Persona 3 technically already has Jesus.

I have a confession to make. I never played any of the games and swung by the thread for a bad joke.
I figured as much.
You should definitely try it, though.
Burn my bread!
you guys are weird
Yeah I was pretty much thinking I don't want that guy in my room
Also, I went back and read Fynn's entries on the Pearsauna games on his top games list and everyone was like they like both but P3 is better and now I'm like what if I like P4 better and then everyone will judge me and say I'm wrong :ohdear:
Or I could hate it, who knows
Get, they're both excellent and there's a lot of people who prefer P4!
P4's story is just so... idk. The game never really tries to go more than skin deep in most things,
SEE IT'S ALREADY STARTING
Don't listen to them. That's the Apathy Syndrome talking.
It's good as a game, though. Maybe even better. The game just drops the ball on any character development that could have been interesting.
I still love P4, don't get me wrong. I just love P3 more. Especially as the female MC. And without Bebe.
You probably will prefer Persona 4, Pumpkin. It's easier, and it's sillier.
And then Ill be persecuted for it :colbert:
P4 isn't bad, it's just that P3 dealt with heavier themes whereas P4 pulled back and focused more on the social link side of things. The game is really more about party becoming friends and dealing with realistic high school problems. P3 handled it's themes better but frankly the P4 fanbase seems larger because most Persona fans I've met missed out on P3 and really started with P4 due to Atlus' usual problems of making 100,000 copies.
I honestly feel you'll like P4 way better than P3 because it's more focused on the characters and doesn't take itself as seriously as P3 did. Besides, you must experience the awesomness that is Nanako.
Attachment 64597
I agree with everyone that says that you'll probably like P4 better. I like P3 much better personally for different reasons, but P4 plays better, has some great characters, makes the dungeon crawling have a little more variety visually at least, is easy, and has a lighter tone generally. It's an excellent game.
I like all the "P3 is better but you'll like P4 better" posts
Are we implying I have bad taste?
Oh and anyway, I'm further along in Hyperdevotion Noire than I expected so it will be maybe a week or two before I play, not 3 weeks to a month. Unless something comes up of course
It has more to do with this forum just having an abnormally large group of P3 fans. Most of the people I know irl prefer P4. P4 does a lot of interesting things, just not the type of things I care about which P3 did, but it comes down to personal needs and wants rather than saying one is objectively better than the other.
I just think you'll enjoy P4 more because while it has dark things in it, it's much less dark than P3 for the most part. I just remember you saying you don't like some of the darker games as much when discussing some of your issues with delving into Digital Devil Saga (or maybe one of the other Shin Megami Tensei games in Fynn's list of games thread).
I like P4 A LOT, so me saying you'd like it better while saying I prefer P3 is saying nothing about you having bad taste. I just think you have different tastes than me in things. P3 is something with themes and an overall story I enjoy more, but it's not necessarily the better game. They're both about even for me for different reasons.
The only reason I prefer P3 to P4 is because I weigh story heavier than I do gameplay. P4's Gameplay blows P3's out of the water. But, in my opinion, P3's characters, story, and music are the superior. (Though the music is hard to compare. P4's is much pop-ier, while P3's is darker and more alternative style.)
I don't mind dark stories and rather like them in some cases, but I dislike dark environments
What does taste have to do with anything?
Persona 3 is the better story. It's better told, has more solid theme work, uses characterization better, has better dramatic moments, etcetera.
Persona 4 is the better game. It gives you more control over your characters, has better combat flow, MUCH better dungeons, and streamlines a lot of the quirks of its predecessor.
And neither of these points have anything to do with what you like.
I mean, let's look at movies. I like Street Fighter The Movie (because Raul Julia is the best M. Bison ever). I don't like Citizen Kane (at all). Would I EVER pretend that Street Fighter is a better film than Citizen Kane? Heck no.
You can like a film, or a game, regardless of it's overall quality. You can also like it for different reasons. I adore Persona 3 because of it's overall brilliant writing and some of its characters. But I admit that it has its share of problems.
Persona 4 utterly destroys it in terms of gameplay. Even in terms of writing, it can hold its own. The relationship between Yu, Nanako, and Dojima in Persona 4 is an utterly brilliant family drama that I would put just as high, if not higher, than any relationship in Persona 3. The Social Links are far better written than the ones in the original Persona 3.
