I totally have never seen this thread on this site at all.
I love this show. I need to watch more, I'm like halfway through Season 1, but I hate watching it alone. It feels a little weird to me.
Who wants to start a pony watching party? :jess:

I would SO be in on that.
Oh man you guys. Oh man. WHAT IF... we made a #pony chat channel and all sat in there and watched a MLP marathon?
I'm down for that.
MAKE THIS HAPPEN PIKE!
Ready to cry, guys? Of course you are!
Finally got around to watching the fourth episode of Season 2. Where was Rarity? ;_;
Also, only a couple more days till episode 5! :D
Oh my god that's so sad. DDD:
Once my nephew wanted nothing more then to drive around in cars and do angry boy stuff.
After one evening, his new dream is to be Rainbow Dash and to do a Sonic Rain boom.
That ought to make this room a bit less depressing. :p

I am enjoying these things.
You're welcome. :p
This is another oddly enjoyable one. :p

Cuz apparently this thread is now a PMV zone. Also, Big Macintosh is a pimp.
I met a Brony at work today. He said his favorite is Fluttershy. Confirmed for bro.
Conversion of 2 reported, wifes college friend and her fiance.
I converted three of my friends to bronies. I'm 3 strong. All hail to the herd!
I converted all four of my younger sisters. It was glorious.
I discovered that one of my brothers is a brony. He said he finds the show funny.
You know, first I was dissapointed with the Halloween episode because it had no Rarity, even though the episode on a whole was very good.
Now I get an episode with mostly Rarity, but it's kind of lack luster. Still good, but I can't bring myself to care in the slightest about Sweetie Bell, or any of the other kids for that matter. (Alright, the brit kid amused me. :p)
Still a great season 2 so far though. :p
This was definitely the best episode with the Cutie Mark Crusaders, though. They are easily the worst part of the show (even worse than the theme song, which is made infinitely better by this). They have almost no personality, and their episodes are always the same. They are episodes of painful futility as they explore things and completely ignore their true talents. They are one-dimensional, throw away characters, which is in contrast to basically every other character in the show. Their storylines are completely redundant and never reach a resolution. The best thing they ever did was to unleash Discord, and if we get another episode focused on those nauseating little ponies, it had better summon Discord back again.
In other news, Friendship is Magic Stops World War II.
Cutie Mark Crusaders are great, deal with it.
I actually quite like the CMCs. The main reasons being because the first episode I ever watched was "The Show Stoppers" which of course was all about them. I was directed to a YouTube video by a thread on another forum - one throw away line by the CMCs had minor relevance to the topic. At first, I just glanced at it - I had avoided My Little Pony as a kid for reason you can probably guess, and I feel kind of stupid for that now. But anyway, when I first watched the video, I knew it was My Little Pony, but I actually thought it was a flash cartoon parody of it that someone had created online - I didn't realize it was an actual series. I was surprised that there was a lot of positive feedback from the comments, and decided to watch the full episode, and at found it entertaining, and kept coming back to it. I found out that it was an actual proper TV Series when I noticed that a couple of the comments were basically all variations of "There is a Derpy in the episode"decided to do some Googling on what the hell this "Derpy" thing was, and I read on the Friendship is Magic wikia that she was a crossed-eyed Pony who began life as a mistake by an oversight, and became a joke for the viewers (naturally you should all know of her by now - she was already considered famous according to comments on YouTube). I continued to watch the episode again and again, enjoying it for some reason, and I really came to like the CMCs - I actually found their song to be interesting, even though it was out of tune (which was a plot point) but I kind of got how the characters where serious about the lyrics - whatever these "marks" where you could tell in the song it meant something to them, so I guiltily liked the song, despite it being comically bad (and the way they messed the choreography was actually pretty funny.)
