I'm predictable I guess. :greenie:
Yes, the Bishop is Gologros, who is sacrificed for the Knight Orlandu.
Your turn Despotus. :)
No way was that too predictable, BG. It was a mindbender! I had to take 3 guesses myself!
Stand by for the next riddle, as I need a little time to think of one. And, as a favor to feioncastor,
...I'll try not to make it too "enigmatic". :joker:Quote:

Eight in all are we,
Though, two of us you'll only see.
Six of us you may wield
When stepping on a battlefield.
Six of us contain some magic,
But one of us plays a nasty trick.
What are we?
See y'all soon!

I can't put one past you, BG-57. The guns of FFT is the correct answer. Your turn! ;)
Took me a while to think of the Treasure guns. :greenie:
Dearest skill of love
Cast by one so kind
Yet also one so cruel
Keep close to the ether
maiden's kiss?
Holy? (Wow, I've been slacking over here lately... sorry if anyone has noticed.)
Yeah, I noticed, Karma! Welcome back, don't be a stranger!
And my guess... I keep thinking that the clues point to a rather unique spell that only one good guy and one bad guy have in their skill set. Like maybe MBarrier or something. Am I even on the right track here?
Right track and right locomotive. ;)
The answer is MBarrier. It's cast by Alma, who later is possessed by Ajora, the main villain. If you feed her ethers, she'll have enough MP to cast it a second time.
Your go Despotus. :)
Hahaha, and lol and all that! I really thought I was coming out of left field on that one. So now the dilemma is that I have to think of a new riddle. I'm so unprepared. I'll get back to you soon.:p
*edits*
Here's a pretty obscure one, I hope.
As darkness falls
From earth to sky it calls
One who is carried
And one who is driven
Comparable but varied
Use a skill that was given
What does "it" refer to?
Ultima?
Nope, but a very good guess. Ultima does have different variations, all similar. Ultima uses dark energy. It can be given to one other character (Ramza). And I even think that visually it goes from the ground up. Don't know if you are connecting lines 3 and 4 to the overall picture though. I added the words "and" to line 4, and "use" to line 6 to hopefully make it a little clearer. In another day or two I might add a couple of new lines which I originally thought would make it toooo easy! Keep those guesses coming. I promised you all it was a tougher one this time. ;)
Dark Holy?
Sorry ma'am. Good try. Dark Holy uses dark energy. And it is a sort of variation on the Holy spell. I can see why you might take that guess, but there are other lines that I don't think would fit a description of Dark Holy.
It might help me give you more direction if everybody puts a little bit of explanation for their guesses? It doesn't have to be an explanation for each line or anything but just for why you thought your guess would be right or even close.
well sir, i just visualized each of the lines in my head, and for some reason my guess is:
Wish???
Nope. There are a couple of characters or even a few characters that can use wish. And wish is a sort of plea toward heaven? I don't see your connection to the other lines though. The answer to the riddle is not a skill you'll get to use.
EDIT: Ooops, that clue could be confusing. Allow me to rephrase it: The answer is something that some characters can use (in fact the riddle says just how many you'll see use it at the time), but it isn't an action any of your characters can take in the traditional sense. That's better. I hope it helps. I've also edited my last two posts to include what I think the guessers may have been thinking. However, they're off track. I will let everyone know if someone gets any part of the riddle right. Good luck! ;)
So it's a skill two NPC's share? Hmm.... :shifty:
Blood Suck? Two Arc Knights, Elmdor and Zalbag, use this skill against the party.
Not two NPC's, just one, and somebody else. Gotta go to work. Be back in an hour or two.:)
a wizard type and Ramza
The NPC is not a 'wizard' type, but the other person with this skill IS Ramza!! :D Yes, somebody got part of the riddle right!! Good guess Sephiroth1112! That gets you one step closer to solving it, but there is a lot more to this riddle... :greenie: The first step is always the most important. I think from here things are going to start making a lot more sense to everyone. Keep it up, guys! (...and Kain's_Girl ;))
Let's see...Ramza and Delita share the skill set Guts.
Is it Scream?
As Scream is an action that Ramza can take in the traditional sense, it is not the answer. You must think "outside the box" on this one. I'll say it again, the answer is not an action or spell.Quote:

Is it their actual skill set, Guts?
Not their skill set either. :(Quote:

I'm posting a reply without looking at your last post Despotus. It struck me in the middle of the night that Ramza and Delita share musical talent: they both can play using leaves or blades of grass!
EDIT: Hmm, my guess doesn't quite fit, but I'll keep it anyway.
Oh, for great justice, BG-57!! Make your time! If I say anything more somebody might steal your base and all will belong to them!! What you say? What is "it"!!! Hurry, hurry!
You have no chance to survive make your time! Ha ha ha ha! :radred:Quote:

The identity of 'it' could still be several things, but since it's singular, I'm going to guess the music of their reed flute duet.
As darkness falls, = at sunset
Thoughts of a lost love. = thinking of Teta
From earth to sky it calls; = reeds grow in the earth, and the flute is played into the air
They remember he who's above. = remembering Balbanes who has gone to Heaven
One who is carried = Ramza is carried along by the events of the Lion War
And one who is driven, = Delita is driven by the events of the Lion War
Comparable but varied, = the pitch of their flutes varies slightly
Use a skill that was given. = they're both using a skill taught to them by Balbanes
What does "it" refer to?
"It" refers to the reed flute. You got it, BG-57, your turn!!
A 5-day riddle, not bad. *high-fives meself*
In real life, my FFT knowledge is unmatched by anyone I know.
Then I come to EoFF and people here make me feel as though I'm a newb to the game!
Seriously, it's crazy. IRL, everyone I know that plays FFT comes to me with their questions about how-to's, plotline, and anything else. But here, dang!
Not that it's a bad thing. I'm not upset or anything. It's just weird, that's all.
feion - i know exactly what you mean.
I see it this way: we're all a select group of people from around the world that happen to share a passion for a great but undervalued game. Kind of like a secret society, without the secrecy stuff. :greenie:
What was the motive?
Jealousy most likely
Ironies of ironies
The tormentor
Is more cold-blooded
Than the victim
Who are they?
Dycedarg and his conspirator's? hi everyone, wish I would have come across this site a loooong time ago
Hail, Oromis, and welcome to our "secret society without the secrecy", EoFF! I hope you have an enjoyable time 'round these parts. :tonberry: Hey, I just noticed your birthday is the day before mine! And BG's is right around there too. Let's have a party in Gen. Chat in late Oct.!
As for BG-57's riddle, my guess would be Reis Dular for the victim and Priest Buremonda for the tormentor. Buremonda was envious (motive was jealousy) of the love between Reis and Beowulf, so he (SPOILER)cast a spell to change Reis into a dragon (Reptiles are cold-blooded) and had Beowulf branded a "heretic". That seems to me to be even more cold-blooded than a reptile. Ironic? I'd say so.
Welcome to EoFF, Oromis Finiarel! :) You gotta watch out for those Halloween babies!
Despotus, you are correct! Buremonda and Reis are the two in question. Incidently, the whole Buremonda/Reis/Beowulf subplot is ripped wholesale from Ladyhawke. An excellent movie, all told, but the 80's synthesizer soundtrack is quite dated now. :greenie:
Oh no, that means I've got to squeeze my brain again and try to get another juicy riddle. This is going to hurt. :exdee: Ooowwww!! :Oo:
Okay here it is:
One sought power and was sacrificed,
One sought purity and was punished,
One sought vengence and was redeemed.
One wouldn't invite the hero to dine,
One invited the hero to combine,
One invited the hero to ride,
All invited the hero to die.
Three are one in blood,
Two are one in faith,
But only one is two, in one.
Not really too tough this time. There are lots of clues in there. I am asking for 3 names.:pimp:
Alma Beoulve, Zalbag Beoulve, and Dycedarg Beoulve, and not necessarily in that order.
Very good guess feioncastor, but unfortunately it doesn't fit certain parts of the riddle. Particularly, the line "All invited the hero to die". You could argue that even Alma, (SPOILER)as Altima "Bloody Angel", did want to kill the hero; but Zalbag never really wanted to kill him. Also, Alma was the only one of the three that had a strong sense of faith; here we need two. None of them were seeking purity either, IMHO. The rest of the clues do fit your answer well, so you were pretty close. Try another three people. ;)Quote:

Sought purity, punished= Izlude (SPOILER)wanted a pure, holy Ivalice; his father punished him severely for his failures.
Sought vengence, redeemed= Meliadoul (SPOILER)blamed Ramza for Izlude's death, but eventually saw the error of her ways and changed.
Wouldn't invite the hero to dine= Vormav said something like "I won't invite you to dinner because I'm very busy now." to Ramza at Murond.
Invited hero to combine= Izlude told Ramza he should join forces with them because they both wanted the same thing.
Invited hero to ride= Meliadoul asks to travel with Ramza to see Dycedarg.
And at one time all of them wanted to kill Ramza.
The 3 of them (SPOILER)share the same bloodline.
Izlude and Meliadoul (SPOILER)are Shrine Knights who are faithful to the Glabados Church. Vormav, well...
Let's just say Vormav has some problems brewing inside him.
Neeeeext!!!:tonberry:
Misunderstood as wealthy
Yet so poor
And not by money, necessarily
But by the very essence of life, that is,
I'll approach from the beyond
when you ask me for assistance
Aeris? She owes this ridiculously huge debt to theives that's she's trying to pay off one lousy Gil at a time, by selling flowers. :O_O:
The Soldier Cloud comes to her rescue after arriving from another world where the Aeris he knew there dies.
Nope, but excellent guess. Well fitting, but Aeris is necessarily poor by money.
The answer to this riddle is an entity that is not nessarily poor in terms of money.
Here's a hint. The number "600" relates very directly to the answer.
Ask me for assistance sounds like a Summon to me, poor by the very essence of life makes be think undead, and approach from the beyond again makes me think this is an other planar summon.
I'll guess 'Lich'?:skull:
Just noticed Feioncastor's new clue... I think I may have gotten it! :jokey:
Yep, you're Despotus.
But can you identify all the clues as they relate to the answer?
You've mentioned poor by the essence of life, from the beyond, and assistance, but what's with the wealthy thing? And what does 600 have to do with anything?
When summoned, Lich appears as Rich through a simple L-R confusion common for Japanese translators. And 600 the MP cost I believe.
I think Despotus should have the next turn.
I agree. Bring it on Despotus!Quote:

First of all, she's never on time for anything. She'll make an appointment with a friend or with me; and, for what seems like forever, we'll just be standing around like idiots, wondering what in the hell she's doing, where she's at, and when in the hell she'll show up? And when Miss Molasses finally does arrive, we're running late!
In a "conversation" (if you can call it that), she never lets anyone else talk, but just goes on and on with another lame-ass story that'll bore you into a coma.
If you ever saw the way she acts, it would turn your blood cold. But God forbid anyone should try and criticize her, she'll gouge their eyes out! She makes me sick!!!! So sick, I can't even remember my own name. Have you guessed it? :holmes: My name, that is? ;)
I've read your "story" about 30 times, trying to find some kind of clue, but I'm sure that if it's there, I won't find it. I'm sure that BG-57 already has got it, though.
I have put 9 or 10 clues into this angry little tirade, but I think I should give you a little direction to help your guesses. Look at how my sister's actions affect others (me, you, other people), but don't take it too literally. What I mean is her actions will affect other people, though not me (the answer to the riddle) or you (literally, you, my fellow FFT fan), or even her friends (those who stand with her). And remember, the answer to the riddle is not her name, but mine, her "brother's". Good luck! :)Quote:

Brother/Sister Pairs
Larg/Ruvelia
Malak/Rafa
Izlude/Meliadoul
Dycedarg or Zalbag or Ramza/Alma
Delita/Teta
The brother sounds pretty impatient and adversarial with his younger sister, so I'll guess Malak this time, referring to Rafa. :twak:
Brother and sister are used figuratively. There is no pair of sibling characters that fit the riddle. A hint: Look at the way the sister affects others. There are 8 ways that the sister causes harm to other people. The "brother/sister" relationship is the ninth clue. I'll clue you in on the tenth clue later. I think I've set you on the right path now. ;)

Hint: (SPOILER)What do you see with?
Maybe it's the Ahriman, with its Look of Fright attack which lowers brave by 10? It has a big eye to see with, and leaves its victim more helpless. It is a cut above the common Flotiball and "a cut below" may refer to the brave-lowering attack. You see with your eyes, but I can't think of anything offhand that includes "eye" or "my eyes" or "your eyes" in its name. Except maybe Eye Gouge and that doesn't really fit the riddle. Oh how you torture us, BG. :whimper:
I was seriously gonna say Ahriman but I figured I'd look stupid for guessing something so far off the right answer, so I didn't say it. "I can see you" line made me think of the big eye.
It's not the Ahriman or any of the Flotiball class, but the answer does feature a single eye.

