Terry fined £220,000 and gets a four match ban - so half the ban Suarez got.

My body is ready.
If there was one flaw about Kenny, it's that he carried on picking underperforming players like Adam, Downing and Henderson. What I do like about Rodgers is that he doesn't give a smurf, if you're doing well, he'll pick you. If you'd asked me at the start of the season whether I'd see a league game in September where Suso, Sterling and Wisdom started, I'd wonder if half the team had broken their legs.
It's great to see young players actually being given a chance. You hear rumours of your youngsters, about how so-and-so is going to be the next Owen/Gerrard/Messi etc. and then they fade into obscurity. A huge overhaul was done of our academy under Rafa where we basically nicked a whole bunch of Barca's staff, and the benefits of it are starting to show. Not saying THIS IS OUR YEAR btw, or even FIVE YEARS TIME IS OUR YEAR, just saying it's more satisfying to see them than expensive players born in the north east of England. Not naming any names, like.
Oh man, did we suck in that first half yesterday. We were incredible in the second, but one half does not a victory make. :( We haven't had a game that has really convinced me so far this season. Wigan doesn't count, they're Wigan. Getting four goals against them is pretty standard.
Wasn't expecting a win at Stoke, but we were the better team in the second half. Three losses on the trot though...
Is anyone else sharing my terrible gambling addiction this season? too many teams on one accumulator list.
I'm currently about £65 up this season, on a lucky streak of a few trebles and first goalscorer flutters. It's not a gambling addiction if you're winning!
Then for me It's an addiction.... too many accumulators with the one or two odd teams letting me down, not to mention In play betting.
That 25 Million was well spent so far aye QPR!...
Good to see Newcastle returning to their traditional role as a points and goal difference bonanza for Man Utd.
Can't deny the class of a goal that was From Tom Cleverly, whether he meant to go for goal or not.
smurf off tony pulis you hypocritical troutstain.
Wah wah Suarez dived. Which, let's be honest, he clearly did. But having a hissy fit and saying he's a cheat and should be retrospectively punished? Remind me again about how, just a few weeks ago, you said it was perfectly fine for Peter Crouch to handball it to score? And in this very game, Robert Huth, no doubt on your instructions, stamped on Luis Suarez deliberately. That's just as much cheating as diving. In fact, it's worse, because nobody gets broken ribs from diving.
Hope Stoke get relegated soon, sod off Pulis you twat.
let me guess, the people at your work think tony pulis is a great manager :colbert:
I don't even care anymore though because I have just learned that Jonjo Shelvey, Hero of all Football, has made the full England squad. :excited:
Liverpool... Lol
Ha, Liverpool have actually played some good stuff this season. It's just the end product.
Your plight does amuse me though...
This is the fourth season (and fourth manager) where we've been like this. Liverpool: USELESS MID-TABLE OUTFIT WITH 0 STRIKERS is hardly breaking news anymore! I've said it in this thread, but there is a disproportionate amount of attention given to LFC, both in the media and by fans of other teams in this very thread, compared to how important or relevant they are to the Premier League. I mean, I smurfing give the team attention no matter how trout we are as that's what a supporter does, but haven't you lot got anything better to do, like eat prawn sandwiches? :doublecolbert:
Also, can't everyone put aside their love of failing miserably at trying to score points off me and unite against a common enemy in Stoke? Come on now. None of you will ever win against me! You are the Liverpools of this thread!
Ohhh burn.
Suarez is indeed a diving whore however Pulis really does have a cheek. He coaches arguably the dirtiest side the Premierahip has ever seen. Don't forget this is the same premiership that had Wimbledon and suffered numerous Sam Allerdyce teams. They really are a terrible football club with classless fans and I am worryingly on the side of that Scouse lover when I say I'd be glad to see the back of them.
You're alright Cuch. You're alright. :aimkiss:
Also, BoB, kind of harsh on The Captain!
Pulis is full of BS, and his Stoke side really are hideous.
It's because you post the most and you're just so darn entertaining.
Although I can agree with you about Stoke, not looking forward to playing them in a couple of weeks all I can hope for is that they only injure a couple of our players. I wish they'd go down into the depths of hell (Championship) where they belong.
There's just this special kind of schadenfreude when it comes to Liverpool.