I decided to go back to the FiM wikia, and check what was said about them, and also recheck Derpy's page, as I wasn't exactly sure what it had said about how she had been added by accident, and then after reading more carefully, and then checking other pages, I realized this was a genuine TV series! I felt kinda silly, and then it dawned on me that I was watching an actual series of My Little Pony, and enjoying it and thought "WHAT?! but then I thought "You know what? I'm always saying how I don't care anymore about whether a show's made for kids, or girls, or kids who are girls - I just like what I like, I don't have to tell anybody! I know I hated My Little Pony as a kid, but that's because I was at the age where I thought it did matter that a show was "girly" but now I already proved to myself I'm not that kid anymore, so I'm gonna watch my so called "girly" show and I don't care! by the time I discovered that the show was popular with guys as well, I had already become a massive fan - I obviously don't count as a Brony because I never watched the previous generations, but I love FiM.
Because the CMCs kind of introduced me to it, and I got to like them from watching an episode all about them again and again, they are some of my favorite characters on the show. I found them really aww, and likeable characters. I didn't find them completely one dimensional, even though they admittedly have less development than the main characters, but that's just because they're focussing on one storyline of them, which is kind of a given - I don't find them badly developed at all, I just view them as an open book, they're just beginning they're adventure basically, and in the mean time we can enjoy the adventures of other characters as well. None of the CMCs are my favorite character in the show, but they are on my favorite list somewhere - I have a spot for them, and I have some fan art of them saved.
I started out as a CMC hater, but the little buggers have grown on me. I wish they would drop that kind of love on other background ponies though. Big Macintosh is dying for an episode, and between blues, octavia, lyra, DJ Pon-3 and the other musically oriented ponies, its a small wonder that we haven't come across some kind of battle of the bands thing yet.
Also, to induce brick crapping, go back to episode 1. Check out the shot of Applebloom when Luna drops in, a full eleven episodes before meeting the other CMC's.
A lot of former haters are talking like that; I think the reason I never hated them myself is because I started on one of their episodes, and then concerntrated on them first. Other fans started at the begining and focused on the main characters, and then suddenly there's three kids out of nowhere (even though one of them has been in since the first episode as a minor character) so it's just a matter of the way I watched the episodes, I guess - they just grew on me faster.
Yeah, I agree they should do more episodes based on minor characters, maybe even "promote" some to more major characters for a few episodes, even if they still don't get as much episodes as the main characters.
Yeah, I saw that. It's most likley an error, but TV Tropes gave a passable explaination.
I like the CMC. I like the other ponies too. Snails is the most underrated pony in the show.
Gonna drop a link to the finalized Ponython info in this thread in case anyone hasn't seen it!
Oh and Yes, Snails is awesome.
Actually, for me, it's just that the writing for them is pathetic. It's the only story in the series which has no conclusion. During their episodes, they are always doing the exact same thing. Their talents are obvious, anyone who watches the CMC shows can tell what they are going to be, but they studiously ignore them in every episode and just rehash their hunt, which never goes anywhere. It's dull, poorly written, and boring.
The last episode was good because it actually showed another side to the ponies. They were doing something different, and the story actually had a conclusion. There was more to their personalities than just "Find Cutie Mark, Yay!".
I like it, but it means more to me.
I think that the reason those episodes have no conclusion is because they're all part of one big story, and yeah I get that they're over looking their talents, but who's to say that the majority of characters didn't do that? You have to remember they're pretty young. I'm hoping that they will find their marks one day - in fact I'm hoping that the writers will do the right thing, and have them get their marks close to each other so it will be an epic ending to the story. Regardless of how many fans they have, they should have an emotional conclusion. Maybe have something link them together how they get their marks, like the main six, but without blatently coppying it.
The newest episode, The Cutie Pox, is pretty good. Though I find the first two minutes the best part because of this!

AWWW YEEEEAAAH! The Big Lebowski reference ftw!
Hells yeah. I took the same sceenshot like an hour ago. The pony abides.
Welp, despite this being a show with an abundance of superlative musical numbers like At The Gala, Winter Wrap-Up, and Art of the Dress, they just topped everything with today's episode.
Best. Musical number. Ever.
Ponies confirmed for curling and Rainbow Dash confirmed for leader of the Maremacht.
Sorry, nothing ever tops Winter Wrap Up. Winter Wrap Up is eternal.
edit: Though This Leaked Spoiler of a Season 2 Song is growing on me super effing hard.
