Roogle has failed to upset the top contender Del Murder, while Loony BoB failed to defeat newcomer Mo-Nercył. Del Murder and Mo-Nercył will meat in the Elite Eight.
A lot of the classics went down this time. Not me though! I'm going to show this mewcomer mo nercy!
I'm cheering for Xander. :)
Oh no you aren't.
I'm cheering for Mo-Nercy because he's participating in Chatroom Awareness More Than a Week by coming to #trivia.

I gotta say, I'm absoloutely gutted on a couple of the results, including one where an everyday first name has made it into the elite eight. Glad people realised that my name doesn't compare to Mo Nercy, though. Shame to see Roogle, edczxcvbnm and Meat Puppet all fall behind on this round. I could see any of them winning a future event. To be fair, though, they all lost to worthy opponents and I still believe that the winner will definitely be from either Division A or C (unless there's a huge upset or a rigging of votes).
No offence to Xander about the first name thing, but I try to avoid voting for first names at all costs as they have so little originality about them. Spaceman Spiff, while a cool name, is just taken out of a famous comic strip so isn't too original either. I'm not sure if you could call Rye original, given there's a bread out there with the same name, so I'm not too disappointed that she lost to Spiff. Calliope, like Spiff, was just another name taken out of a book. Division D never caught my attention.
I figured Division B would also be a bit of pot luck, and my only surprise was the winning margin between pr00t and Shoyku, as I think Shoyku is a great name. I don't know if Proto is completely original but it's original enough for me to not recognise it, so I don't have any problems with his win. Levian and Abo going right down to the wire doesn't surprise me at all, both good names but neither of them stood out to me.
In fact, the only real match I figured would be no real contest in that round would have been the one against me. Go figure. The margin between Del and Roog also surprised me in the same way the pr00t-Shoyku one did.
Since a lot of my predictions didn't make it this round, I'll go with the following from this state of play... although to be honest, every single one of these matchups could prove to be very close indeed.
ShlupQuack defeats Dingo_Jellybean.
Agent Proto defeats Levian.
Mo-Nercył defeats Del Murder.
Spaceman Spiff defeats Xander.
ShlupQuack defeats Agent Proto.
Mo-Nercył defeats Spaceman Spiff.
ShlupQuack defeats Mo-Nercył.
With players such as ed, Meat, Shoy and Roogle out of the way so early, any of those matchups could go either way... so really, I'm just taking a stab in the dark. Although I think the semi-finals should be easy A over B and C over D victories.
Hmm... Could be.Quote:

This would be ShlupQuack's fourth overall visit to the Elite Eight, and Dingo_Jellybean's first. While both are original names, Dingo has to prove that the original name can reach the Final Four, as Shlup has been there four times as well in recorded history. Even though Shlup's running been good, she has had a history of losing when it means the most.
Division B
#1 Agent Proto
#7 Levian
Agent Proto and Levian meets in what seems to be an unexpected match-up in the Elite Eight. Top seeded Proto seems to have power to achieve victory, but also have a history of losing to lower seeded names. Levian may as well be that lower seeded name.
Division C
#1 Del Murder
#6 Mo-Nercył
Del Murder is an Elite Eight veteran, Mo-Nercył is a newbie there. However, Del Murder has experienced losses in later rounds, several times to the eventual winner of the tournament. Mo-Nercył has the originality to win it all, but does it have the mystique that Del Murder has?
Division D
#1 Xander
#2 Spaceman Spiff
The first and second seeded names in Xander and Spaceman Spiff make Division D to be one of the tougher match-ups in the Elite Eight. Xander's luck made her past through tough contender Calliope last round, and so did Spiff, however, only one can make it through. Can Shlup, Proto, Del, and Xander make history and make this Final Four be the first with all four top seeded names?
Vote now!
Oh well, it was close, especially since this is my first time as Rye. I'm rooting for Xander and Lev. :D
Oh no you aren't.

Vote for the name you think is best. I shouldn't lose votes just because I think chatrooms are lame. :(
The probably doesn't make a difference, though, since my popularity seems to usually die out around this time anyway. Mo-Nercył is a good name, though it would be better without the stupid cubed sign.
Didn't Del already win? *votes for himself*
I'm always a winner because I don't do drugs.