You're close feion. It is a skill.
Mmmmm... a single eye, eye, mmm... *checking rarer skills* Ahhh... Night Sword has the scary eye that opens above the victim and pulls a huge sword up from the ground below (I cut below). I couldn't fool you forever; you're correct Moriarty! :)

The description really does suit any of the super-powerful weapons.
True, many powerful weapons could fit the riddle (especially line 3), but only one has a description that fits it perfectly. Allow me to shed a little light on one of the lines.
This weapon could destroy powerful shields, with or without the 'Shield Break' Knight's skill.Quote:

Leave it to these two
To play king of the mountain
But it serves a purpose
To keep rain from falling
Dang, I'm pretty sure this has something to do with the "Mountain of Rain" proposition; but since the job summary only mentions one entity, a white demon, I'll probably have to go to an older saved game file and do that proposition again to get the missing details. You're a right mean bugger, BG. :p
It's not related to a Proposition. :greenie:
Oh, ahem...erm... back to brainstorming then. :D
I don't suppose you'd drop a little hint about the last two lines? :erm: Does it relate to a rain or lightning skill?
In the meantime I'll guess Larg and Goltana. They were both posturing to be the king, and thus prevent the Atkascha reign ("rain") from falling.
Not Larg and Goltana.
Hint: (SPOILER)Rain is not literal here.
Okay, time for a new hint, Beej.
Hint #2: (SPOILER)It refers to a specific battle.
Oh man, I've got it!Quote:

Actually that's not the answer I had in mind, although your answer fits. :greenie:

you wouldnt be talking about (SPOILER)Ramza and DelitaQuote:
Leave it to these two

would you?
I dunno at all.. Celia and Lede?
You are half right dodhungry. ;)
Is it Delita and Ovelia?
Leave it to these two (Delita and Ovelia)
To play king of the mountain (King and Queen)
But it serves a purpose
To keep rain from falling (they did what they did to stop the people of ivalice from suffering,. Suffering has crying, crying is the rain)
i still say the switches on top of bethla garrison is the best answer.
Perhaps, but I wasn't thinking of the sluice gate when I wrote the riddle.
RedCydranth is half right.
Last Hint: (SPOILER)These two are both guests.
i actually have another guess: the two are delita and algus, and its referring to the battle at the slums of dorter city, where they "play king of the mountain", meaning they try to get to the top of the roof, and the purpose is to keep the rain of deadly arrows from falling onto your party. im aware this could be way off, but hey...BG-57, am I even close?
oo0Oh thats a good one Conan. Never would have thought of that
You are correct conan! :)Quote:

This is going to be a massive riddle, so brace yourself:
C + G + L + M + S + S = _ _ _ #1
HK + NK + SE + NE + SE + SK + IK + KK = _ _ _ _ _ #2 _ _ _ _
HT + A + DS + HP + SS + SD = #3 _ _ _
Z + (2 * UK) + M + BS + S + LB = _ #4 _ _ _ _ _ _
Here's an example of how I mean these:
R + A + Z + D = _ _ _ _ _ _ _
That riddle there is Ramza + Alma + Zalbag + Dycedarg = Beoulve. Now if I put
R + A + Z + D = _ _ _ _ _ #5 _ , then that letter of the word (V in Beoulve) is the answer. This one was just an example though, there is no number 5. Now for the 4 lines above, (#2 is the first letter of the two word answer, both five letters), you should get 4 letters as answers. (Note: Try typing lots of spaces between words in here, only 1 space shows up.)
Now, if you take the 4 letters in order, they are part of a character's name. So if the letters were D, C, R, G, the answer would be Dycedarg.
The character of this riddle appears in one battle in the entire game. Where is this battle?
Anyone have any ideas at all? I have none!
Chemist + Geomancer + Lancer + Mediator + Squire + Summoner = Mime
Very nice Octorok...you have completed 25% of the riddle. Keep up the good work!
Hint: Think of different areas of the game. The other three lines are not job+job = job.
Hidden Knife + Ninja Knife + Short Edge + Ninja Edge + Spell Edge + Sasuke Knife + Iga Knife + Kogo Knife = Ninja Sword
Heaven Thunder + Asura + Diamond Sword + Hydragon Pit + Space Storage + Sky Demon = Rafa
Zalera + 2 Undead Knights + Meliadoul + Bone Snatch + Skeleton + Living Bone = Limberry
My guess is Besrodio, who is held for ransom right before the battle in the Slums of Goug.
oh snap! bg come on, i wanted to reign in terror, to have an unsolveable riddle....oh well, i guess you win. nice job!