Honestly every time a new song rolls around it's the New Best Thing Ever, but that little Rarity number just... I can't even handle it, that was so awesome, I want to be a gorgeous gorgeous pony.
Here's a thought; while there's a tiny possability that in the first episode the CMCs just held on to closest ponies and then forgot about each other until they met again, what I don't about them meeting each other for the "first time" in the later episode is that two of them are related to the main characters - since their sisters are friends wouldn't they have at least heard of each other before?
Also the fanbase has finally been given the Cracked treatment, I was dreading this because Cracked can be really obnoxious sometimes (usually with cartoons/movies I liked as kid), but it really wasn't that bad. :)
I'm an engineer: I hate happiness, smiles, ponies, and this show.
That's okay, you can't like everything :)
I just don't get it.
Goddammit. I was bored and watched the first episode. I hate all of you for tolerating and loving the trout out of me. Or whatever.
Should we welcome you to the herd then, Julian?
No! :(
It's okay Julian. Welcome to the herd :kaoclove:
It's official, there is no more masculinity in me. My wife requested a Fluttershy plushie for christmas. Being armed with 30 days of vacation time, a sewing machine, a mandatory home ec course from 15 years ago, and the total lack of enough money to ebay one,i have taken this task upon myself.
Related note! I definitely don't plan on selling these, and seeing as how the plushies are crazy expensive anywhere online, if anyone wants the pattern or instructions, PM me. I'll send you what i got. Mine will end up being "Big prize from the fair" sized, and the total cost is only around 40 bucks. Already cranked out a smaller one to test the pattern, that one could be easily done for about 20.
NCG...seriously, if you puss out, I will make it my goal in life to see your name and avatar stripped from you permanently. Are you a god of chaos or a fluffy little girlie man?
It's too late, isn't it? The beard pony tail is a sure sign. And trying to hug me? Hugs are for pussed out pansies my friend. Pussed out. Pansies.
It's ok, NCG. I mean, I'm a dude and I like MLP.
If Robert Plant's bastard child can like it, I think I can too. :p

All in all there are several things i would do differently if I was to undertake this kind of project again.
First and foremost probably sucking it up and paying to have the eyes and cutie mark embroidered professionally, as opposed to my "good enough" cheap guy method of a cardstock stencil and 2 buck bottle of fabric paint.
Secondly, I still haven't figured out the best way to attach the wings. As of posting, neither of them are actually permanently attached, because I think it's going to involve busting some seams so i don't have to sew through as many fabric layers. I am loathe to do this, and have been attempting to circumvent it. I have three broken upholstery needle standing evidence to both my efforts to sew them on as is, and the inevitability of cracking said seams back open.
Lastly, the big ones head needs some definitive reinforcement, the neck is overstuffed like crazy, but it's still not enough support to keep it upright. It kind flops around on its own accord, which largely works because of my lazy sleeping-style eyes. It usually rolls forward onto her legs and makes her look like she's snoozing. All in all though, it has done it's duty of eliciting squee from my wife, so I declare the endeavor a success.
D'awww! That's adorable :jess:
WANT
No seriously, I'd buy one.
She is so "awww".
All honesty, I've got two more weeks of nothing to do, and I'm bored to tears. I may be making more of the smaller ones just for something to do. PM me a request and if it's something i can concieve a pattern for, I'll be happy to take a crack at it and send em out to you. If you'd like a freebie though, do me a favor and stick with ponies with a fairly simple color scheme. Ie: rainbow dash would require me buying like, 8 different fabrics.
:o I'm gonna have to think. I'm all <3 Rarity tight now...
I was just wondering about shipping costs, and noticed you're from memphis. Congratulations, now I cannot stop thinking about Pig on Beale's baked beans. Damn you laddy, damn you.
I'm not even ashamed to admit that the ending of today's episode made me a lil' misty eyed.
For a second, I was scared. I thought that the spike/rarity shipping was going to be cannonized. The hell that would have unleashed upon the fanfic sites...
