I'm moved from last, to second last, to third a few times within the last two weeks. What dropped me in this whole was when I didn't check for like the first week and I found myself down to like 80 points. I'm still surprised I climbed out of that hole. Yeah, it sucks but I still like participating. :) Fantasy Football is my real area of expertise though.
If I could get some consistency from my lineup, I'd be moving upward at a faster pace. I never thought my most consistent player would be a New York Met, Looper with an ERA of 0.

Yes Mondays suck. At least Vlad socked one. He's shown that he is still one of the elite players in this league, though in retrospect I think I should have picked Beltran because I'm getting killed in the speed department. Carlos Beltran is the one player in this fantasy league that helps you with every stat category but one, assists. And that's only because he's an outfielder.
And, if there was a category, team victories, as we've learned in the "other" league. Go Royals, this years farm team for contenders!
Today was an exceptionally good one for my team actually, despite having only 4 active players. Casey keeps hitting, Pierre gets 4 RBI's and a scoreless inning of relief from a Houston reliever.

Beane will make a trade for someone. He's not stupid. He knows he can't compete with the Angels with the personnel he has right now. That team is on fire. Guerrero is finally able to put his incredible talents to use on a team built to win a championship.
Beware, Mark Prior is back and apparently in top form, 6 shutout innings, though his bullpen blew the game.

Not a bad first outing for Prior. Burnett did good too, though I no longer have the roster room to wait on him. Does someone want Giles or Magglio? I don't think I can afford to have 3 injured playes for 6 whole weeks.
Hmm, I'd consider perhaps taking Giles, but I don't want to mess with my roster too much more yet. It's carried me very far already.

My team has started it's decline that will probably last until the all star break. If I'm less than 30 points out of first by then I think I'll be in good shape. The rest of yous need to keep Fresno on his toes in the meantime.

I need to stop kidding around, all of the players I like keep getting taken while I keep playing silly games like 'flip a coin on a serious trade offer' or 'play Carlos Lee until his hit streak ends' even though he hasn't gotten a homer during the 22 game streak.

Everyone except in the Angels game.
Great pitching duel with Escobar getting 11K, 0R with only one walk in 8 innings, and Sheets pitching some one hit 0R ball all the way through the ninth.
Milwaukee's given up only one hit (to Vladdy), one walk (intentional to Vladdy) and no runs after 12 innings. Against a lineup like the Angels, that's very impressive.
Wells vs Pedro was a pretty good matchup. Pedro did good for me.. too bad it was against my team. :(
Morris versus Prior is slowly turning into a slugfest instead of a pitcher's duel.

Wagner got touched for four runs in an inning, Thome hit another homer. Schmidt pitched well, but I missed out on a stolen base by Carl Crawford.
Pretty up and down day, if you ask me.
Oh! I'd also like to thank the Caveman for his "does anyone know who plays for the Padres?" comment. Blaw got me a win, Loretta got me 3 hits, and Nevin got me a home run.
I'd also like to thank the Padres for striking out all those times against Schilling and allowing him 8 runs of support.
Hottest lineup in baseball right now: The Chavez-less Oakland Athletics. Be afraid.

My overtaking of Stider was inevitable. I just wish it was on September 30th rather than July 30th. I'm not sure I can hold this lead, but I, too, am doing the best I can. They way Chavez and Giles are playing it makes me wonder what it would have been like if I had them all season.