Persona 4 is actually probably the better overall game, if I'm analyzing things as objectively as possible. But Persona 3 is definitely the better piece of literature, because it has a main story that is basically FLAWLESS, and for that reason, I prefer Persona 3.
Also, you are absolutely going to love Nanako.
I was joking, I just thought it was funny that everyone was saying P3 was better but I'd like P4 better
Because you like adorable bubbly anime characters :exdee:
I do like cute characters!
Attachment 64602
Attachment 64603
Behold: Chibi Persona characters! Because they weren't cute enough already!
Attachment 64608
That said, I don't think Pumpkin would like Persona Q. To dungeon grind heavy. But I think she'd like the chibis.
I'm actually going to start P4 now because I'm playing 2 strategy games and I need a break from one of them. So I'll play until I get my SRPG drive back up and then put this one on hold
Oh the girl who voices Chie is the same voice of the main character from the game I'm taking a break from :omgomg:
I love coincidences like that
Chie actually has a different voice in Golden than in the original. This was a big controversy.
Yes it was terrible
Erin Fitzgerald makes a fantastic Chie.
New Chie is WRONG. Just WRONG. Old Chie > New Chie any day.
You are wrong :colbert:
Old Chie is flat in comparison. And Chie isn't even that great a character, while we're at it.
ur dum
Your face is dumb
I got used to new Chie within fifteen minutes of Persona 4 Arena. The actress does a perfectly acceptable job, and I have no idea what any of the fuss is about.
It's got nothing to do with how good a job she does. Jack bauer did an acceptable job with big boss as well, but I still don't like the actor change, just like i don't really like any actor changes. It's easier to ignore it if there was absolutely no other way, such as if one of them died or something. Dumbledore, for example.
Gambon!Dumbledore was way more awesome than Harris!Dumbledore, IMO. There's nothing wrong with a cast change from time to time.
I was most interested in black haired girl but I dunno. So far there's been aspects I like and some I don't and her character could go either way for me
You mean Yukiko?
Like I mentioned before, the characters are much more anime-y than P3, but that's not a bad thing! I genuinely like all of the party members (sans, as it turned out during my second run, Yosuke), especially the navigator (the voice is much better this time!) and another guy I'll keep quiet about for now ;)
The characters in Persona 4 are great, and the stories they get are really fun.
But I miss S.E.E.S.
sharky and I were laughing about the "meteorologists predict a lot of fog over the next year" thing because he's a trained meteorologist and he says fog is one of the hardest things to forecast for. Plus no one forecasts that far in to the future. Then we were just making jokes about how apparently they should have used the murder trends to help them predict it more accurately
Also it is waaaay too yellow it gives me a headache
Pumpkin's nitpicking on P4 so far!
Who could have known! XD
I like the murder mystery aspect of it so far, I find that pretty interesting, and I like umm clumsy guy more than I thought I would. I feel bad because he keeps getting hurt and game is like "maybe you should leave him alone" and then I feel like game is making me a jerk.
But I haven't really started the social aspect part which was my favourite part of P3. tbh the story was fine in P3 but it was nowhere near my favourite video game story and I wasn't all that invested (sorry :shobon:) so I still can't tell if I'll like this game more or less
We'll see.
And yeah, I liked Yosuke a lot more the first time around. It's interesting - I didn't really care about Junpei at first, and later he became one of my favorite characters of all time. Yosuke went the opposite route for me, despite being basically the same archetype.
I just kinda think he deserves all that trout now, you know? :p
in somewhat related news, I've just started playing the answer again, and this time I'll not forget to finish it!
You should tell us how it goes Mirage!
So here are some general thoughts:
-Camera is terrible. I don't like staring at walls believe it or not!
-Yosuke has kind of gone down for me again
-Yokiko has gone up. She's quite adorable too
-Yes I had to Google these names
-I'm finding it rather overwhelming compared to the more point and click style of P3, having to walk around everywhere to see if there's someone new or something. I feel like I'm missing out on a ton of stuff
-Kou is quite adorable
-The girl from the drama club and the girl from the music club look like that style of the SMT and earlier Persona games that creep me the heck out. I don't know why, but they do
-I had a huge dilemma with music club girl about whether I should pick "effort is what matters" or "you are talented". WHICH ONE IS THE NICER THING TO SAY I DON'T KNOW IT WAS VERY CONFLICTING
-It really is overwhelmingly yellow
-I'm wondering what the number 5 over the fog day meant? 5 levels? 5 days? 5 hours? 5 gold rings?
