If only I had some sort of scanner-device I'd post some myself. I tried using a webcam to capture my sketches today, but it didn't work. :eep:

>>> You should not be too worried about that..
>>> Another VP drawing. Surt/G.Lord and Freya.

^ nice
Definitely looks great, Black Orb. The more VP art you do, the better off everyone is!
Noooes, it is drowning!
Beautiful colourings.
Anyway, this is a sketch of Relm preparing to draw something and holding a pencil and pen in a very odd way. Based mainly on what I recall of Amano art. I know she's 10, too young to wear heavy makeup on a regular basis, really :P, but she's the sort of person who will probably wear glittery green eyeshadow when she's 95. Dramatic, and artsy. Also, yes, that is the memento ring.
http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k2...berry/relm.jpg
Lovely as always scrumple.
Thanks a bunch ^^, I coloured it soooo
http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k2...mycoloured.png
Come on, post some sketchies! :(
Wow, that looks awesome in colour scrumpleberry
Here's a couple of recent sketches, haven't really done too much lately but meh. So the first one is the pimpilicious Mog which I submitted for the elections (vote for me ;) ) and the other is an original character from a comic I made up simply named The Ice Cream Girl.
Here's one I'm working on at present. I've been playing FFXII and decided that it was about time to draw one of the characters. Decided to draw Ashe. It isn't quite finished yet and then, of course, there's the colour. You'll have to wait for that.
http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...icate/Ashe.jpg
just somthin i drew!
http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y18...IMG_0030-1.jpg
Slade: Awesome.
scrumple: Lovely as usual.
Garnie: I like the eyes.
Just the sig I drew.
http://img529.imageshack.us/img529/9150/jacksig1gk5.jpg
Slade, her expression is perfect and Garnie, nice soft pencilling, I like.
http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k2.../rubyzebra.jpg
Character of mine from a friend's story, my white mage post-ratstail from FFI. Out of a book so bad quality.
Rocket Edge. That is perfection. Love it!!!!! wheee, nightmare before xmas

REVIV'D! LOLZORZ!!
Love it SNOOZ, the lines are so clean.
Snoozer that central one kicks ass. The expression is wonderful.
I has opencanvas demo and I be lovings it. Did these two today.
http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k2...erry/tyron.jpg < unfinished.
http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k2...mariiiiiia.jpg < rather more finished.
http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k2...y/bluegirl.jpg < rather more finished again
Snoozer: The girl with her mouth open is awesome. Nice expression.
Scrumpleberry: I like the bottom one. Simple, yet effective.
Here's a quick sketch type drawing I did after watching Kill Bill again (Kind of going through a Kill Bill obsession at present :D ) Had fun with this one. Decided to keep it sketchy looking, adds to the whole greyscale effect. I like it quite a bit. May even stick it in my gallery.
http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...DIVAS-GREY.jpg
I also included the pencil drawing as an attachement.
There is some skillz in here.
took me an about an hour to do this:
Henry Wong and Terriermon for Digimon Tamers :D
this took me two and a half hours to do with pencil.
Good stuff . :choc2:
So I had this crazy dream, where I had broken a split in my ankle with my fingers, and found a moving eye inside. It was weird and freaky, but I haven't been able to get it out of my head since -- so I did a quick sketch.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...le/legsEye.jpg
Oh and edit: took me 5 minutes, lol.
Pretty sweet.
Oh wow, Omecle, that drawing is awesome. Dreams always make for awesome artistic concepts
lol Thanks. It is a bit weird and creepy. I might try and develop it better if I get a chance.
For 5 minutes, I'm very impressed by your sketch! Especially the foot, the shape and everything looks great! :jess:
And then there's me.
http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g8...nforthewin.jpg
I need to get back to non-funny doodles. XD
Here's the latest one I'm working on for the gallery. Axel from Kingdom Hearts II. Needs a few touch up before I start colouring it, but it still looks quite good.
It does look good, I like your unique style Slade. :D
Thanks man. It took me a while to figure out what sort of pose I wanted for him. In the end I decided to go with a very basic pose and use the fire to sort of bring it out more. Unfortunatly I ran out of room on the page so he only has one foot :greenie:
I don't think that him missing a foot matters at all! It's really good, I like it! I look forward to seeing it coloured! :jess:
Dump of a bunch of paintchat stuff.
http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k2.../pchatgirl.jpg
awww that fairy is sooooooooo cute~ :jess:
Thank you! :D
I didn't feel like sleeping in physics today, so I did a study of girls with horns, because man, they are cute!
http://www.snowy-day.net/stuff/goatgirls.jpg
(sry for blurs, but my scanner is two hours away xD)
Okay, the scanning quality of this is terrible. I did it with biro and it just didn't pick up the shading or anything at all, so the original's a lot smoother looking etc.etc. ;D
Oh well.
You get the idea.
I might colour it later. Maybe.
http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...ut/balloon.jpg
balloooooooooon.
That is awesome, Curtis! I love your stuff! :jess:
>>> Wow, this thing still alive..
awesome..
Cyclops from X-Men xD
didnt take me too long
Meh... mine aren't as good as a lot of the sketches posted in this thread. But here is one of my better people sketches.
I must shade/sketch too lightly... my scanner almost never picks up my lines. That and my symmetry sucks.
Edit-
Well to fix the scanner issue I just inked it this time before scanning. Anyways here is an alternate version of the same character.
I knew not to expect much when I wanted to try and draw this idea I had in my head.... but even I didn't expect it to come out this fugly.... aww well....
http://img145.imageshack.us/img145/3...ksketchlg9.jpg
Girl on the the far right needs an anime style sweat drop yet.... not that I am likely to finish it... I doubt that you can even tell 'who' the characters are:cry: Though I may try drawing the idea again when I get somewhat better.
haha i drw an old man
http://www.snowy-day.net/stuff/oldman.jpg
I adore his expression. He looks like he's musing musingly.
Happy Halloween from Angela from SD3!
Drawn in blue ballpoint pen in Philosophy class. xD