I think Octorok should go next, but you can just make another riddle if you like.
What? Nah, I'm no good at riddles.Quote:

When you encounter him much earlier in the game, in the room where he is someone is killed. In the building where you see this killer before you fight him for the first time, there is someone held captive. In the last scene where you see this person, the boss there is first seen in an earlier battle. The monster from that battle has a built in support ability, which can be learned by a certain job. There is a battle where you fight 3 of these, 2 of another job, and 1 of a last job. Directly before that battle, you will have beaten a boss. That boss is later killed by you, and the battle after that has you facing a different boss. Another character in the game can use the same abilities as this boss. The place where you first see this character, there is a battle just before it, where there is a boss. Who is that boss?
Screw it.
I would like it if you would define 'boss' a little better. Could special classed characters like Izlude and Gafgarion be included among these 'bosses'? Or are they all demons like Hashmalum and Velius, etc?
For the moment I'm going to guess Gaffgarion is the last 'boss' that you referred to.
This reminds me that this sort of riddle was the premise of a Spanish game show I saw fifteen years ago called El Tiempo es Oro (Time is Golden). You had to answer a string of related questions using dictionaries, encyclopedias and the like. Half an hour of watching people do library research was supposed to be riveting?
well hopefully you guys didnt need dictionaries to solve that, but yea despotus got it. i'll try to make 4 line riddles from now on.
Despotus, will you repost his riddle and identify everyone he mentioned so I can kind of try to put the pieces together?
umm, new riddle please!
No problem.
Think of a good one, though! :)
Three of a kind are we.
One of us you cannot see.
Another climbs to a holy place.
The third opens up to a familiar face.
Probably not too tough, sorry BG. :eep:
Not too tough which is why I have no idea what it is... Jesus H. Christ...
I just looked through the unexplored lands, and found 3 towers that fit this description...
Mirage Tower, Tower of Babel, and the third line, well, there's one other tower called the Crystal Tower, not sure what the familiar face it is that it opens up to, but there is my guess.
btw Feion, I win the character war on the count of RACISM...hahaha
Conan the Destroyer is correct. The Crystal Tower description says something about a labyrynth around it to keep strangers (unfamiliar faces) out. You're up, conan.
Most characters have one of these,
I have one, but it is the smallest one in the game.
In a battle, you usually won't see generics use these;
You'll see me in chapter 1, in a room with Delita and Ramza.
Who am I, and what are the "things" I'm speaking of?
Well, I know it's not completely battle related because Ramza and Delita are never in a room together in chapter 1 during a battle. I think all of chapter 1 battles are outdoors.
Jeez, I used to be good at this game! Seriously, there was a time when I considered myself educated in the ways of FFT... Dang...
Oh well, maybe I'll get the next one.
I'll reason that the "things" to which you refer are Support Abilities. The "smallest" of them would be Equip Change, at a cost of 0 jp. Algus comes ready with Equip Change already learned, and we see him in a room with Delita and Ramza in Ch. 1. :choc2:
Haha, nice guess Despotus. But anyone, generic or not, could use equip change in a battle. This "thing" is completely unique to the character, nobody else in the game has it.
Hint 1: (SPOILER)In the one scene where you see me, three generics, Ramza, Delita and I all use these things, but of course mine is much smaller than everyone else's.
Is it word balloons?
The first scene in Gariland Academy has a conversation between two generics, then between Delita and Ramza. And Knight comes in and makes a speech and then another female Knight comes in and whispers something to the other Knight. All she says is '...' and it fills a very small word balloon.
BG-57 has got it!