Anyhoo, I've collected some interesting data concerning the past tournament.
Here's the list of the screen names from the past tournaments in the archive who were in the Final Four, with the winners in Bold Italics and Runner-ups in Italics in alphabetical order
Aexoden, Del Murder, Del Snizz, and Spatvark
Citizen Erased, Crunchy Beverage, Loony BoB, and Naitsirk
Melted Snowman, Musashius, Not at All Reno, and Silverlocke
Del Murder, mystic ice cube, Roogle, and ShlupQuack
Del Murder, edczxcvbnm, o_O, and Spuuky
Did I vote yet?
Anyway, I'm a bit disappointed of the following.
Yams not beating Shlup, edc and Spuuky meeting early, edc losing to Dingo, RSL losing to Mo-Nercy, and the lack of voting.
Well, to be honest, I didn't start voting until I felt I had a legitimate chance to advance. I'm sure there were plenty of votes during the middle rounds, but as people start to weed out, votes are less of a factor because people don't see much of an interest in voting now that they're out of the race.
But Proto...I'm hurt.
Well, when I'm disappointed, it doesn't mean that I'm disappointed in you. Just the results. Nothing against you. I'm hoping you may upset Shlup this round, but we'll see.Quote:

Oh well, can't turn back time. I honestly thought Rye would advance at least to the final four since she has a bit of a cult going, but yeah...down with Shlup...she's a mean old admin.
Of course you should. However, you could bribe my vote (I still haven't :p) by, err...showing up once in awhile. Especially now, because it's dead. You're not on AIM, so I can't bug you about losing 2 straight to the lowly Mariners.Quote:

I could do that. But there's only five tournaments available from the past in the archive. :'(
Though, I can name some interesting rivalries.
ShlupQuack-Spatvark
ShlupQuack-Yamaneko
Agent Proto-Shoyku
Calliope-Spuuky
Calliope-Loony BoB
teh classic Del Murder-Del Snizz match-up (Del Snizz BLEW his competitor!! or something like that. xD)
There's also the nonexisting Citizen Bleys-Citizen Erased rivalry
There's probably more but I can't think of them.
ShlupQuack - Mik
I was winning the whole time, until the very end, then it was a tie, and someone came up with a tie breaker that did not favor me and I destroyed small animals.
Resultes time. :D
Division A
#1 ShlupQuack ||||\||||\|| 12
#6 Dingo_Jellybean ||||\|| 7
Dingo couldn't do it. While many others had the chance to get back from their previous loss last time, Dingo just couldn't do it. ShlupQuack returns to the Final Four for the third time.
Division B
#1 Agent Proto ||||\||||\|||| 14
#7 Levian ||||\| 6
After countless tournaments, this is it. This time Proto reaches to the Final Four, only to face Final Four veteran ShlupQuack.
Division C
#1 Del Murder ||||\| 6
#6 Mo-Nercył ||||\||||\||| 13
It was bound to happen, but Del Murder lost to the surprising Mo-Nercył, who is this tournament's version of the Dark Horse. Can Mo-Nercył continue surprising many in the Final Four?
Division D
#1 Xander ||||\||| 8
#2 Spaceman Spiff ||||\||||\| 11
Spaceman Spiff is just like Agent Proto. Both good names but never got to the Final Four. However, this will also be Spiff's first visit to the Final Four after many tournaments, and he faces one the surprise there.
:( Better luck next time. I hope Mo doesn't win, though. The newcomers shouldn't win, it insults the integrity of the tournament.
Aexoden, mystic ice cube won on their first visits. Think of them like the Wild Card. :D?
Oh, I'll surprise you alright. Surprise you...FOREVER! (dun-dun-dunnn)Quote:

Bleh...screw it..at least I stood a legitimate chance!
You know what's funny? BooB's original predictions was almost all wrong. :D
Everyone I vote for loses? I am cursed :D:
VICTORY.
I love you guys. Seriously.
I WANT SHLUP I WANT SHLUP I WANT SHLUP
This whole tournament has been a shambles. The best names have lost.
What is an EoFF SN Tourney without voting ed into the final round and then voting against him so he loses yet again?
A shambles, I tell you. I refuse to vote.
You were right about your first 2 sentences, wrong about your question, and I'll go neutral on your last 2 sentences.Quote:

First of all, I choose original names. Often time I will choose character-related names. However, if the names included numbers, their chances of being included is close to nil.
No, my predictions are always 100% correct. It's the votes that were all wrong.Quote:

No, you can't predict how everyone will vote. You can influence their voting behaviors, but you can't predict how most of them will vote.
No, seriously, the votes were all wrong. They voted for the wrong people. You can't blame me for that! The less original names have been doing a lot of winning lately. I agree with Raistlin for the most part - although I think Shlup and Mo-Nercy are valid finalists, so here's hoping.
If I ran this contest only the people I would want to win would actually win. :cool:
No need to make it public that you want me to win.Quote:

Two #1 screen names in their perspective division. This would be ShlupQuack's record-tying third visit to the Final Four, and Agent Proto's first. ShlupQuack smoothed past Dingo, as did Proto did with Levian. However, will Proto avenge Dingo's loss, or will Shlup continue her streak of making it into the Final in each Final Four visit?
Division 2
#6 Mo-Nercył
#2 Spaceman Spiff
Del Murder was close to making it to his fourth visit to the Final Four, but Mo-Nercył spoiled that and upsetted the heavily favored Del Murder. Spaceman Spiff is happy to be here in the Final Four, but he would be even more happy if he makes it into the Finals. Will it be the newcomer, or will Spiff finally make it for this long-awaited moment?
Ok, I'll make the votings for the Final Four to occur during the weekend and on Monday. I'll announce the winners on Tuesday and move on to the Finals there.
You may vote now. :)
I voted.
Spiff just committed virtual suicide by changing his name. Can't stay in character? Can't stay in the race.
What did I do now?
Nothing. That's why it's all your fault.
Vote Spaceman Spiff!
(so I don't have to go up against Mo-Nercy3)
That's making one heady assumption, there. Well, I guess it's not that heady.
It's not heady at all. I paid off Proto to rig this round so I win. ^_^
lol

I don't like this one bit. :mad2:
This is by far the second least average screen name contest ever.
We all still know Baloki should have won, but Leeza stole it away from him :( She also took Hooters ciddies, ALL OF THEM!!!
Although Shlup's nickname is the 2nd most original in this contest(with mines being first of course), don't vote for her.
Instead, hope she doesn't win so I can meet her again next year and demolish her. She's beaten me twice already...I need to enact some revenge.
Yeah, vote for me instead.
Its not that I have anything against Lezza btw and I don't think shes out to get me, really I don't, I don't OK, I DON'T!!! *runs away*Quote:

Division 1
#1 ShlupQuack ||||\|| 7
#1 Agent Proto ||||\||| 8
In what may be Proto's toughest challenge yet, he came out victorious. ShlupQuack's chance to be the first screen name to make it to the Finals three times has failed. Proto advances to the Finals.
Division 2
#6 Mo-Nercył ||||\||||\| 11
#2 Spaceman Spiff ||||\ 5
It may be no surprise, but Mo-Nercył literally showed No Mercy towards Spiff, as he crushed his opponent's chances to make it to the Finals after so many tries. Maybe next tournament, Spiff will be lucky.
See what happens when you cross the line, Shlup? :greenie:Quote:

It's funny that people think "Agent Proto" is a better name than mine. FUNNY.

No offence to pr00t, but ShlupQuack losing to Agent Proto is quite possibly the biggest joke of this tournament. If Mo-Nercy doesn't win, I'm going to... uh... I dunno. But I won't like it.
Its tactical voting, we all know Shulp would beat Mo Nercy in a fight so we had to even the odds ;)Quote:

The Finals!
This is it. We're up to the last match-up. The one that means the most...
Ah screw it... Everyone probably thinks I rigged this tournament so I can win. Well, if that's the case. I'll just hand Mo-Nercył the award.
Unless you guys want him to win it fair and square?
Ok. The choices are.
Agent Proto
Agent Proto just lucked out being the top seeded screen name in his division. Some people are even thinking that I rigged this tournament so my screen name can win. Well, for one. I did NOT FORKING EXPECT MY NAME TO BE HERE. IT'S THOSE WHO DON'T PAY ANY FORKING ATTENTION TO THIS TOURNAMENT. Had you (The one who doesn't pay attention) paid more forking attention, then maybe, we can see edczxcvbnm in the Finals. But no, because of you, the results have been surprising and voting turnouts are unusually low. However in that case, Agent Proto and Mo-Nercył are the few to have benefitted from this. If you wanted to see a edczxcvbnm and Calliope match-up... PAY MORE *ARF*ING ATTENTION Thank you. Well in any case, QUIT COMPLAINING AND JUST VOTE.
His opponent.
Mo-Nercył
Mo-Nercy is a newcomer to the Tournament under this name. Last time, he was Al-Bhedł, and didn't get too far in the tournament. With the name change, he had beaten names like RSL, Misfit, Loony BoB, Del Murder, and Spaceman Spiff. Will Agent Proto be his next victim to joining the likes of O_o, Mikztsu, and Melted Snowman? You decide.
Send in your votes to me and by Friday, I'll announce the winner.
An utter shambles.
*runs from Proto* :p

But maybe next time Proto, win or don't win, you can probably pull your name out of the tournament amid suspicion. Not saying you rigged it(because I honestly believe you didn't, even if I were to go against you and you whooped me), but maybe in the future for the best interests of EoFF.
*doesn't blame Proto* We love you Proto.

Yes. Example.
We love Raistlin.
I don't blame you Proto
We do?

We all tell Agent Proto which names we think are the best, then he ignores all that and rigs it in favour of himself :pQuote:

Yeah, I was going to mention something like Dingo said. If Proto wanted to win, he would've rigged this a few contests back or so, or at least by now.
But that was just to lull us all into a false sense of security.
Just as long as the contest is rigged so that Wes loses always. Which he does.
