It's only fair you get him. You're probably happy I won't get to use Roy Williams against you, though.

It's only fair you get him. You're probably happy I won't get to use Roy Williams against you, though.
Im in two leagues, EoFFFFL and another one, lost both, and not to mention that pretty much all my rosters team has loss also. :mad2:
Actually, I'd rather you had Roy Williams against me since he sucks! (I'm a jaded Lions fan.)
Oh and Hawkeye, I tend not to care if my players' teams win or not as long as they get good stats! Though of course players on winning teams are likely to have better stats, but there can be some good fantasy players on losing teams too.
Hawkeye: yeah, two leagues is tough. I lost both of my first two games. But then I've been on a 3-game winning streak in my other league. However, unless LT gets another 40 point game (or Pittsburgh's kicker gets 15+ points), this could be the first week that I win in EoFFFFL but lose in my college's league.
I'm a little angry about the loss, but that's another story (one I'm sure Del would appreciate!).
Raistlin played Anthony Wright once? I hadn't heard.
Yeah, I was that stupid, and I still beat you. Hah! :p
I did not learn how it feels to be beaten by my former players and favorite defense.
I did learn that even the best get down.
'Tis better to dominate.
Man, if you told me at the beginning of the season that I'd beat Strider and Del in back to back weeks with an average score in the 70s, and that would put me at 4-1, then I'd have laughed a lot.
You caught me on a bad week.
Just take a look at this week and know that's what my team is capable of.
With this kind of luck champ could be well on his way to reclaiming the crown. But then the irony of the title would be lost.
I always feel like my football teams don't come together until around week 5. I have Priest Holmes and Tony Gonzalez coming off bye, with Willie Roaf coming back on the line, and next week you'll see what my team is capable of, even if I am short on WR. I know I can go 6-3 from here out, which would put me at 10-4 and a certain spot in the top bracket.
I scored 94 points with half my team on bye - including two of the top fantasy receivers in the league (Moss and Burress). This week, they all come back, so I'm probably either going to score 150 or 75.
I heard somebody got punched in the nuts today. Who was it?
my team has the amazing ability to make both teams in the matchup score as few points as possible.
hey this is a lot of points for me.
well, at least I have two players who will score points tomorrow night. Maybe Bulger will get hurt or something.
with my luck, it is likely.
I've been lucky the last two weeks. maybe I can keep it up.
I knew there was a reason I drafted Steven Jackson in the second round.
i can't believe how well this has gone for you already!
:mad2:Quote:

I lost two WR and basically lost my defense to injury, so I'm happy to take advantage of the injury problems of others.
edit: Yea, Deuce is the big blow.
yeah, i'm so flustered that i completely forgot about him.
edit: i'm not really flustered. i might type as though i'm worked up about this but i'm really not. still, i really thought i had this one mostly wrapped up. it could still fall my way, i guess. manning has completed 4 to wayne already. so hopefully he keeps throwing to him in the second half. if the colts get back in it, the rams might have to throw more. with martin as qb, they might get so far behind that they have to keep throwing.
oh and wayne just scored a td! awesome.
I definitely seem to be having a charmed season so far. We'll see how this one ends up. I still maintain Wilkins will be the difference.
Wilkins has put up 9, just behind Jackson's 13.
Not bad for one half from a kicker.
Jackson really has 15 (no fumble).
Well nevermind then. >=o
so now there's a fumble.
That's pretty accurate, though I did lurk for awhile before joining and have played through FFs IV-X2.Quote:

I'm selfishly pulling for Eest to win out, just so I can say I was the only one to beat him. :D
RSL beat him too. What happened to Rocko this year?
Not sure about Rocko; when he joined the FF league last year, he said he had basically stopped coming to this forum. I admired his dedication: for the draft in 2003 he had to be awake at 4:30 am Hawaii time. When I watch Broncos games, I always think of his faith in "the great" Ashley Lelie.
I beat RSL in a tough bye-week with Brandon Jones in my lineup. I plan to beat eestlinc in a tough injury week (Moss out) with Jones as well. :)
Lelie looks pretty good now. I'm not going to lose this week, so you might as well start planning for your matchups next week, Raist.
Lelie? He's not in your lineup...O_oQuote:

Lelie is of course a member of the great 6-10 Wildcard. I am sad that our Hawaiian friend didn't make it this year, but at least shinji did, and he likely has the best team of all of us! If it wasn't for the fact that TO hasn't finisned a season in 4 years, I'd pick him for the title.
I didn't say Lelie was on my team. Those were two separate thoughts, thus the period between them.
You won't score 120 points Raist.
I don't know, Edge has some ground to make up if he wants to win the rushing title like I predicted.
He's playing friggin' Houston, who sucks. And Moss is out, so Jordan's going to have his workload cut out for him against a horrible run defense. I predict 50 points from my RBs alone.
Since I faced Gee Whizz in the first week, I have to play him again the last week of the regular season. :(
EDIT: is the rushing title award simply for most yards, or what?
werll I have to play Spuuky again in week 14 and anyone who knows fantasy football knows Spuuky is at his best in the final weeks.
Only if you're in first or last place. :p
Rushing title goes to most rushing yards, yes.
Yeah I beat eestlinc too! But I lost to Raistlin. It's hard to explain how things like this can happen. Beat the best and lose to the worst. Well, I have my work cut out for me this week. I expect I shall continue my trend of not being able to win two in a row.
Hey! >=oQuote:

*whistle*
hey, my WRs have been dropping like flies too, the only difference is they weren't good to begin with. Actually Roy Williams is very good, he's just a Lion.
He's not that good. Maybe Garcia will get him more involved. Haha. Maybe.
My problem is that the people who throw to my receivers are hurt.
Hey guys I have depth at WR...and RB...wait why am I losing so much? If we had 3 RB and 4 WR I would be near the top. The lack of positions hurts me because it leaves a lot more to chance.
Imagine a league were we only had 1 QB, 1 WR, 1 RB. That would be crazy. Or maybe just a single Util player.
yea, if I could start three RB I'd be set.
If we didn't have to start a defense, I'd be set. :p

Yeah, we'd be forced to start Joey Harrington and Alex Smith.
well Raist, your RB and TE matched my RB and TE. Now let's see if the rest of your team can match what I've just put up.
It's possible. I'll need a big game from Bledsoe, Johnson, and Jordan, though.
Dallas is going to have a tough time without Flozell Adams at left tackle, and Julius Jones is out too.
Dallas, run the ball? They never did anyway. :p
EDIT: though they're trying at the beginning of this game, and failing miserably. Just let Bledsoe throw!
I'll be out of town next week so maybe my absense and indifference to the games that weekend will result in a victory.
We actually ran the ball pretty well. It's Bledsoe being a FREAKING PIECE OF CRAP that cost us.Quote:

Dammit. My NYJ upset pick is not off to a very good start. Who would've thought Atlanta could play run defense?
ENFORCERS FIRE COACH
Associated Press
In a shocking move, the Oakland Enforcers have fired head coach Del Murder after a 2-5 start. Del, who led the team to two championships in the last three years, had been having some off-field issues which brought his focus into question. Coming under fire for the recent benching of Kerry Collins, and the controversial decision to stick with Miami defense against the Kansas City running game, management decided to make a move. After starting 2-1, the Enforcers have lost 4 straight, losing most recently to the mediocre Burning Legion. 'We're gonna miss coach,' said running back Rudi Johnson, 'but we have to move forward, not backward. Up, not down. Maybe now I will get the ball more.'
When asked for comment, the highly decorated coach simply said 'I'm not here to talk about the past.' Word is that he will pursue jobs in hockey and basketball, or take it easy until the California Angles begin spring training.
Interim coach will be long time special teams coordinator, repo man. Rumored candidates for the vacancy include young up-and-comer Kirobaito, and veteran fantasy manager Agent Proto.
EoFFFL commissioner Fresno was unavailable for comment.
I'm not sure whether this sudden shuffling will be a rallying point or a further spiral this week against my team.
Also, this firing wouldn't have anything to do with the recent sex boat allegations against the Enforcers would it?
Take care all.
lol
Maybe the Enforcers should give Coach Murder a second chance as the waterboy or something.
Man, I need a defense. :(
repo man is definitely a dark horse for coach of the year!
ENFORCERS GO EVEN FURTHER SOUTH
Oakland Tribune
Only days after firing head coach Del Murder, the Enforcers make another shocking move by picking up and moving to Los Angeles. This comes in the middle of a 2-5 season, and a crucial matchup against The Vagabonds this week. Critics and players alike are baffled by this move, but not 6-10 Wildcard wide receiver Ashley Lelie, 'They needed a change, and made a change. I don't see what the big deal is.' Others feel it is a big deal. 'We had our gameplan for a game in Oakland,' says Vagabonds quarterback Jake Delhomme, 'and this move is very inconsiderate. I can't believe the league allowed it.'
Commissioner Fresno had this to say about the move, 'Both teams are happy with the decision, so I allowed it.'
The Enforcers have been in Oakland since the 2003 season. A move was rumored to take place after that season, but then current coach Murder opted out of it, blaming the league for 'keeping him out of the big market.' His lawsuit was promptly dismissed.
The Enforcers have had struggling ticket sales, despite coming off their second title in three years. The last two home games did not sold out, and were not on local television.
Interim coach repo man was approached for comment, but none was solicited when a wrench came flying in the direction of this reporter.
I would also like to add that Los Angeles is only four hours from Fresno. Come on now, Jake.
The Seven Nation Army looks to get off the schneid this week in a favorable matchup with the injury-ravaged Team Discovery Channel.
I approve of this current round of events.
This week, Arizona receiver Anquan Boldin is possibly out for the year with a knee injury, and Patrick Pass also left his game with an apparent hamstring injury (no word as to the severity yet).
Join us next week for the next episode in this epic series: "Who Does Spiff Lose Next?"
I guess it's mildly worth the chance on Anquan to trade for him, maybe.
Spiff needs anything and everything, so if you have the depth to wait on Boldin, then yeah, it may be worth it.
EDIT: Strider beat you to it. :p
HAH.
Just in case Burleson never turns it around, you know?
I wasn't saying I wanted to, I was saying Strider already made that trade. Although, I did try to trade for Boldin a couple weeks ago.Quote:

Beating Del counts as a moral victory.
As did beating Aexo for me. Now maybe that bastard won't vote against me for his next predictions. :p
I aim to please.
welcome back, Legend.
Too bad Benson went down, but I don't think it will matter. 5 points is ok. If people looking for RB help this week were smart they would have played Peterson against the Niners as well, since there would have been plenty of rushes to go around against that defense on the road. Any SF fan would know that.
I know I'm not smart.
I gobbled up the good FA running backs this week.
Yeah, but you didn't need any RB help, Red Sexy.
I need some production from my Raiders today. They better not let me down, Del.
wtf. I always need RB help. Always.Quote:

I benched Bledsoe and Keyshawn, but now I'm getting the urge to play them. If I do, and they get more than 7 points, I'll be in first place. As is, I'll be in 2nd, just 7 points behind Cap'n.
Decisions, decisions.
don't bench them. do you really think they will combine for negative points?
I would definitely leave them in. I'm ahead in my game with two players tomorrow night and none for him, yet the idea of benching them has never occured to me.
With Bledsoe, you never know. :(
EDIT: RSL, you're up slightly more than three points. :p
I would play them if up by 1 point. You never know when a crazy stat correction might screw you. I know all about that...
I would bench Bledsoe. He has gotten plenty of negative games in the past. Actually, I wouldn't bench anybody because I'd rather give my opponent a fighting chance. I'd rather have exciting matchups than just win all the time. I've already done enough of that.
Except for this year, eh? :pQuote:

And yes, my reasoning was because Bledsoe is horribly inconsistent, and the Eagles will be out for his blood.
This year I tried to win without being cutthroat. And, I failed. Football is not a long enough season for that kind of play. If we played 26 weeks and had 5 more roster spots I would win every time.
Very true (edit: about the cutthroat thing, not about you winning every time :p). I'll definitely leave Keyshawn in, but I think I might bench Bledsoe. The most Keyshawn could hurt me is no production and a fumble, which is just -2 points. I'm up 5 points, so it's Bledsoe that's the only one that could hurt me.
Just remember that total points is the tie breaker and you might be kicking yourself later on for doing this.
if you are so afraid Bledsoe will put up a negative, why is he even on your team? Kurt Warner and Joey Harrington are available and at least likely to put up positive points.
Bledsoe has a 90% chance of putting up positive points. I'm just contemplating if that's worth gambling on being tied for first place. More than likely, I'll start both.
Well, it worked for baseball (both things).Quote:

Might want to look into Samkon Godu, too, for the Packers. Especially against the Vikings rushing defense.
Champ used number two waiver priority to get Gado, a bold and wise move, it seems.
A friend of mine in my other league (a Packers fan) picked up Gado and started him this week over Warrick Dunn. He was nuts all yesterday ("Samkon Gado!").
Though anyone who can pick up 100 yards, 3 TDs in a game is definitely worth a look.
the thing is, it was pretty clear he would have a good game against the Falcons, who are not very good at stopping the run. It's not like the Packers have a lot of other options besides Favre throwing deep. Gado has a good chance of tearing up the Vikings too. There's a reason I used my waiver on him and then played him over much more 'sure thing' Greg Jones (who also rushed for 100 and scored a TD).
And you got a dead-on average game out of both.Quote:

For the record, my computers broken. For the record.
Good thing he wasn't there, then, 'cause with 4 seconds left and no TOs left, if Brown had caught that ball, the game would've been over.Quote:

TO's good, sure, but he's too damn full of himself. He's not in high demand anymore, because every team knows he's a pain in the ass. He'll play well when he wants to, but bitch and moan and throw hissy fits when something doesn't go his way -- like the team not winning every game, him not being recognized for every catch, him not getting "enough" balls thrown to him, him not playing under a "suitable" QB, etc. etc. etc. Good riddance, I say they're better off without him, like the Cubs were without Sammy Sosa.
I just remember thinking "what a stupid pass; if he'd have caught that, time would've run out!"Quote:

No, no. You can't be the best receiver in the NFL if you aren't playing.
The best receiver in the NFL right now is Steve Smith.
TO's in the NFL roster, so he's "in the NFL." He can be the best without seeing playing time if the coach is retarded.
I agree that on the field Owens is the best, but if I was building a team I'd rather have Marvin.
I'd probably rather have a young up-and-comer if I were building a team.
my losing streak needs to end, but then again i was lucky to get as many wins as i have with my "talent" on my roster
I didn't mean building in that sense.
yea, if you are just building for right now, Marvin is the best.
I dunno, there's a lot of great receivers out there. I'd have to say Fitzgerald's probably the best all-around receiver right now, with Steve Smith a close second, followed by Marvin Harrison. Fitzgerald just manages to produce without any run offense at all, even without Boldin in to take some pressure off. Just impressive. And with Steve Smith - everyone knows that he's going to get 40% of the passes, but nobody can stop him. Harrison has much more talent around him.
Harrison would get tons more passes too if he had no other weapons around him.
As evidenced by his record of 144 catches that one season.
If I had to take one receiver to build around, I'd take Chad Johnson.
I'd take Ricky Proehl.
Take care all.
When did that happen? I thought Herman Moore still had that record :(Quote:

Yes, a lot of new names in the top spots this year. I notice the old favorites make up the second bracket. It would be interesting to see how that played out if things stay as they are.
After a tough loss this week, my next matchups:
Boston Knights
spuuky
Gee Whizz
I figure I have to win two of them to have a good shot at the playoffs. It'll be tough, but I like my chances if Bledsoe would start throwing again. Hopefully Edge doesn't get benched as Indy clinches the playoffs.
Who I'm rooting for this week:
Myself (obviously)
The Los Angeles Enforcers
Banana Peppers
Boston Knights
DeathsHand
The Vagabonds
Team Discover Chan.
heh, it is foolish to root for me. I will only let you down. My QB is hurt again, and I foolishly let go of my backup earlier hoping I wouldn't need him. I also could have had a somewhat decent backup in Kurt Warner, but I didn't get to him in time. So my choices were Bulger's back up or a bunch of even worse QBs. This is why I'm not very good at fantasy football.
As I said, I'll continue to try and set the best line up possible even though the consolation bracket is starting to seem like a distant dream.
There's nothing wrong with being a spoiler. I'll be rootin' for you, anyway.
Fresno and I have the same goals until week 14. I propose an unholy alliance.
Unholy is always interesting.
If I can knock off DH this week, which I feel good about, then I have VC who I should beat, and Spuuky who will make a fun closer to the regular season.
If LT can stay under 4 TDs I should be able to handle Whiz without TO. Maybe I should check how Kevin Jones is doing.
not well at all.
Roy Williams managed to go from zero to hero for me, thanks to being in the right place at the right time. reminds me of the TD Koren Robinson got for me last year from falling on a fumbled ball in the end zone.
Or when Moe Williams caught that lateral from Moss. That was so great that Burger King made a commercial about it.
I thought that was Kelly Campbell.
Nope! It was big Moe. Or rather, big Moe was in a play that looked exactly like that. Maybe there were two.
No it was definitely Moe. I had Culpepper on my team that year and that play really helped me as well.
I shall begin campaigning for Carson Palmer as fantasy MVP.
Palmer over LT or Alexander?
DOWN WITH RAISTLIN.
:D
When Shipp runs for 200 yards and 3 TDs as Hawkeye comes back to beat you, I will rejoice.
When that happens, I will torch my Julian Peterson jersey.
The teams with LT and Alexander would suck without them. How is Palmer a fantasy MVP when your team isn't even in the top 5?
I'm not entirely positive, but I believe that could be considered a "burn," as such.
LT and SA are 1 and 1A. No one else is even close.
damn having pick #4.
my ability to pick the right players to start apparently evaporated last week and I didn't managed to reconstitute it in time this week.
Now all I have to play for is a del matchup in the sad sack bracket.
The same reason Alex Rodriguez was an MVP when the Rangers finished last. :DQuote:

Yeah, it would even be hard to put him third before James. RBs rule the fantasy world, you should know that based on your place in the standings, Fres.
Ouch. Twice in a row.
if i end up in 9th that will be quite the embarrassment
IT'S NOT GONNA STOP ME FROM CAMPAIGNING, DAMN IT.
Also, Palmer has scored the third most points in our league, behind LT and Shaun Alexander.
I think "behind" is the operative word there.
At the very least, I stake my claim to "steal of the draft".
You all are missing the obvious: Rackers for MVP!
EDIT: Yeah, I think Rackers wins "steal of the season."
EDIT2: or Chicago's defense. 171 fantasy points? Both of these steals picked up by Cap'n, who's in first place.
I totally just won a game, guys. That's right. I'm comin' from behind, bitches, so WATCH YER BACK.
Playa, please.
i was going to draft Palmer before you did, but he had the same bye week as Brees, so I didn't. Of course, I also drafted new england's smurfing defense, so that shows what I know.
I acknowledge that Palmer was a great pick. Now please, keep telling us that, because I'm sure a couple of random members not in the league who wander into this thread have not yet heard you say it enough times for them to fully grasp it.
Palmer was a great pick.
almost as good as Nate Burleson.
And J.J. Arrington!
I didn't make any bad picks. Maybe Collins. Ok, Collins. :(
Collins is also evil, as Moss is sucking. Keyshawn Johnson is doing better. Moss and Baltimore were probably the two worst picks Yahoo gave me. But then Yahoo also made great picks like LaMont Jordan, Plaxico Burress, Johnson, and Cooley.
Yeah, yahoo picks good teams.
I'd like to ask you all to stop talking about bad picks, because I've got everyone covered.
Huh? Was I booted? :(Quote:
• You are not allowed to view this page because you are not in this league. (Error #152)

Yahoo's being weird. In my college league, I was allowed to view the page, but it was on week 41 and all the players only had their first names ("Carson" instead of "C. Palmer"). I also wasn't allowed to view EoFF's fantasy NBA league.
Now Yahoo says that they're performing server maintenance. Who knows how long that'll take.
Ah, I can get in now. I was worried for a second.
i had problems like that a few days ago
Playoff time! This is the first time champ and I aren't in it (though we only lost by points). Good luck to everyone! I'm rooting for Cap.
The dream is over and now I'm faced with the possibility of losing to Del three times in one season. Good gravy.
Well, at least I get to play RSL again.
Man, I could've been in the playoffs. :(
I still can't believe how poorly I did this year. Maybe next year the draft will be at a time that I can make... probably not.
I probably did better this year than if I had been able to be at the draft. Though I definitely wouldn't have taken Moss with the 9th overall pick, which would have benefitted me since he's been an absolutely failure at life this year. Though I'm thankful that Yahoo had the good sense not to pick Spiff's team for me.