I keep forgetting that P3P didn't have you physically running around the locations outside of the dungeon when you are doing the social link stuff.
Thank god you didn't pick the drama club social link because her story is gut wrenching and sad. Something about the Sun Arcana always being depressing... even Tatsuya from P2 is generally a gloomy and depressing fellow.
Yeah, the yellow color didn't do this game any favors for me but it could have been worse. Yosuke kind of goes back and forth in the plot. His social link was largely aimless, same with Chie but he's an amusing guy even if he wasn't my favorite member of the team.
Well now I'm curious about her social link
yeah if I had a nickel for everytime that happened
(SPOILER)I would have no nickels
Yosuke is kind of a douche, which I didn't really notice the first time. The first time I played I thought he was a better, nicer Junpei. Oh, how the turntables...
I just learned you can get the cooking the lunches thing wrong and I haven't got any wrong so yay I can cook! Not that I've done very many. But I thought it would just lead to a different dish if you did it differently
Also I hate that some scenes don't have subtitles. Can I change this? Because I often play while sharky is watching something or sleeping and I have to put it right up to my face to hear it and it is very annoying. One of my game pet peeves
Yukiko is my girlfriend now :jess:!!!!!!!!
I wanted to record me saying "You've climbed the stairway to maturity!" with my flawless Teddie voice, but sadly, I was away from home most of the day and have no means to do it now :(
Sorry haven't been updating this too much. I'm in September and doing (SPOILER)Naoto's dungeon
I liked the music from the 8-bit boss, that was a cute touch. Most of my relationships are progressing alright. I do very much like how much easier the game is in this one. I hardly ever need to use Persona's so I just have a party of the ones I really like! So far that is Alraune, Kikuri-Hime, Sarasvati, and Jack Frost. There's probably some more I'll add but I am keeping some room so I can get some more from the dungeons and fuse them. The four I keep around keep pretty much all of my needs covered anyway!
I love the outfit changies
Yeah, the easy mode is really easy :p
So who're you maining?
Hmm? Like who am I using? I rotate them all based on level
Oh, okay :)
How are you liking Rise as your navigator? While I was annoyed by Fuuka's Dull Surprise tone, I personally found Rise's commentary really enjoyable. I think Laura Bailey has an amazing voice.
I don't mind her like I did Fuuka, although I haven't exactly been enjoying it either. Just kinda... there. But I do really enjoy her voice and she's also been in a few other games I've been playing recently!
*Takes an interest and reads entire thread in one go* ... I must hand it to you guys for making me wish I had a physical copy of either P3 or P4 to get back into it. A pity when I had a passable emulator the computer with the save files on it died before I could finish P3, hard to get back into things after losing 60~65 hours of progress. Regrets aside, I'd like to offer a few of my thoughts, hopefully without derailing the thread overmuch...
Persona 3 struck more of a cord with me via the darker story, and the delightful Eldritch Location that is the Dark Hour. Most of the Social Links were quite satisfying... Until I remember being forced into dating status at the higher ranks due to playing as a guy. Truly sad that Tartarus grew so repetitive, as I could only go through so much Social Linking before needing to balance it with a round of dungeon crawling. The 'professional' sort of vibe I got from the party in as a whole was refreshing.
Persona 4, Dear Azathoth so much yellow.... and a bit too optimistic for my liking most of the time. This may simply be because I couldn't fully play through the game like P3 and learned most of it from less personal sources, but the character development among the party seemed inferior to P3. Despite this the Shadows of the playable cast (except Shadow Kanji with his ridiculous behavior) were a thing of beauty to me, the manifested Shadow Archetypes of the characters is something I hope to see more of as the series continues.
I apologize if this is the wrong place or time for this question, but has anyone here played Persona Q?
It's a general Persona discussion thread, so bring up anything Persona you'd like, or even give us updates of your progress while you play if you want :D
I haven't played it because it seems a bit too dungeon crawlery for my taste but I dunno. I might try it out one day
I'm playing it, and I'm loving it. Just changed my set from a Persona Q one :p
After dredging up my save files for PQ it seems I never finished a Risky Mode run. However I did finish the P3 side on Hard Mode in about 80 hours with an average lvl range of 70~73. Along with killing a few of the optional bosses such as (SPOILER) The Reaper and Elizazeus Hm, time to finish P4!Risky... without the NG+ benefits.
