect* every single time. Or maybe it missed sometimes, but it never killed him.
The doors were easy. I always waited to see who they would focus on and then I would have Rosa cast Reflect on that person. Instant death to the door.
Hey all, I am still trying to finish this game. I'm at the final battle with Zeromus and nothing is happening. I've been trying to fight him for half an hour already but all I managed to do was load everyone up with Haste, Blink, Shell, Protect, Reflect and anything else I could think of. All of my attacks on him net a 0 and he just floats there and sputters a bit but is not attacking. Isn't he supposed to blast me with something by now? Or is he supposed to just float there and then hit me when I'm getting all bored of attacking him with nothing happening? Do I have some sort of glitch here right at the end of the game? I've been playing it all smurfing day so that I can get on to FFV so it would really piss me off if I have a glitch!
Have you used The Crystal on him yet? This first form exists only so you can steal Dark Matter, and for an attempt at the makers to introduce cutscenery into a battle.
Did you use a crystal?
*high fives tav*
I had to read a walkthrough for that xD Now I know what swords are coming up though!
(I did all of bahamut's little cave thinking that was the way to get into the subterrean. oops)
I'm supposed to use the Crystal? No, I did not use a Crystal. :/ I will go use a Crystal. :)
EDIT: Thank you, guys. But, my party has fallen. I was too quick on Rosa. I wanted Curaga but I hit something else. There are not enough save spots in this dungeon. I'll have to get back to this tomorrow.
I did grind. Cecil is at about level 91 or 92. :) The trek from the last save point to Zeromus is quite long though.
whoa whoa whoa whoa, what 91? @________@
Yeah. I like to do a lot of exploring. :)
*dry humps*
Holy crap, 91?! I thought grinding to 70 was overkill! XD
All done. Zeromus wiped out everyone but Kain saved the day with his last jump. :)

*fanfare*
I'm at 81-77 and Zexymus didn't kill me outright, but it came anyways.
stupid dungeon only having one save point! :O
Why is holy so much weaker than Flare? Does it use Intelligence instead of Spirit or something? Do Behemoths just have a really high elemental resistance to holy?
I don't think I have ever even used Holy. :cat:
Finally beat this game :) I've only been playing it since July!
(I took some pictures even though I wasn't doing eyeson plays, but I have to download them first)
Yay, rubah! Isn't it a great game? :)
Yes, I liked it a whole lot better than I did the first time I played it :)

I forgot to mention that I beat the game over a week ago, DS version.