Aside from my all encompassing desire for baked beans and a rack of ribs, I think I can handle a Rarity plush, assuming i can come up with the required fabric. I'll get back at ya tomorrow and let you know the score.
Edit: So I sent out a few messages to those of y'all that had mentioned an interest in the freeby plushies. Had a couple questions before I get cranking on them in earnest though, so as soon as y'all get back to me I can get cracking. Anybody else that's interested that hasn't talked to me, just let me know. I may do another round of these later, if there's still interest.
Could... could I get a Fluttershy plush, please? :3
hahaha, looks like we're having ourselves a little MLP:FiM avatar/sig fest going on here.
So far, we have half of the six mane ponies taken.
Pike = Twilight Sparkle
Laddy = Rarity
Proto = Rainbow Dash
I am determined to have all EoFFers be ponies.
Um, no. If I have to make this stand alone, I will. I have to. For the future of EoFF and for the future of mankind, I will stand against this evil, I will vanquish the evil in our midst, and we will have peace again. I swear it this day on all that is good and holy in this world. I shed this blood so that future generations may once again know what it is to be a man again. The line must be drawn here!
You may know it not in your mind, bronies. But you know it in your hearts! Your souls! Your flesh! Today is a grand day! A day not of blood and iron, but of friendship and magic! Of love and tolerance! We shall not stand as our fellow ponies and fillies are doomed to fall at the hand of those not enlightened! To do so would be a crime to all ponies! Earth, unicorn, and pegasus! We shall not betray them! We shall not doom them! We shall spread the hope and light of to all of this thread, no. Of EoFF! Of the internet! Of all of mankind! Let them know joy! Friendship! Generosity! Laughter! Loyalty! Honesty! Kindness! Magic!!! Let them know the warmth of these things and let them embrace!
Ladies and gentlecolts, in the name of friendship we must all unite!

I would say you're beating a dead horse, but that would require your statement to make sense. :colbert:
This is all I have to say to you.
Hahahahahahahahah
It'll take more than that to defeat me.
all the pretty ponies
I see no Pinkie Pie, Rarity, Twilight Sparkle, Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash, or Applejack in there. Your argument is invalid.
You don't have to.
I never understand haters these days. I get that you can't all like the same thing, but you act like we're forcing you to like something, which we're not. I never get the whole "Oh but FiM is EVERYWHERE!" because the places people complain about it (YouTube, Deviantart) are places where you have to search for what you want. So don't search for ponies. It's that simple.
Also a forum having one thread dedicated to FiM is not FiM being "everywhere". I'm pleased that the fans are passionate enough to defend it, and I can actually prove that I'm a genuine fan (I'm only ever a fan of things I'm a fan of), and I accept that you and others don't like it, but I'm getting bored of this little war now, so could all the FANS of the show talk about the show, and the HATERS enjoy what they like.
I do not want to see this thread closed due to fighting and spam.
Don't worry bro, it's all in good fun.
Anyways, we still need Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy to be represented by members. Who's up for the challenge?
Let's get Freya to go for Pinkie Pie!
I have to say, I'm kinda surprised to see Fluttershy and Pinkie as the holdouts. Those are usually the popular ones..
I'll represent Fluttershy, she's my favorite. :monster:
I'm at school though and can't change my set. :(
This will do, unless somepony wants to make me a nice sig/ava set. :monster:
Excellent. Good job, ponybros. Now all we need is a Pinkie Pie and we'll be set.
Værn, my friend, you are glorious.
Discord is the best character.
I'm going to follow the advice of this show and not even complain that my pony is taken :)
I'll just find another pony to be instead~
Tank/Gummy ftw.
Tom IS best rock.
Tom is amazing.
Wtf is Derpy? o_O
Seriously, you never heard of Derpy?
EoFF is gradually getting better.
That it is. :)
That's alright, I'm not even sure I would have noticed if I wasn't told, but evidently a lot of people did the first time, and that lead to her becoming a character (she began as a mistake/oversight if anyone doesn't want to read the article). I may have mentioned this before, but back when I thought FiM was an internet thing (from seeing it on YouTube) I saw people commenting that they saw Derpy in some scenes, so I googled her, and went to the wikia. It was partly from reading that article more closer than the first time that I begain to realise that FiM was a real TV show.