Murond Death City? / Murond Holy Place?
If that's wrong I'm about to look through the propositions....
It's nothing to do with Murond.
Any reason you typed it backwards? Just trying to be fancy? Or does that actually have some significance perhaps??
I think it may be significant. I'll guess you're referring to Nogias, BG. That's "Saigon" spelled backwards and is the first level in the Deep Dungeon. The D.D. is underneath an old lighthouse. That's probably what the "under the light" line refers to.
Bah, I've been foiled again! :holmes:
Only two levels of Deep Dungeon have names that are other words spelled backwards. But Mlapan is napalm, which is not the name of a city.
Your go Moriarty! :mwahaha:
Sorry this took so long.
A monstrous assault
Toxic aroma's at fault
A leader from hell
Can't stop the smell
The trouble abated
Ivalice intoxicated
Something about Balk's poison gas, and Ramza saves everyone by releasing the water at Bethla Garrison?
The next person who does a riddle is required to do one that I know.
Sorry, it is not about Balk and the gas he spread, nor about the sluce gate.Quote:

Second Hint: I changed the last word from "celebrated" to "intoxicated". I thought it might be a bit more apropriate.
You guys and your propositions...
Battle! Demon Lylis
===================
The main product of the Vaccas Brewery is 'Vaccas Liquor'
made from Vacca fruit. This brewery's been under attack due to
the sweet smell of its product. A monster bandit group led by
Demon Lylis attacked for that reason. We beat Lylis and now
their liquor should reach those in Ivalice.
Hee hee hee :p
Your turn, conan!
This character's 11 letter name starts with an F.
This character definitely has the bare handed fighting strength of a monk.
Wherever creatures that self destruct live, this character can be found...
Who am I referring to?
I'm guessing the Flotiball; often found on the same battlefields as Bombs.
Hey, somebody set up us the bomb!
Very nice guess...However, the flotiball does not fit with the second line.
If anyone can solve this, it's BG-57....
Well, it's not a specific type of monster. If it is a monster, it is a random monster name that you might find in battle, and if that is the case, it's a lame riddle.
But I doubt that is the case. There aren't many characters whose name begins with an F.
Look carefully over the lines Feion. You should be able to solve it......
I made it a riddle that you should know.
Conan, you are a devious so-and-so! :evilking:
The answer is EDIT feioncastor!
His name is 11 letters long and starts with an F.
His custom user title says Martial Arts Master.
His location is BG-57's Base, which of course is me.
I use a Bomb avatar and signature, which can self-destruct.
All the same, I intended this thread to be about the game, not about ourselves. I understand why you chose this riddle, though. :eep:
Actually, BG, the answer is feioncastor.
Corrected.
Ah yes! Feion you were complaining that someone make a riddle you could solve! This was supposed to be for you. I tried to slip it past BG-57 and the others... sorry Feion, and best of luck solving the next riddle.
The combination is:
2...3...1...4...5
What is unlocked?
Somebody's bank account? With millions of dollars in it?
Nope.
HintThe key is the sequence of numbers.
Since it's mostly me and BG-57 in this thread, I'm going to post some ideas here to help someone else along, and maybe they can finish it up.
I'm thinking it has something to do with (SPOILER)the jobs, and unlocking an ability....like, gain 2 levels as a knight, 3 as a monk, 1 as a geomancer, 4 as something else....unlocks a job, then maybe gain 5 levels in that job to unlock an ability... but hey, I could be way off here.
The Murond Death City.
In Chapter 3 we first visit the Underground Book Storage of Orbonne Monastery, but we only see levels 2, 3, and 1 sequentially. Later at the end of Chapter 4, we return to the Orbonne Monastery and visit Book Storage levels 4 and 5 and Kletian unlocks the gate to Murond. I'd better start thinking of a new riddle...:mwahaha:
Very nice. So much for my hint....
Despotus is correct! :)
Your go.
Four twos
To Action's call
Vampiric drain
Four fours
The heavens fall
The mage's bane
Beyond my grasp these lie
The riddle I ask, who am I?
Come on Feion, you can get this one! I'm going to let you solve it.
Edit:
....Nope, I've decided I'll take a stab at it. Vampiric Drain is Life Drain from the Oracle, heaven's fall, is Meteor from the Time Mage. The reflect spell is the answer. Neither of these spells can be reflected....
Do I win?
You've solved two lines of the riddle, conan, congratulations! However, the lines "four twos, to action's call, four fours," and "the mage's bane" are very important elements to solving this riddle. Keep breaking it down; you'll get it! ;)Quote:

Yes indeed it does have to do with a job, but not Bard. :(
ok the Four Twos would refer to the Squire and the Chemist being second level to make Archer, Knight, Black Mage and White Mage.
The Four Fours would refer to Lancer, Geomancer, Meditator and Summoner being level four to make one of the posibble answers
Mime>>?
-
Good guesses. But, the four twos and fours lie beyond this character's grasp. The mime only needs lvl 8 in Chemist and Squire, and so I don't see the connection there. Conan already helped you guys along a little by guessing correctly two lines of the riddle. Take another look at his last post. ;)
Could the "Mage's Bane" be the Rune Sword/Blade (I forgot!:p )
I should say not! The Rune Blade, with its +2 to MA, is really helpful to users of magic. A bane is a detriment, a curse, a really sucky thing that causes you to constantly suffer... for mages in this case.:p
I always though a Bane was a Sword oh wellll....
Hmm... Defence? or Physical Attack Power?
nope
Hey, would the line "To Actions Call" refer to the Summon ability?
Alright, alright. The answer to the riddle is the calculator. The four twos are the four "2" spells that can't be calculated, Haste 2, Slow 2, I forget the two others...maybe Raise 2 and Demi 2?
Four fours are 4 "4" spells, like Fire 4, Bolt 4, Ice 4, and Cure 4. Flare and Death should be in there somewhere, maybe they're not. Mage's Bane...hmm....MP Absorb? I thought that could be calculated, maybe it can't. To Action's Call....the quick spell? Either way, I think I've got it.
Yes, you've got it conan! :D
Although, I should mention that the other "2" spells you couldn't remember are Protect 2 and Shell 2; and Raise 2, Demi 2, Flare and Death can all be calculated. So the breakdown is like this:
Four twos: Haste 2, Slow 2, Protect 2, Shell 2
To action's call: Quick
Vampiric drain: Life Drain
Four fours: Ice 4, Bolt 4, Fire 4, Cure 4
The heavens fall: Meteor
The mage's bane: Spell Absorb
These 12 spells are the only Time, Yin Yang, Black, and White Magic spells that are not in the Calculator's arsenal. Your turn, Conan. Nice work!!
Feel free to make another one Despotus...damn am I lazy.
I'll also pass on your generous offer, conan. :D Anybody got a good one??
We are a nuciance,
You only see us 4 times,
We are either beside each other
or up very high,
Are powers are unmatched,
Sometimes we fight with two swords,
We will either kill you or leave you with tons and tons of sores!
Ok, hope this one works.
Ninjas?
Nope
Who do you see only 4 times?
Celia and Lede perhaps?
Sigh....you are Right.
I can fly, I have one eye, I can make you cry. Who am I?
This one is possibly easier than Chocobo Chuck's last riddle...
Floatiball?
Close, but no cigar.
See, I don't ever remember crying after a battle with a flotiball.
Is it Ahriman or Plague?
It could be. You see, Both can petrify you, among a few other status ailments, which are easily cured. However, one of these creatures has an ability, when, if landed, will truly upset you and force you to bring out your mediator to correct the problem. So Feion....which creature is it???
Probably "Look of Devil" by Plague.
It may be Look of Fright by the Ahrimans, although Flotiballs can use it too with Monster Skill. Hmm....
It's the one that lowers your brave. Man I hate that ability! Well I think that's look of fright, but I'm not sure, but It's whatever the Ahriman has.
Since Flotiballs can use Look of Fright too, I'd give this one to feion.
True, but when fighting them in the wild, it's pretty rare that you'll find one that can use it....but either way, my riddle was solved, so one of you can go ahead and post a new one.
The brother may tell you
but don't trust his actions
the iron and vitality
may cause this attraction
To what am I referring?
The brother may tell you - Umm... Dycdarg? (spelling check?)
but don't trust his actions - He is bad
the iron and vitality - Aldramelk
may cause this attraction - Joining Larg?
Hmm.. I am VERY wrong, but I gave it a try...
Actually, you aren't very wrong. You're on the right track.
My guess is you might be referring to the battle where you fight Zalbag.
The brother may tell you: Z. still retains the ability to speak to Ramza as an ally would,
but don't trust his actions: but he is not in control of his actions.
the iron and vitality: Refers to blood, which has a lot of iron and gives us our vitality?
may cause this attraction: The vampiric thirst of his Blood Suck attack.
Tough riddle, Feion-man!!
Spot on, Despotus!
Bring on the next riddle.
