ONE FAMILY
For a split second after seeing the image I thought Tarzan II somehow made it onto your list :Oo:
Good god no.
Tarzan and Jane might make the list. This scene where Tarzn literally surfs down the lava on an erupting volcano is some of Disney's best work
Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
I mean, Tarzan is not a bad movie, but NUMBER TWO?!
I hate Phil Collins so much.
Phil Collins is a worse villain than Kefka and Sephiroth combine.
With only one entry left on the list I'm beginning to think there'll be no forced mating at all
My general response to this confusion (thx shorty):
https://31.media.tumblr.com/6ff6bd29...YXf1rg0g8s.gif
This is the rest of our "Top Twenty", so these are essentially the honourable mentions!
Lilo & Stitch (Matt: 17, Shauna: 12, Score: 14.5)
The Little Mermaid (Matt: 26, Shauna: 3, Score: 14.5)
Brave (Matt: 15, Shauna: 17, Score: 16)
A Goofy Movie (Matt: 7, Shauna: 33, Score: 20)
Frozen (Matt: 21, Shauna: 20, Score: 20.5)
Cinderella (Matt: 39, Shauna: 5, Score: 22)
Lady and the Tramp (Matt: 32, Shauna: 13, Score: 22.5)
We had to both really enjoy the movies for them to make this list. So while perhaps looking at our individual Top lists you may go "Yes, I see that this is acceptable", they need to cross over on both our lists. Which is how weird ones like Tarzan sneak their way in, perhaps not the greatest by any means, but if they hit the right chord with both of us... Here they are.
I like the honorable mentions. Loved Lady and the Tramp as a kid. Made me want a puppy. Too bad I was allergic to dogs. Smurfing allergies.
I have no idea what the #1 spot is going to be.
Hopefully they pick something a little more out there. It would be topsy turvy if one of the best disney movies didnt even make the top 20. God help the outcast who doesnt like this movie. The Court of Miracles couldnt save a guy like you from the hellfire
Okay, Hunchback is amazing. Definitely not a kids movie, though. I remember seeing it in theatre when I was 4 or 5. ;-; Trauma.
It's a secret (of the bell).
NUMBER ONE TIME!!!
http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_ln...vovho1_500.gif
It's been a long road, and there have been some great suggestions. *cough* Fox and The Hound 2 *cough* as our top spot but we're finally at the end of the line here. It's time for our number one Disney movie!
This is it guys
Are you guys ready
For the #1 spot
I bet your not ready
Seriously hold onto your butts!
It's the Little mermaid
Sike, it's not.
It's
IT'S
Going to be revealed tomorrow.

I haven't seen it so I can't knock this ranking but it deeeeefinitely surprised me enough to make me curious that it might actually be a joke.
Getting from there to here.Quote:
It's been a long road
It's been a long time,
but my time is finally near.
And I can feel the change in the wind right now,
nothings in my way
and they're not gonna hold me down no more,
no they're not gonna hold me down
Cause I've got faith of the heart
I'm going where my heart will take me
I've got faith to believe,
I can do anything
I've got strength of the soul
no one's gonna bend nor break me
I can reach any star
I've got faith
I've got faith
Faith of the heart
It's been a long road
Silly Matt, CLANNAD is not a Disney production. Although if it were it would sure as hell make #1, so this is strangely appropriate.
One way or the other they've shafted Wall-E or Hunchback of Notre Dame (or both)
I guess I can just sharpen my pitchforks now.