Lol. Maybe I should go back and check that scene out.
Also, someone should be Gummy, as soon as someone claims Pinkie Pie too I guess.
Derpy's in pretty much every episode now, and getting more random. I think she's been in her halloween costume ever since nightmare night. I almost think its a challenge from the creators to the fandom, to come up with some plausible explanation for why she's in certain places.
Oh my God...
That was pretty cool. The creator didn't think so when I read the comments though, so it's pretty unlikely we may see a part II of the video.
:whoa:
now you're speaking my language
Anyhoo, still no takers for anyone to be Pinkie Pie?
Is Spike never going to grow up? D:
If you have seen the most recent episode, you'll see why he'll never be allowed to grow up.
I just saw it. It made me sad; he'll be two feet tall forever. :(
I'd disagree. If you follow that the dragon fluttershy chewed out was going to nap for 100 years, then it shows dragons having an unnaturally long lifespan. I kind of took the last episode to show that dragons were supposed to grow slowly as they accumulated more possessions, over several centuries. Spike went nuts and tried to steal a town, and ended up looking far more deformed than the other dragons we've seen so far, I took that to mean he was not aging naturally at all, but it an accelerated pace unusual for his species. I think the other two dragons support that too. They were definitely greedy jerks, but they weren't actively destroying towns, and they seemed to only take gold and jewels, which spike has naturally lusted after since the first few episodes. They seemed to have a much better handle on their greed.
I got the same impression as Ghandi; that Spike's growth in this ep was unnatural and he should grow like a normal dragon does :3
Okay, I hadn't thought about that. That's reassuring. :monster:
Ponies are coming along friends. Værn's is at the threshold of completion, with the remaining ponies at various stages of not as far as Værn's. That said, Eoff plushy request 1!
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...IMG_0413_2.jpg
Ghandi.
You are AWESOME.
I've been fighting these damned unicorn horns for days, and I think i've finally solved the problem. Strangely enough, Pinkies hair was easier than those damned horns. Unfortunately, this now means I have to redo another rarity's head for like, the fifth freaking time. S'all good though, solution found. However, after Fluttershy's wings and Rarities horn, i now have new respect for anyone willing to do an Alicorn. Forget that jazz...
Awesome. I'm not quite sure what to say... so I'll let Rainbow Dash take it from here :love::love:

You're often found diving into a book or spending hours working on that project of yours. It's important that you put in as much of an effort learning as possible so your knowledge will someday come in handy. Because of this, you may sometimes be skeptical of things that you don't have any proof of.
While you tend to be booksmart as opposed to streetsmart, you also tend to be a tad socially awkward, not always sure how well you fit in with your friends or maybe not even having a lot of them in the first place, but you're still a solid friend when it comes down to it and would be there to help any of them with their problems.
Even though you may be talented, you're the total opposite of a showoff, shying away from bragging or even talking about your talents. You don't want the world to think you're a braggart, after all. You're quite humble and modest, but you're also looking for acceptance and praise for your talents.
When I saw that you were the last person to post, I thought that Hypo's results were yours for a minute. I was very shocked. xD
That one makes much more sense. :monster:

Lol, not very surprising.Quote:
If there's one thing you know you are, it's #1! You tend to be competitive by nature and love to show off your talents at every available moment, but that's often because you've put in a lot of practice to perfect your techniques and want to take pride in your effort. Because of this, you sometimes get a little too proud, fearing competing if you don't feel you can win and getting hotheaded if someone questions your capabilities. You hate losing.
Even though you may be a bit self-centered, you still care deeply for your friends and would stand up for them no matter what. You're deeply loyal to them, even if you may not always show it. Just because they're not as talented as you doesn't mean they're worthless, because you love them for who they are, although you may still joke around and give them a hard time — really, who doesn't like a laugh? You're incredibly brave and will be the first one to volunteer to venture off into the unknown or stand up against an enemy, perhaps letting your impulses get a hold of you before a rational plan is actually thought of.