Just found out they changed Rise's voice in Persona 4: Dancing All Night :onoes:
I mean, it's not bad, because it's Ashly Burch now, and I like her a lot too (Hey Ash Watcha Playin' is like my favorite thing on Youtube).
But it's not Laura Bailey :G
I am now in November right when (SPOILER)Nanako was kidnapped. A few social links maxed out.
I have ended up liking Nanako much more than I did at first. I can see why she's so popular now!
Something I don't like is we have had two adult women making uncomfortable advances towards teenagers, one of them a teacher at the school, and it's treated as funny. It's not funny, it's creepy and it's disturbing and I wonder if it would have been treated as comedy if it had been reversed genders. It may have, I dunno, but either way it's not in the least bit funny to me. Might be working at a sexual trauma center where I've seen serious cases like this. Don't mean to be a buzzkill but yeah, it's very uncomfortable for me.
Other than that I am having fun, although I am also running out of steam. But unlike P3 which I liked playing but doubt I'll ever play again, I'm pretty sure I'll end up playing this one again.
Huh. I never really thought about Kashiwagi that way. Now I feel bad for finding her funny before, because you're right :(
Anyway, you wouldn't BELIEVE the amount of fighting on the internet there is about where Kanji is gay or whether Naoto is trans. It doesn't help matters that there is no official confirmation on either.
I think Kanji is bisexual from one I've seen. Sexuality is a wide spectrum and someone can very easily fall in between rather than being completely one way or completely the other. I've wondered that about Naoto but I figured it was not the case because it came across to me like it was less about being the wrong gender as in how she feels mentally and inside, and more about being the wrong gender because of professional reasons. But who knows!
Well, IMO Kanji isn't gay. He might be bi, like you said, or anywhere else on the spectrum, but I think his shadow and insecurities don't actually stem from him questioning his sexuality, but rather traditional models of masculinity (which is something I totally relate to, which is part of the reason why Kanji is my favorite). I think his sexuality is moot and that he's just a kid confused about gender roles.
And yeah, I'm pretty sure Naoto is cis (after beating her shadow she does seem to embrace the fact that deep down she's a woman) - it's all about society's expectations to women and men on a professional field.
in a way, naoto and kanji are two sides of the same coin.
Yes. Naoto feels like her life as a professional detective would have been easier if she wasn't a woman (and that might be been an accurate assessment, although it might also have a bit to do with the fact that she is like 16). Kanji feels that his interest for the family business clashes with him being a guy.
I always felt that they were introduced around the same time for a reason. They show an interest for each others (well, kanji does anyway) before even joining the investigation team.
I think it's a theme for all of the characters, really - dealing with societal expectations. It's just that Kanji and Naoto deal with those regarding gender and sexuality.
The only Persona games I've played is Persona 1+2. Both were pretty interesting but I haven't dedicated too much time to finishing them. Persona 1 was excruciating and Persona 2 had the highest damn random encounter rate I've seen since Fallout 2, FFII, and FFV. But yeah I like them. One thing that was interesting about Persona 2 was summoning new Personas. Though I saw it as a bit complex at time. But luckily they improved the negotiation system from Persona 1 and made it far better.
3 and 4 are completely different games. You should try them!
(SPOILER)Nanako's dungeon music is the best music in the entire game.
I am loving all of the costumes :omgomg:
I honestly kinda hated them :p
The only ones I used were the Gekkoukan uniforms.
Chie pumpkin is the best thing I don't even know what to say to you
Hm, seems I forgot about this thread after getting lost in Wonderland for the while... This is merely the two scents of an outside observer, but I agree with Pumpkin that Kashiwagi is rather creepy. P4 has a disturbing sense of humor sometimes.
Getting back into PQ was easier than I thought, I even remembered which 1st labyrinth sub-personas learned the elemental resistance skills. Despite everything that Risky Mode can throw at me I'm happy to say the Queen of Hearts is dead; along with several dozen of her adorable evil minions... She was a screamer in the end. Honestly the entire first Labyrinth feels like a case of being so weird it's good. Though I wish that PQ didn't have to go down the path of simplifying some character's personalities to the point of acting like they'd lost about one-third of their IQ.