1.
The Great Mouse Detective (1986)
Matt ranked it at 5. Shauna ranked it at 6.
OVERALL SCORE: 5.5
Matt: So here's the thing about Basil the Great Mouse Detective. More than Emperor's New Groove I feel that this movie is one of the true overlooked Disney Classics. Rarely is a Disney both filled with such nonsense as well as being so dark. It blends the two together so well. Like Tarzan, this one is a sleeper hit we did not intend to see so high, but were pleased when it was. As it's the #1, I can't just say “Hey this movie is something you should watch because it's good” You'll want more than that won't you? You monsters.
https://38.media.tumblr.com/affe7479...0mlso7_500.gif
This movie is so ridiculously camp, but so sinister at the same time. The start of the movie starts off looking at a toy maker and his daughter before a peg legged bat breaks through the window, beats him up and kidnaps him while his daughter watches. The adorable little Scottish Mouse seeks the help of Basil the Great Mouse Detective after having nowhere else to turn. Basil takes the case after finding out that it is directly related to Professor Ratigan, his nemesis.
https://33.media.tumblr.com/9f7a181a...1ivno7_500.gif
Professor Ratigan is the most wonderful villain in all of Disney. You may not know what a pantomime is outside of the UK, but it's a silly stage show. Villain is a pantomime villain through and through. Take his song The World's Greatest Criminal Mind”. He sings about how he's the smartest criminal in the world, and everyone sings to his success. That is until someone correctly calls him a rat and he has them straight up murdered . It's fresh to see a villain that is silly and also so menacing. He also has big goals where he straight up wants to kill the queen to rule the British Empire. It's a amazing.
http://media0.giphy.com/media/4QkmcoddJZUU8/200_s.gif
The good guys are also Superb in this. Basil, much like Sherlock Holmes, is an eccentric genius. In the later part or movie, the whole crew is kidnapped facing certain death until within his madness Basil uses complex mathematical equations to stop 4 individual methods of certain doom from killing himself and Dawson at once. This is the setting for the entire movie. Basil gets out of stupid silly situations using hilariously ingenious methods. I mean, look how he puts together a clue for how to get to his next location which is followed up by the smuttiest song in Disney's History. Even the final battle between Ratigan and Basil atop big ben is concluded in such a fantastic way. Truly concluding that brain is better than Brawn.

Basil the Great Mouse Detective may be an out of nowhere hit for our #1, but it is definitely deserving of the top spot. I suggest that everyone seek it out if they haven't already done so.

Shauna:Hipster enough for you all, Eyes on Final Fantasy? Are you not entertained?! How much do you hate everything we stand for?! Bring it on, nerds!
What can be said about The Great Mouse Detective? It’s a fun little mystery movie, set in the mouse world. For anyone who doesn’t know, it’s essentially Sherlock Holmes, if he were a rodent. Wait… I think I see a trend in the movies I enjoy. Mice + Adventure = Shauna’s faves.
This is just a great film. As I said before, it’s a fun adventure through mousey London, but it can also be quite dark at times. Some of the things that happen in it are silly and ridiculous, but the seriousness of the plot balances that out and keeps everything moving forward. Really, you’re going to replace the Mouse Queen of Britain with a clockwork creation? Sure thing.
I really enjoy the cast of this movie. I mean, yes, they’re pretty much Sherlock Holmes and Co, but that’s perfectly fine. Basil is a bit of a prat, disregarding his team because he is on a superior level to everyone. But you can’t deny that he is brilliant, and the movie makes a point of showing this off when it can, with ridiculous deductions from almost nothing. Some of the best parts are when Basil is onto something and he just says and does a bunch of smart sounding and scientific things and boom, he has all the answers. It’s great. Dawson is very much just the Watson character, Basil’s faithful sidekick, helping out to solve the mystery the best he can, slapping some sense into Basil when necessary. Olivia is an adorable little Scottish mouse who is adorable and that’s pretty much it.
As for the villain, Ratigan is impressive. Voiced by the eternally wonderful Vincent Price, he gets the character just right. He is brilliant, just like Basil. He is seriously campy, singing songs about how wonderful he is; wearing top hats and a cravat. At the same time as all this, he is openly evil – kidnapping children and having his henchmen fed alive to his cat. But, when he cracks when his plans are all falling apart, he becomes truly menacing. A terrifying animalistic… well, rat. And it is a chilling transformation.
The location pieces are really great too. From the furious battle in the Tower of London between Basil and Ratigan, to the reveal of the replacement Mouse Queen in Buckingham Palace. I also really like all the scenes in the tavern and Ratigan’s base, that’s where the whole two musical numbers take place, which are wonderful, and also where the funny moments of the movie really shine. Oh that Dawson, drinking the spiked alcohols. What a character!
Honestly, this movie is just a lot of fun, while still keeping an edge of the serious matter at hand. Unlike the Emperor’s New Groove, which is fun, but it focuses on the silly. I guess I just like a little bit of a serious and dark tone in my movies. Oh, also, mice having crazy romps rescuing people.
Holy crap, I remember this film!
:tumble:.Okay this is a film I'm confident I've seen but don't remember.
I liked that movie
I'll have to watch this movie again soon. It's been way too long, and I do really love this movie.
Definitely should do that!
Interesting list. Quite a few I've yet to see, especially from that era of Mulan, Emperor's Groove & Tarzan.
"Interesting"
That's an interesting way to put it.
The trailer for this film used to be on my VHS copy of The Lion King, it never seemed particularly appealing to me but that may have a lot to do with it standing in the way of my watching the Lion King for the 500th time. Either way, I didn't see Toy Story 3 make an appearance so you've officially ruined Christmas, I hope you're both happy.
So you've had the top 10, now time for the bottom 10,
You are not ready for this List.
#91Chicken Little (Matt: 95, Shauna: 82, Score: 88.5)
#92Tarzan & Jane (Matt: 81, Shauna: 98, Score: 89.5)
#93Brother Bear 2 (Matt: 86, Shauna: 95, Score: 90.5)
#94The Jungle Book 2 (Matt: 90, Shauna: 93, Score: 91)
#95101 Dalmatians 2: Patch's London Adventure (Matt: 94, Shauna: 94, Score: 94)
#96The Little Mermaid II: Return to the Sea (Matt: 97, Shauna: 93, Score: 95)
#97The Hunchback of Notre Dame II: The Secret of the Bell (Matt: 96, Shauna: 96, Score: 96)