England - expected
Ireland - ouch
Chris Mitchell on Twitter: "Absolutely pathetic from England. Aside from Wayne Rooney the players and especially the manager should be embarrassed."
oh no how dare england only win 5-0 in a world cup qualifier

Be honest, is this video of you? Football fan loses the plot - Arsenal vs. Newcastle 4-4 - Videos - MetaTube
(bad language don't watch at work etc)
Actually the Newcastle game didn't annoy me too much for some odd reason. Or indeed the 8-2 at Old Trafford. And I get hacked off all the time with bad results.
edin dzeko f.c forever.
Well to be fair it was probably more around the same time you decided to support united because of your shame of the state of Irish football and the knowledge you'd never get any glory unless you picked the big guns in England. :)
answer the question kid. Your reply makes absolutely no sense.

In other news, Raheem Sterling is no longer a concern now that based Pablo and based Michu make me realise there are better things in life than laughing at Lolverpool.
Not many things, mind you.
Pay attention to us :(
We're still relevant
WE HAVE HISTORY
COME BACK :whimper:
Fair enough. It would seem we chose to follow our clubs when they were on similar standards. In case you're wondering. Ron Atkinson, Paul McGrath, Norman Whiteside, Remi Moses, Bryan Robson, Jesper Olssen, Colin Gibson, Mark Hughes et al. I was at old trafford in 1986 i think, very oung we played Luton i think we won 3-0. Hughes scored cant remember who else. Oh I remembered Duxberry. I thought he'd look like a Duck...He didnt look like a duck.
Mr DK. I apologise.
All three games against Liverpool last season I felt you should've been there for the taking and all three were disappointing. I think if Fellaini isn't back your life will be made significantly easier.
Also g'job Norwich. Always had a bit of a soft spot for you.
Liverpool always seem to have the edge over Everton. No matter who's in form they usually (noy always but usually) come out on top.
No need for that cuch, I was actually quite pleased that there was an opportunity for trout slinging at each other for once. Usually all of your ammo gets blasted at Paul, and he doesn't like it when you don't give him all your attention in the football thread. I felt special. :aimkiss:
In other news, ahahahahahahha norwich I love you.
There's something about Heath's avatar that makes me think he's Jess whenever I see it out of the corner of my eye.
Mersyside Derby AND Chelsea v Man Utd and no posts?! Not even any insults?!
Predictions?
1-0 Everton
3-2 Utd
I'm an Everton season ticket holder and will be attending my first Merseyside derby tomorrow.
My prediction?
6-0 Liverpool.
Top quality wind-up celebration from Suarez there :)
And Neville getting booked for diving :D
Good game so far.
This does not come easily to say so I hope you all appreciate how difficult this is for me.
Okay....Liverpool were robbed and we got a bit of luck....
Now if you'll excuse me I need to pour bleach on fingers
Liverpool were unlucky with the goal that was disallowed, though frankly, in my completely unbiased opinion, we would've been very hard done by to have lost that game. Also fair play to Rodgers as well, who in the interview I heard didn't dwell on the potential third goal at all.
I think, aside from a terrible first twenty minutes, we never seriously looked like losing that game. Having said that, at 2-0 down after twenty minutes, I was thinking I might have to revise my 6-0 prediction up slightly. It would've been nice to beat Liverpool, but I'll settle for a point. The lack of Pienaar and Gibson was plain for all to see today, in which we struggled to control the midfield and everything had to go through Fellaini or Baines.
The crowd were on Suarez's back all afternoon which wasn't surprising, though he didn't help himself. I did, however, rather enjoy the fan behind me who shouted, without a hint of irony, about Suarez being a 'racist foreign bastard.'
Who doesn't love Luis?
And I mean let's be honest, even if you hate him, you love him. Football is much more boring without guys like him in it.
I probably love him about as much as Liverpool fans love Evra or Rooney.
I'd just like to post an extract from one of my favourite BBC Sport articles in a while:
Steven Gerrard likens Everton to Stoke
Given that going into this weekend we'd also registered the joint highest shots on target in the League, and had hit the woodwork more than any other team in the Premier League, I imagine Tony Pulis was quite flattered by the comparison.Quote:
Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard has likened Everton to Stoke, claiming their rivals used long-ball tactics during Sunday's Merseyside derby.
The Premier League match at Goodison Park ended 2-2 after Luis Suarez's late 'goal' for Liverpool was ruled out.