While a lot of ponies may care how they look or concern themselves over what they're doing, you always want to present yourself in the coolest way possible. Whatever someone else is, your goal is to be 20% cooler. Fashion and style are a waste of time to you, because you know that's not what determines how cool a pony is. And if you think dying your hair all of the colors of the rainbow will make you 20% cooler, hey, guess what, because you don't care about appearances, it does.
I got Rarity a few months ago.
I dont like my results
Okay, I've seen a couple of "Which Pony Are You?" tests, and some have been pretty badly done (I went on one and it asked "which of these is best" and then listed all the main ponies' elements - too obvious!) This test was pretty balanced in places, and not too obvious as to what you'd be getting, barring a couple of choices, but I answered as honestly as I could, and this is what I got;
http://www.bronyland.com/images/quiz..._applejack.jpg
Touch and go, I think - some of it suits me...Quote:
A real hard worker you are, yup. If there's one thing you hate, it's being inactive or coming across as lazy. You'll put in more effort than anyone else, even if it may be against your better judgement or even if delagating your work is a smarter option. It's not surprising to see you working all day long, even if it's to help friends out. However, friendship is still important to you, so you will always, always stick to your commitments and keep your promises.
You're a tell-it-like-it-is pony, not holding your tongue and telling whoever whatever's on your mind or what your true thoughts are. Thankfully, you can still pick your words carefully and still keep some sensitivity towards what you say. But, others may find you irritable in appearance if you're not getting your way or you feel against something.
You are also most likely to be athletic and into staying fit, knowing that if you're not, you won't be able to keep up with your work. Fashion and looking good aren't on the top of your priorities, to say the least. You also tend to be very protective of your friends, standing up for them against anyone who is causing them problems, and usually succeeding in warding off any foes. You'd gladly lose a limb if it meant saving a friend's life.
I'd rather some of the questions be mutliple choices though; I like music, art, lyrics, writing, and all, but I could only choose one (which I did randomly).
I got applejack...
The smurf?
The new Christmas ep was great (but then, hasn't this whole season been great?) Equestria now also has a national anthem, apparently? It's how it sounded to me, anyway!
Equestria also confirmed as being a country and not the entire world, from what I can tell. (SPOILER)Because the ponies traveled to a new land and named it Equestria.
I did this quiz yesterday, and my result looks like a three-way among Twilight Sparkle, Applejack, and Fluttershy. Hahahahaha
http://i42.:bou::bou::bou::bou::bou:...u:/10dyte0.jpg
No. If you look closely, it's closer to Twilight, so that was the actual result. :P
hey guys whats going on in this thread http://forums.eyesonff.com/images/eoff_smilies/cool.gif
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...tland-pony.jpg
i like ponies too.
While it is not my little pony, my hopes are staked for Christmas.
I got Twilight, but I also scored rather high for Rarity and Rainbow Dash.
I finally found a pony that works for me!
:radred:Succubus:radred:
http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h1.../devilpony.png
ok yeah i can get behind that pony
..... I'm a brony now.
^Nice, is it still FiM you like best or one of the others?
Apropos of nothing, I can't believe it took me this long to realize that the main characters are an equal list of each type of pony (not including "alicorns" or whatever they're called, but from what I gather that type's only avaliable to God-like ponies, or something). There's six of them, and there is two of each type.
Same goes with CMC actually.
I've only watched FiM, the old ones look awful.
hc, you want to call yourself a brony? Then do us fellow EoFF bronies a favor and adopt a Pinkie Pie avatar/sig set!
...
http://i198.photobucket.com/albums/a...dead_space.jpg
just add one on to me or something, I dont want to lose my sig, its not saved anywhere
Just change your avatar then if you want to keep your signature.
like this?
Pinkie Pie, not Derpy! D:
I could be Pinkie Pie if someone wanted to supply an awesome set. She is the closest thing to an avatar of chaos when Discord's not around, after all~
Bronies for the old show are almost non-existant.
They do exist, though.
Night of the Ponies - YouTube
Pretty much everything that video says.