#99Cinderella II: Dreams Come True (Matt: 99, Shauna: 99, Score: 99)

Just Kidding. #100Atlantis: Milo's Return (Matt: 100, Shauna: 100, Score: 100)
I can't tell if these are movies you hate or just what the beginning of a Top 100 list would look like. Either way, I love The Little Mermaid II. I thought Melody and Morgana's characters were done well.
We watched all the Disney/Pixar animated movies. There were 100 of them at the time. Essentially 90-100 are the worst ones.
The little mermaid 2 would have been better if they tried to make a movie that wasn't just the Little Mermaid in reverse. it plays out identically to the first one, but with her going to the sea as apposed to leaving it.
Don't care. I still liked it. Melody being similar to her mother made sense to me, and I liked her relationship with Ariel. Morgana constantly being in her sister's shadow and surpassing her by holding the trident longer than she did was something I always enjoyed as well. It's definitely straight to video worthy, but not a bad movie to watch to kill the time.
http://i1.kym-cdn.com/entries/icons/...9969639840.gif
It just felt incredibly cheap and lazy. They pretty much just made the same movie all over again, except it was significantly worse than the original.
Brother Bear 2 was one that did that too, but I don't think it hit the same heights of "Can you be any lazier with this?". They at least made some kind of minimal effort to make the movie even a little bit different.
We were going to make a big thing about all of these, writing our paragraphs about why we hate them, but... I just don't care. I don't like them and I don't want to spend any longer looking at them. xD
Great Mouse Detective takes #1
Little Mermaid II takes #96
You two are the worst kind of people, truly.