Gerrard, 32, said: "Every single time they get the ball to the goalkeeper it comes in long.
"There was only one team who came to play football and that was us. Everton are not better than us."
The statistics, however, showed that Everton enjoyed greater possession, made more passes and completed proportionally fewer long passes than Liverpool.
Also what the hell, Reading. You were 4-0 up! How have you been taken to extra time? Dramatic last ditch goal by Arsenal though.
Phil Dowd must have been refereeing our match this evening.
I don't want to speak too soon, but I think you might have just about got away with it!
Edit: Yeah, I think that 7th goal might just about do it! What a phenomenal result.
Incredible game. 7-5! Chamakh scored twice too, the shock and horror of it all.
CHICOOOOOO
0-0, 1-0 and 3-1. Swansea City confirmed for being Liverpool's bogey team.
I think we may have edged that game if Ferguson saw fit to play a defence that didn't consist of players who's previous first team experience (excluding Rafael) didn't collectively amount to about 6 games. Quick not, I'm not grumbling but 3 minutes of stoppage time were due. Chelsea get a penalty in the 4th minute. I wonder how many will moa about it.
That smurf the defeat came in the Reserve Cup and not where it mattered.
Well there's the first Mickey Mouse Cup comment - care to have a go BoB? Psychotic?
We got knocked out by Leeds in the previous round. Am I still eligible to make a Mickey Mouse Cup comment?
I'd love it to matter more. I'd love every team to play their first 11 and make it matter. However it's not my fault they don't. The fact is teams play their reserves or players needing games in this competition. That game ended basically Chelsea's strongest team against out kids, reserves & Javier Hernandez. It's really hard to take it completely seriouslty. I like when we win a game in it and when we lose I'm not entirely happy but it doesn't affect me the same way a defeat in Europe or the League does. Just the way it is mate, Reserves make up the teams & it's going that way in the FA Cup too.
The fact the League Cup is low on the priority list for most teams kind of works in its favour. Teams just go for it and you get crazy, entertaining games like we had this week.
I think charliepanayi is right.
While I personally sometimes don't like the fact that the likes of Arsenal, etc field second string teams, I think it makes the League Cup much more open than the FA Cup and often has more upsets, like Bradford's result against Wigan yesterday. And while it might be frustrating seeing my team knocked out by lower league opposition (cf. Brentford and Leeds in recent years) when we do put out second string teams, at least it means the make-up of the subsequent rounds is a bit more exciting. The League Cup will never have the magic of the FA Cup, but I think it can be just as entertaining.
If every team played their strongest 11 would we really see teams like Leeds and Middlesbrough to get as far as they have? Boro probably because Sunderland are actually pretty damn terrible at the moment and seeing the mackems get beat always puts a smile on my face so yeah, maybe Boro could but still...
Also the match tonight was hilarious, Nani's temper tantrums were worth watching!
I think the League Cup would be better if it was just for teams who aren't playing in European competition - it should be noted that despite the top teams fielding youngsters and fringe players etc in early rounds, the winners of the League Cup over the last eight years have been by and large the usual suspects - Chelsea (x 2), Man Utd (x 3), Liverpool and Tottenham. If Arsenal hadn't been so useless against Birmingham, the list of winners in recent years would have been even more predictable.
We deserved to lose because a young defence conceded penalties in a way that they will hopefully learn from very quickly. After it reached extra time, our poor fellas in central defence never had the legs to handle the fast players coming at them. I felt a bit sorry for them at that point, but remembered how obvious they made the penalties and took it back. Keane was great, though.
Still proud of the team and after the last two games and how exciting / entertaining they were, I just hope we get Chelsea in the FA Cup and Champions League, too. Fantastic games! Everyone at work was going on about the quality of the game last night rather than who won.
I AM DISGUSTED AND I CUT UP MY PICTURE OF NEIL RUDDOCK AND THREW IT IN THE BIN :whimper:
RIP LFC 1892-2012
That was a game far too close for comfort, no clue what Coloccini was thinking with that tackle but a point's a point!
While I like the fact that we've only lost one of our last 19 matches, I'm not so happy we've drawn our last 4. Especially when we totally dominated Fulham. Having said that, we're 4th after 10 games and that was the litmus test I'd set myself before I started to get optimistic about a good season.