PQ Akihiko, tbh
http://d2ws0xxnnorfdo.cloudfront.net/meme/52426
You know things are getting dramatic when the game warns you of the upcoming drama
Yup, Fynn has summarized everything horrible about PQ Akihiko. Honest confession... I spent most of my P3 side run of PQ debating rather or not to Mercy Kill Akihiko before his protein-related brain tumor claimed the remaining scraps of his mind. Seriously I can only recall Akihiko mentioning protein twice during the events of Persona 3.
Now I'm having the same problem with Chie with her thought patterns being reduced to meat obsession, even if she retains the basic essentials of kicking things to death. Perhaps I'd miss Chie less... Sadly all attempts to abandon Teddie inside the Labyrinths have failed.
Brace yourself Pumpkin, too many feels with a side order of doom are no doubt inbound.
It's a shame they've apparently flanderized the characters in PQ. But I do think it would be interesting to see the two casts together.
So question about the P4 murders
(SPOILER)
When they're thrown in the TV and the fog sets in, their shadows kill them. But the first two victims showed up dead outside of the TV. So how do they get outside of the TV after they died in the TV? I feel like I'm missing something or misunderstanding something important here
Some of them made it through relatively intact, worst of the flanderization bat hit Akihiko, Chie, and Teddie... Everyone else is at least recognizable. I am however happy to say that Yukiko did get a fair share of scary moments.
Regarding the murders... (SPOILER) I do not recall the series giving a clear answer about the body disposal, or finding one on the wiki. At best I can offer the following theory. The TV world is a landscape greatly based on conscious thought, so it is unlikely that a thoughtless carcass can remain there for long. Dead bodies and other refuse are likely automatically ejected from the TV world after a certain time if they are left unclaimed by a sentient entity. I theorize being strung up on TV antennas to be a result of the antenna's connection to the world's medium, the television set.
I just found the opening video for Dancing All Night!
Can I just say that 1) I LOVE the music and 2) I think those character redesigns are really nice! Especially Kanji and Naoto.
I won't like, I kinda want the game.
EDIT: Holy crap! Just found out they got Akira Yamaoka do some of the remixes! :hyper:
So i wasn't planning to do the True Ending part, and instead was going to save it for my New Game+
BUT THEN THEY GAVE ME SOME NEW OUTFITS THAT I WANT TO USE
I have Christmas outfits, Chie has an adorable Kung Fu outfits, Yukiko's winter outfit is so pretty :ohdear: (so is Nanako's). Yukiko also looked much pretty in her Kimono
You can still not get the true ending at this point, though.
I know that, Im saying I want to do it now so I can use my new outfits. I might just revisit old dungeons if they let me, theyve been kinda streamlining me so far
Yeah, the added winter portion is pretty rigid.
I definitely want Dancing All Night. I'm a sucker for rhythm games, and I think the music in Persona has always been pretty great. It does seem kind of weird though.
So I can technically say I spent most of last night murdering inter-dimensional babies with chemical and nuclear weapons.... but lets address the new spinoff first.
Persona 4 Dancing All Night makes me question what the people at Atlus are smoking. The genre shift from RPG to a rhythm game is incomprehensible! I'll just ignore this spinoff and maybe read up on the story behind at a later date. On the other hand the character redesigns are a pleasant surprise, but even though I enjoyed the music I just can't indulge that play style. I'm not getting my hopes up for the culprit being any more dignified than Teddie.
Some context to the first statement of my post, you can thank or blame Persona Q for this weirdness. Midway through the second labyrinth I decided to cut the knot by using one of the movement puzzle to backstab a F.O.E. instead of just running from them.... The Great F.O.E. Hunt has begun! I've taken a real liking to the Impure Reach + Toxic Slice combo for wearing down F.O.E.s, and boost is probably the best 'reason' for casting Megido. Ah, now if only the Labyrinths would last a bit longer without the questionable longevity of high random encounter rates....
Incomprehensible :p, because SE hasn't been doing the same thing just recently :p
Yeah, this. Theatrhythm was a huge success and rhythm games are huge in Japan, so it's no wonder Atlus decided to follow.
Plus, rhythm games are awesome :p
Lazerface - you don't need to have beaten any of the previous games to enjoy P3. I've never beaten P1 because that game was just stupid.
How was it stupid?
The plot is like a B horror movie. That's one thing.
Two, the mechanics are insanely convoluted, to the point that even in the remake, with its reworked translation, I really have no clue how the element system works.