Don't fret Matt & Shauna. I appreciate your bottom 10 list. Now I know I haven't missed anything by not seeing those movies.
Wait this is a great list, Tarzan and The Great Mouse Detective are some of the greatest flicks of all time period, not even just with Disney or animation or whatever.
And anyone hating on Phil Collins can please exit stage left
Pike for Best Ever.
Holy.. I actually remember watching the #1 a bunch of times. Why did that movie slip my mind? Maybe because it was one of the first I watched.
Cannot tell if this thread is satire... =\
:p
Nope. We genuinely watched 100 Disney movies, ranked them and made reviews for each.
And this is our legitimate opinions. On average. I'll post up our individual lists today.
Don't listen to that second account! The list is only slightly terribly horribly wrong.
And that's okay.
Here they are, the final tallies.
Hope you enjoyed Matt and myself being 100% correct about everything! Glad we could entertain you for a short period of time.
Please, feel free to hate us on any particular ranking, we can take it.

Ah, Ariel's Beginning. What a waste of opportunity to bring back Tim Curry as the voice of that guy who hated music.
The way Ariel and Flounder became friends were better in the TV show too.
MFW seeing Toy Story 3 is the lowest ranked of the trilogy.
http://media.tumblr.com/88f6f1c8f6ab...dkQ1qz4rgp.gif
Cute list though, guys, truly.
The Fox and The Hound is ranked way too low on these lists
:|
As punishment I sentence both Shauna and Tumblr Matt to 500 hours of Dark Castle.
I decided to see if I could come up with a top ten as well. Considering I haven't seen or don't remember half of the films (admittedly mostly sequels and prequels, so eh) it was probably a lot easier than you guys had it. Mine went like this...
1. The Emperor's New Groove
2. Tangled
3. Frozen
4. Aladdin
5. Finding Nemo
6. The Lion King
7. Wreck-It Ralph
8. Atlantis: The Lost Empire
9. Wall-E
10. Up
Really, though, 2-6 could be shuffled around a lot depending on my mood, and the same for 8-10.
Interestingly, if I combine Disney & Dreamworks, a number of them would get shunted down.
1. The Emperor's New Groove
2. Megamind
3. Tangled
4. Frozen
5. Aladdin
6. Madagascar
7. Finding Nemo
8. The Lion King
9. Wreck-It Ralph
10. Monsters vs. Aliens / How to Train Your Dragon depending on my mood.
I dare say I am more likely to enjoy a Dreamworks film than a Disney film, but with so many Disney films they still tend to flood the list.
Yeah, my own personal list is very much how I felt on the day, and would definitely be subject to change if I were to redo it at any point.
Also, to those who say "X? X?! It is too far down!" consider that there are 53 Disney Animated Classics, plus 14 Pixar movies... 67 films. Anything that's under #35 can be considered pretty great! If you still have issues then, well, sux 2 b u.
Nice list.
I think if I re-wrote my top 10, I'd find that Bolt would be in there now.
My Top 10 as per my thread from Feb!
10. Hunchback of Notre Dame
9. Treasure Planet
8. Beauty and the Beast
7. Pocahontas
6. Brother Bear
5. Frozen
4. Mulan
3. Tarzan
2. Tangled
1. The Lion King
I think I'd probably take Frozen out of the Top 10 now, tbh, and replace it with Bolt because white German Shepard and dogs and stuff.
here's paul's list
1= The Nightmare Before Christmas & Mary Poppins
3= EVERYTHING ELSE :colbert:
I don't care if they're not part of the RULES you guys set out they are the best and you can go eat a butt if you don't like it :doublecolbert:
My list:
1. The Fox and the Hound
2. Beauty and the Beast
3. Others
1.) The Little Mermaid
2.) The Little Mermaid
3.) The Little Mermaid
4.) The Little Mermaid
5.) The Little Mermaid
6.) The Little Mermaid
7.) The Little Mermaid
8.) The Little Mermaid
9.) The Little Mermaid
10.) The Little Mermaid
Honorable Mentions
The Little Mermaid
It was really hard choosing between The Little Mermaid and The Little Mermaid for the number one spot.
Top 10, off the top of my head:
1. Alice in Wonderland
2. Up
3. Lilo & Stitch
4. Toy Story 3
5. Wreck-It Ralph
6. Mickey's Christmas Carol
7. Robin Hood
8. Sleepy Hollow
9. Aladdin
X. Mickey & the Beanstalk