Another good performance, another set of points dropped. Transition season and all that. Kind of relegation form though, so stepping it up a gear into lower-midtable form would be lovely.
How incredible was that from Luis Suarez though? He is head and shoulders above everyone else in this team. Definitely the most technically gifted player I've ever seen play for Liverpool. I'd put him up there with the likes of Bergkamp and Le Tissier - I just don't even comprehend what he does with the ball, let alone being able to copy it. Thank god he has a... lively... character so that more successful teams don't want to take him off our hands. Van Persie and Aguero aside, I don't think there is another forward in the Premier League who is at his level. I shudder to think where we'd be without him.
Next year is our year? Really? Hey, have you heard about these "Chuck Norris" jokes doing the rounds? Man, you'd love 'em.
Where do you think Liverpool will finish this season? If you had to predict?
If we don't buy a good striker in January, 13th. If we do, maybe 8th if we have a post-January surge.
I don't normally believe in kicking a man when he's down, but I really couldn't resist:
Liverpool release 'eyesore' Hawaiian-style stadium shirt | Metro.co.uk
http://img.metro.co.uk/i/pix/2012/11...33_636x385.jpg
And a steal at only £40!
The football thread community needs to club together to buy me that.
I wish I could comment on this board, but all that goes on is a lot of hate, and being a west ham fan, I can't make any hate jokes...... Though seeing as City couldn't get the three points against us and are ballsing up my accumulator can I atleast say that Mancini has wasted alot of money?.... Chelsea fans can't be happy about now.... I MEAN city fans...
If it makes you feel any better, I'd be happy to pick you up an Everton scarf at the next home game.
Come back when you've won the Capital One Cup.
I will!
I think I've woken up in 2011. And I like it. :excited:
For the avoidance of doubt, normal service has resumed. Everton are doing their level best to punish me for having a degree of optimism about this season. We're not going to finish anywhere near 4th if we continue having 20+ shots a game and not winning.
Oh Everton, why must you break my heart so.
Don't worry Heath, you have Arsenal at home in ten days or so, that's a banker for Everton right there, especially if Santos plays any of it.
Still, at least we can still beat Spurs, cheer Adebayor. And at least we're not QPR.
why the living smurf would anyone
ANYONE
want to manage chelsea
oh wait money n/m
To be fair, if Chelsea offered the job to me, I'd do it. I'd probably do it just for the massive pay off when I inevitably get sacked.
So come and get me, Roman! I once took Tranmere Rovers to the UEFA Cup final!*
*In Football Manager 2009
Millwall. Premier League winners. 1999-2000. Ah, Darren Eadie, Lee Hendrie and Emile Heskey. Those were the days my friends.
I took a BSN side through to the Champions League final and won every trophy that last season. Of course, I did lose more than twice somewhere along the way, so I might not be the guy that Roman is after.
I honestly don't remember. If it was in a division higher than League Two, pretty much every club had their opportunity to whoop me at some point, often in cup games when I got a bad draw or two. I think I lasted fourteen seasons or something in that game...
Benitez appointed Chelsea manager until the end of the season.
Why do Chelsea take all my favourite things away from me :(
Rafa, Torres, Mereiles, Benayoun.
AND ALL WE GET IS JOE smurfING COLE
We're going to finish second in our group and get Barcelona again clearly.
So I spent most of Wednesday in work hearing the sentence 'can you believe di Matteo has been sacked?!' to today with people saying 'can you believe Hughes has only been sacked now?!' Displeased by the return of Benitez, and imminent threat return of Harry 'can't speak without sitting in a Range Rover' Redknapp.
I'll be at Goodison tomorrow to see us have 90 shots on target and lose 2-1.
How on earth can anybody dislike Rafa? Well, I guess Everton because he said you were a small club for coming to Anfield and playing for a draw. But come on. The man is a smurfing lunatic. He's full on insane. And that's great entertainment. Di Matteo, nice fella, don't get me wrong, but he's bloody boring.
I think Rafa is a great manager for them to get under the circumstances. What decent manager on earth would want to go to Chelsea? Every manager that has gone there has taken a hit to their career. As for Di Matteo, probably the worst sacking I've ever seen.
'Arry to become new QPR manager apparently.
Del Bosque being sacked by Real Madrid in the early 2000s is still the daftest sacking ever.