It's a weird hybrid of first- and third-person and the 3D dungeons look ugly as sin.
The random encounters are not only insanely frequent, but hard as smurf, so good luck going anywhere. Because they're everywhere. Even in the mall in between healing spots, shops, and the Velvet room.
Thankfully, the two Persona 2 games fix most of those issues, and while they're less accessible than 3 or 4, they're still really good games, which I honestly can't say about Persona 1. I'll take Dancing All Night over it any day of the week.
just figured out thiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiissssssssssssssssss
http://i.imgur.com/zZuwzQq.png
aaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh
Figured what out? Who is that other girl?
That's Rio from P3!
It was in P3P and I skimmed right past it and didn't know anything but then it hit me
It's just a neat little scene to find
oh, lol, i was wondering why she looked familiar. i thought that was a P4G screenshot.
:D
Oh my gosh Nanako explaining her Valentine's Day 'Chocolate' is the best thing
Also it took me until January to find the beach :shobon:
WHAT I FORGOT ALL ABOUT MY SCOOTER AFTER I DISCOVERED CLOTHES SELLING PLACE
But... but...
http://img1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb2...hingMaster.png
Oh dear that is a big fish
Oh I'm getting a memories montage now so sad ;___;
the game bees almost over ;~;
Unless you go for the True Ending :p
Even then I imagine it's almost done. I think I just might go for the true ending. After some cleaning
I maxed out all of the social links I cared about too so I am happy about that :D
Yay :bounce: Did you get the second upgrades for your party member personas?
All except Naoto
Coolio!
So if you want the true end, just be persistent.
The game's gonna be all like "Alright, you should go home now," and you should be like "But I still have this nagging feeling..."
Then the game's like "Nah, you're imagining things. Go home. You're drunk."
And you're like "No, there has to be something."
And the game says "What are you talking about? You're done with the game! Please go away!"
And you say "NO!"
And the game's like "OKAY FINE HAVE IT YOUR WAY BITCH"
I hope that's what is said verbatim.
I took some liberties.
Aww :(
I'm saying goodbye to everyone now. I think there's a final dungeon but I have cleaningcleaningcleaning to do so I'll be doing that later in the day or tomorrow. Either way there should be an entry for the game in my video game journal tonight or tomorrow :D
Also, say hello to Igor. You're gonna need that too.
I DID IT I BEAT THE GAME
True Ending too yay. Very sweet. Last boss fight wasn't very hard at all. It was actually pretty easy, which was nice!
Congratulations!
WOOOOOO!!!!! :hyper:
I like the true ending. I know a lot of people complain it's too padded, but I think it really fits the theme of searching for the truth and being persistent in it if you really want to see it.
So how did you like the game overall?
YOU'LL FIND OUT SOON I AM WRITING MY JOURNAL ENTRY NOW
tl;dr I liked it and plan to play it again some day
You'd be surprised :stare:
It SHOULD BE, doesn't mean it always is. One of my biggest gaming pet peeves
I beat it when I was ten and can't recall having any problems. It can't be that hard.
Congratulations on your True End completion Pumpkin. Perhaps if you do replay P4G you should do so on a higher difficulty?
No probably not
Might try to go for the Golden ending though ~~~~~oooooooooooo~~~~~
10 days left until the last shadow in P3P. My main character is like Level 72, and the others are between 42 (sorry, Doggy) and 67. Just currently grinding the highest floors of Tartarus currently available to me in order to get my other characters abilities.
I was under the impression that the game would end after the last shadow but that's not looking likely in terms of story which, by the way, has been pretty underwhelming so far.
http://i3.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/...98/789/732.gif
And honestly, it's the characters that make P3 so brilliant. They're honestly the most real people I've seen in a JRPG, Junpei and Yukari especially.
^ You're right about that storm. trout HAS JUST GONE DOWN.
Whelp, I took the time over the past 5 days to sit down and play The Answer all the way through, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be, but it was still pretty hard. And the ending felt very satisfying. That said, though, it did get me wanting to play P4A, P4A:U, PQ, and P4DAN. Maybe one day.
One thing that kept popping into my head while playing this, though: It occurred to me that the events of P3 happen 2 years before P4, so by the time the kids in P4 get around to awakening to their personae, the P3 crew has already been doing this for 2 years... So the skill disparity between the two would be rather massive when they actually meet up. Sort of sent tingles down my spine when I thought of that.