I don't get this trout.
Oh, right. So do I count as a Brony or not? I'm confused now.
By the way, while I never took notice as the previous generations, I'm kind of greatful of their existance, as they lead up to FiM, if that makes sense.
Yes, as far as I'm concerned, a 'Brony' is a fan of the new generation 'My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.' cartoon. So, yeah, you do count as a Brony. Do you have to like the older generations of MLP to be a Brony? Nope.
I have a soft spot for earlier gens of MLP because I watched and enjoyed them (1st gen, anyway) when I was little. FiM is the best iteration of the show by far, but I still have a healthy respect for the earlier ones.
Let's turn that question around. Would someone who likes the older generations of MLP but not FiM be considered a brony?
(Completely hypothetical, of course. As far as I can tell, there are two types of people in the world: Those who like MLP:FiM, and those who haven't seen it yet.)
I've seen some pony forums that have been around for years and are mostly focused on toy collecting and some of the people there don't like FiM (mostly because they don't like the toy design). Most of them do not refer to themselves as bronies, because they see themselves as having been around "before" bronies.
Yeah, Pike is correct. The brony community was created purely for the new show.
That's probably because they never thought to refer to themselves as anything unique before FiM became big on the internet. If I was one of them, I'd insist that we were "true bronies," and that all the young whippersnappers mesmerized by the bright colors and flashy animation of the new generation are "neo-bronies."
It would be lulzy. The "neo-bronies" would be mad, and I doubt they'd be able to make a serious counter-argument that couldn't be shot down by, "We were collecting ponies before it was even cool." (This is assuming, of course, that the old generation collectors decided for some reason to go out of their way to try actively trolling bronies.)
I like this neo-bronies idea.
I've never seen the term used outside the context of FiM, but I'm not opposed a to broader reading of the term.
What sets it apart from earlier incarnations is the quality of the writing (which I rank up there with Avatar: The Last Airbender and Batman:TAS), which quite simply has a broader appeal. Hence the more diversified fanbase.
Discordantly: Discord's Story
A pretty awesome comic about Discord and Celestia. :O
smurfing epic.
The pet turtle? smurfing creepy. And awesome.
And the best part of any Cutie Mark episode is Applebloom randomly speaking 'fancy talk'.
Upon repeated viewings of Sweet and Elite, I've come to the conclusion Fluer de Lis is effing awesome. She needs more appearances.
Gonna get flamed like hell for this, but I recently saw "Secret Excess" (or whatever) and I thought the ending was really "aww". Sorry guys.
Ah yes, the day of a thousand burgeoning Rarity-Spike fanfics....
Do we have a Pinkie Pie yet? I can't switch now because I've already started my Discord shenanigans.
Is that the Spike ep? I loved that ending.
And no I don't think anyone has claimed Pinkie Pie yet. Pinkie's official response:

Just a sec, Ill be Pinkie Pie
<3 Hypo
Perfect. Just perfect. <3<3<3
Do we have anyone as Big Mac yet? Cause I'd totally rock a Big Mac set.
Do it! Do it!
DO IT
Don't people ship Big Mac and Fluttershy? :|
Some do. I'm not much of a big supporter of that shipping though.
Hey, Agent Proto, did you open that "gift" I sent you? You should use it. It will make you about 20% cooler
I don't need your corrupted gift, Værn!
Too late, it looks like you've already opened it!
Somepony needs to become corrupted at some point, but everypony's being as stubborn as a mule. Especially Rarity. :colbert:
As long as I have my awesome wings, I'll forever be 20% cooler than the other ponies. AWW YEAH! Hook me up!
Edit: I also want to add that this is awesome: http://youtu.be/_HhoIku_-yM
Fluttermac is best ship, second only to Lyra and BonBon. Then again, Lyra and BonBon are like 75% cannon...
However, it stands to be noted that as the manliest(stallioniest?) of all ponyville stallions, and with the substantial lack of stallions in the first place, Big Macintosh pretty much could have his pick of the litter IMHO. Big Macintosh has Old Spice Guy levels of epic swagger.