Redknapp out
Today an injury-riddled Everton squad attempted to play football while Norwich tried their level best to play rugby. Everton also played terribly in the second half, and Mr. Moyes felt it pertinent to use no substitutes until the 90th minute after Norwich had just equalised. Quelle surprise! It makes no difference whatsoever and we throw away two points again.
Having said that, Bryan Oviedo looks pretty great. I'm looking forward to seeing him and Kevin Mirallas play together.
Come on guys, what are your predictions for today? See if I fancy following them for my bets...
Given that Downing and Henderson are in the XI, Swansea 5 Liverpool 0. And Nigel Farage will post a selection of amusing gifs about it being someone's year.
Kind of painful watching Torres go down so melodramatically on occasion and then watching him get literally pushed over on a couple of other occasions. He's earning his reputation and suffering from the results in the same match. He and the City defenders could easiliy have both been booked.
:aimkiss: I missed the game, as I was in a Verdi concert (long story). I hear it was pretty boring, though.
Super Sunday was far from super...
My contribution to this thread is that I'm a Norwich City supporter. As though I lived in London for most of my younger years I was born in Norwich and spent around 6 years there so no glory hunting here - big up the home town!
I've yet to hear of anyone ever accusing a Norwich supporter of being a glory hunter. I think you're safe.
I had quite a soft spot for Norwich until last weekend (still do to be fair, lovely city). Of course, they'll always have a special place in my heart for one particularly beautiful moment.
Also, while I'm posting vaguely related YouTube videos, have we all seen Joey Barton's sequel to Steve McClaren's infamous Dutch accent video? Apparently he's from the Huyton just outside of Marseille.
Hmm. I've been to Manchester. On a train! Left on a plane. Did bugger all in between. xD
Personally, I support Spain, Barcelona and Manchester City. Also Rochdale.
Happy with a 1-0 win but still far from convincing. City still look like strong favourites for the title. Liverpool still playing well but far too lightweight upfront. We'll see what the transfer window brings. Chelsea are settling into where I thought they'd be this year.
EDIT: Gareth Bale's own goal is officially the funniest of all time.
Great day for the underdog teams! Chelsea getting wasted is brilliant. And I want to put Swansea smashing Arsenal in with this, but...considering the way the seasons gone so far, Swansea actually pretty good value for that hammering, Arsenal are a bag of troute.
Most of all though, minnows Liverpool squeaked past Southampton 1-0! I'm so proud.
Everton's last 8:
W:1
L: 1
D: 6 (two of which we were winning until the 90th minute).
Agree with Dan that I'm pleased with the Swansea and West Ham results. I just wish I was pleased with our results! :p
Haha Arsenal are so bad they're next to us in the table! :)
Although Luis Suarez just got suspended so we now have 0 strikers for the West Ham game. You lucky smurfer, Scotty. :colbert:
Oh my god xD 23 minutes in and reading 3-2 up. what a smurfing calamity this game must be. but still, go on reading you heroes. make it the best day of all days.
Does Fergie get off on coming from behind or something?
As we often say in the slums of south Wales - "I smurfing loves it!"
As a Utd fan, I can honestly say we don't deserve to be where we are. We were outplayed at Anfield, outplayed at Stamford Bridge... Hell, even at Southampton.
But still... we are where we are. We've had our share of luck but our will to win is second to none.
I may sound pessimistic here but... City will have this league sown up with two games to spare.
No bugger off I'm the pessimistic Manchester club fan around here I'm not having you biting my gimmick :colbert: United will win the derby and push on to win the league and then we'll sack Mancini, hire Graeme Souness, buy Phil Jagielka in the January transfer window and finish outside of Europa league qualifying spots. :doublecolbert:
Not as hard as I will, I assure you.
I dunno, aren't City overdue a Villa player? I hear Bent's not getting the gametime he feels he deserves. You guys need strikers, right?
>that feel when no charliepanayi this weekend
Glad to see that true Reds for life Rafa and Torres are finally able to undertake their master plan of destroying Chelsea from within together. Now if only we could get them both to Man Utd.......
So, are these rumors of Pep going to Chelsea in the summer really real or just real?
Take care all.
He'd be a lunatic to go there, any manager would. Worst job in football.
I don't think he'd be a lunatic - I'd be happy to get offered to do the job I already do for a contract of five years, do it for one, have the contract terminated and still be paid for the amount I'd have earned over the next four years in a lump sum. Seriously, that's just instant money and you can carry on looking for another job where they treat you with a bit of respect. I think Pep has more principles than that, though he might like the challenge.
No way in hell that Rafa would ever get a look-in at United! The directors here seem to have more sense than those at Stamford Bridge.
Matt Busby was a former Liverpool player. ;) But no, Rafa "Worse than Martin O'Neill" Benitez would never get the United job. Speaking of, how's Martin "Spent £25m" O'Neill doing this season? :greenie:
Also I bet Pep would flop at Chelsea. Then again I also bet Van Persie would have a trout season and Old Manus is already lining up his quotes for the end of season mock post, so I shouldn't talk too much. :shobon:
:aimkiss: (I also backed RVP to crash and burn this season. I have duly added my post to trouteofferssaid2012-13.txt)
Also smurf Norwich. It's probably the most boring city in the country and we keep losing to them. Grant smurfing Holt.
Everton play Spurs today. So I'll be spending my afternoon freezing, watching Everton valiantly battle to another 1-1/2-2 draw.
Rafa seems to have got Torres scoring again, which is good news for Chelsea.
...all aboard the phil jagielka train! I can hear it thundering into the station as we speak.
Oh, that one rich Manchester club beat that other one rich Manchester club. I forget though, which one is the evil one and which one is the good one?
In other news "Stewart Downing comes in for the suspended Luis Suarez" nope sorry that's it. I don't like football anymore. Nice knowing you chaps. Toodle-oo.
GET IN!!!!!
I see city fans showed their class at thr end as did the wanker Tevez.
Attachment 38326
Van Persie made me a crisp twenty pound note today and for that I am thankful.
Also, I am a man of (limited) principles, and I know when I'm wrong. Therefore, on today's evidence, I admit that...I admit...Glen Johnson is...he's...he's a goo-
I'm sorry, I just can't.

Who's laughing now?
HintMe :)
And then I wake up to realise that I am just a West Ham fan, and Anything I say/the team does well will turn around to bite me on the ass.... Still could have got the point though... smurfing Collins
I was bloody freezing today, but I'll take three points as compensation. With the City result today, only Everton and Stoke are unbeaten at home. Our next game is at the Britannia, and I'll be very pleased if we can make it so that Stoke are no longer part of that list.
What a day of football. Three comebacks. I nearly knocked over the christmas tree in the sittingroom when Van Persie scored. Football can be just magnificent at times!
Poor charliepanayi
Mighty mighy Bradford, me and paul used their glorious pink away kit for The Whale FC on fifa. what a team of heroes.
I quite liked that story about the Udinese fan - he seemed to take it in good spirits.
I just can't believe that a club of Udinese's stature can only manage one away fan. o_o
You know when Snake discovers the name of the giant mech that will yet again serve as the boss before the last one? And he says its name out loud in an incredulous way? That tone of voice, right?
Stewart... Downing?!
ban kicking footballs too hard
my thoughts are with chez van persie at what must be a very troubling time
If that's the most dangerous thing Fergie's ever seen in football you have to wonder where he was for Cantona's kung fu kick, Keane on Haaland, or indeed whenever Paul Scholes attempted to make a tackle throughout his entire career.
Oh well, that sure called my attention away from Man City gaining 2 points on them this weekend!
I keep coming back to this thread waiting for Cuchulainn to appear with his St John's Ambulance First Aid Level 1 certificate, claiming that getting swiftly to one's feet and grabbing your attacker by the scruff of the neck is a textbook presentation of serious concussion and attempted murder.
For a while there I thought we only posted in this thread when Liverpool lose.
That took entirely too much effort. We've now narrowed it down to "When Liverpool lose by 2 or more goals" though we're thinking of upping it to 3.
Severely disappointed Newcastle didn't manage to get anything out of that match but even worse the paupers from down the road managed to win.
To be fair, Gateshead were always expected to beat the team at the bottom of the league.
Of course but they're a shadow of their former selves without that Gareth Gates character, they obviously have no ambition if they think Will Young can get them somewhere instead.
Fergie's commments were insane, however it was still a supremely dirty thing Williams did and pretty dangerous. He meant it, anyone who says he never's smurfign moron. He should get a 3 game ban.
On to today, Another insane game of football where we can't smurfing defend. We're lucky we have a top strikeforce.
Agreed, this much is clear. Considering you have to go down to Fulham in 14th to find a team with a worse defensive record. We'll come unstuck again guaranteed though when our strikeforce has another off day. Obviously more than happy with a seven-point cushion at the top though... especially when you consider we've already played a lot of tough away games (Everton, Chelsea, Liverpool, City) and generally come away with all three points.
I don't want to get all Kevin Keegan on you, but I would love it if we beat Chelsea and Benitez tomorrow, though I don't see it happening. I do rather like this four horse race for 4th between West Brom, Spurs, Everton and Arsenal at the moment (all on 33 points, Arsenal on 30 with a game in hand), though I suspect that Spurs and Arsenal are more likely to pip us to 4th.
Well I guess Rafa isn't such a knob after all.
I'm predicting a 3-1 win for Utd today and I think City might run riot today against Norwich like they did last season... they're due a hamering after playing so well recently. I'm confident that Chelsea will drop points away at Goodison tomorrow too. Our first game of the season against the toffees was the only game so far I've seen where we've been completely outplayed. I'd take David Moyes for the next Utd manager when Fergie steps down.
The Premier League - where defences go to die.
And if Liverpool would be so good as to lose to Mansfield in the FA Cup that would be great, as then people might forget about us falling on our backsides against Bradford.
Huh? People still give a trout about Liverpool?
Ah, right on cue, good ol' charliepanayi returns.
I just need a Premier League team to lose to a team that's below Division Three! Mansfield v Liverpool was the first tie that came to mind.
Anyway here's to a 5-5 draw to Southampton on Tuesday.
15 mins gone. QPR 0-2 Luis Suarez. He could score ten if QPR continue in the same vein.
ahahahah harry redknapp
the premier league is so smurfed up right now
Does anyone still care about FF? I had Walcott as captain last gameweek - 52 points! My highest ever.
Anywho, I agree our defense has been awful, although with Vidic back we should be more tight. I shudder to think what we will be like against Real if we defend the way we have against the likes of Newcastle and so on.
I think I put Suarez and Michu in my team and then forgot about it. I sure hope I did.
I'm still doing FF, as I have sums of money riding on it in different leagues. The EoFF league inexplicably remains the toughest one.
In other news, Demba Ba in talks with Chelsea. I may be missing something here, but why are so many PL transfers domestic? The prices are ridiculous. Chelsea only want Ba because he did well at Newcastle; it's not like he was a trout player before that. I would have thought teams such as Chelsea would have vast scouting networks to pick up foreign talent before they came to the PL and added a magical £10M onto their price tag. I can't remember when the Swans last signed a domestic player. Pablo Hernandez has caps for Spain and has played in the Champions League, and he only cost 5 million.
That's a good point, but he is only going for 7M I believe, that's what his release clause is anyway.
Still, teams like Man City and Chelsea probably don't give a toss about bringing up youth (Man City is coming bottom of the under-21 league last time I checked). When you have money to burn it's just a case of who they can bring in who's best regardless of any kind of money. Youth systems are becoming meaningless to the mega-rich clubs, but why wouldn't it when you can buy a ready made player?
Demba Ba costs £7.5m, Daniel Sturridge £12m. Mugged.
Say what you want about Harry Redknapp but he was spot on here.
I think Sturridge is a great signing for L'pool. Ba would have been a better option probably but when Chelsea were interested with just Torres up front it would have been an easy decision. No offence intended!
Well they are desperately in need of someone and I reckon this could work out for all parties. He's couldn't get into the Chelsea or Man City team and he's obviously gonna get games now. It'll be interesting to see what kind of impact him and Suarez can have.
I'll see first hand next weekend anyway. My new girlfriend's Dad has given us his tickets for the game at Old Trafford on the 13th. Bring it on!
In other news, news of the highest levels of comedy, apparently today in training Mad Mario Balotelli floored Scott Sinclair, which enraged Mad Mancini to the point that he decided to kick the trout out of Mario. I'm sure I should be concerned at this news but the pictures of Bobby Mancini learning Mario amuse me too much. Surely this must be the end of the road for him now, can't see super Mario sticking around too long after this. Must have more to do with the ridiculous amount of untaken chances Mancini's given to him finally boiling over, rather than just a poor tackle on a guy who has played like two games for us.
re: Sturridge, I'm not really sure what he is expecting. He's said he doesn't want to play on the left or right, but Suarez is ridiculously broken this season in the middle of the 4-3-3 so there's no way he'll oust him on a permenant basis. It will be interesting to see how it plays out I guess but unless there's a change in formation or they start resting Suarez, he's probably going to be in the same situation he has been at least until the end of the season when someone inevitably pinches Luis (sorry pauw but you may as well start preparing yourself for the blow now)
Luis is going to stay for at least another year or two I think, even if he is miles too good for us. I think he'd already be at somewhere like Barca if he wasn't such a liability with the whole randomly biting/handballing/racisming/diving his way to glory thing. I've never seen a more skilful or talented player in the Premier League, or more of a raging :bou::bou::bou::bou:. I love him and I love that everyone else hates him. He's a monster.
Also Mancini should've done that to Mario a long time ago. It is p. genius.
Liverpool playing United, Arsenal and City in 3 of our next 4 Prem games and I think we all know that at least one of those games is going to end with a 5 or so goal humiliation. I'm going to do a panayi now. See y'all in March. Oh, one last thing before I do, before United beast us and I kill myself. FAO: Loony BoB.

Because you are scared of him and because it upset you so much last time. :)
He obviously thought that some random fan he'd never met had invaded his training session.Quote:

Cheer Liverpool if you think they're the worst team in England! It's almost as stupid as sayingQuote:

Dude, what are you on!? That's offensive to your own history of players, let alone those that have played for other clubs.
Luis Suarez > Van Persie, Ronaldo, Rooney, Scholes.
I know I'm supposed to reply to all trolling from you seriously, but even I have my limits. :S
You could've at least waited for Cuch to bite too. :colbert:
Also yes I love Luis but he is not half the man or player Ian Rush was.
A striker who usually needs 10 chances a game to get a goal is not a great striker. This is why I think Suarez wouldn't lace Demba Ba's boots this season let alone Van Persie's. :aimkiss:
You know how you're a good artist, Donal? If Suarez wanted he could kick a ball with paint on it into a wall and make a picture you could only dream of.
Also Van Persie plays with Carrick (United's best player this season in all seriousness btw), Rooney, Kagawa, Scholes, Valencia, Nani etc. Suarez plays with Downing, Henderson, "The Welsh Xavi" and a bunch of 12 year olds. Van Persie has the greatest manager English football has ever seen. Suarez has David Brent. If Suarez played for United he'd have 49 goals by now :colbert:
smurf up
Don't you at least want to call me a wee ballbag? :(
I'm not even going to bite the 'Welsh Xavi' bait. Joe Allen is better than Xavi. In fact, he's the most talented and skilful DM Europe has ever seen.
Joe Allen is trout and you smurfing mugged us you bastards. :colbert:
I disagree with both parts of your argument. :colbert:
But the point I'll talk about is that Suarez plays as a lone striker. Van Persie plays with Rooney/Hernandez up front where (you would think) the goals will be shared between them for the season. Its the reason why Van Persie has 9 assists this season and not more goals. Same with Ba with Cisse (although Cisse is awful this season).
Theo was recently put into the central striker role and now he is banging them in for Arsenal. Same with Michu for Swansea (who have a worse midfield than yours). My point is that when you have a lone striker, everything is filtered through that striker. I'm not saying Suarez is bad by any means, he's world class but I've seen him play a lot and he is not the finished article, particularly when it comes to finishing. 15 EPL goals is great though so maybe I am talking troute. But best in the EPL? Not even in the top 4. I wonder what he would be like in a kind of Hazard role though?
Oh and, Liverpool do not have a bad midfield. Allen didn't work out for you nor did Henderson, but Gerrard has been in great form of late and Sterling has done a fine job all season. Dare I say it, but even Downing has been looking decent lately. :|
So, Joe Cole isn't that trout after all.
What about Andy Carroll?
He's still trout.
The FA Cup could yet see us win something this season...oh no wait, we're going out tomorrow.
Ah... Van Persie. Where would we be without you?
Not in the FA Cup, that's for sure. Although then again, who knows how things would have been in the final minutes with Hernandez still on? Anything can happen with United, it seems.