Pretty pretty, Avarice-ness!
http://img131.imageshack.us/img131/8...esign01hg9.jpg
Some character design tests for a webcomic I will hopefully one day continue.
KoShiatar, you must tell us if you do a webcomic. Avarice, that's awesome. SD3 is also awesome.
http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k2...branflakes.jpg
Half an hour of Terra Branflakes transforming in OC. I accidentally only used one layer, so I was about to start it again, but then I thought "meh, what the heck, I'll not erase anything on this pic." Unfortunately, it was about 5 mins after this that I realised her boob was pointy.
Loving that Terra picture, Scrumpleberry. Very cool
Those faces are awesome KoShiatar. I love the hair on the second one at the top. Curly hair is great when it's drawn right. Something I don't seem to do too well (not to me anyhow :jess: )
Avarice-ness, your stuff is always awesome and this one is just as good. Something about the faces you do on your characters convey their individual personalities well :moomba:
Here's a couple of new ones I drew. They're just three of my own characters :D
http://stud.cmd.hro.nl/0796060/jaar1...hets/ryuk1.jpg
My first post in the art department, ryuk, death note.
http://stud.cmd.hro.nl/0796060/jaar1...xionfayth1.jpg
Ixion faythstone, ffx, took me ages. I hope it's visible, I tend to draw very very light.
http://stud.cmd.hro.nl/0796060/jaar1...s/grayfox1.jpg
Gray Fox, metal gear solid.
http://stud.cmd.hro.nl/0796060/jaar1...en---kopie.jpg
And last but not least, Vulcan Raven, metal gear solid. I know the gun is way off, but I'm happy with the rest. And the bird. :choc:
Comments are appreciated! I'll post some more soon I guess.
Looking good Pete. :thumb:
My latest cartoon of the Beatles :D
I'm in the midst of colouring this one.
Love grey fox, il est tres awesome.
That beatles one is fantastic as well.
Thanks scrumpleberry. Here's a coloured one. I haven't chucked a background on this one yet. Can't seem to make anything psycadelic enough yet, haha.
http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...esColour-1.jpg
The Beatles! Yay! I like it.
Only pics I thought were [from scrumplebery's word] awsomesause on the 1st page were from Black Orb and Rocket, and the pics were of Vincent and that Pirate Guy.....
No comment..... O.o *gets afraid of pic and kills self*
What is it? I can't see what it is? :( :mad2:
I can't tell if it's Male or Female. No compliments on this besides that the musles are good. :(
The bow should look more 3-Dish to meh, but over all, it's pretty good.
The face is out of proportion, yet the smiling sun Rox. :D
The face is out of proportion, yet the smiling sun Rox. :D[/QUOTE]
Holy crap I forgot about that picture . At first I was assuming that you were refering to another picture and then I realized that you basically noticed stuff on the first page.
Yeah my faces are normal now. :D
It is really fun to quick sketch starry night like drawings.
A little No Need For Bushido fandoodle. I love that comic.
http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k2...nnfbsketch.png
I like the colouring on those beatles.
Here's a sketch of work in progress;
http://stud.cmd.hro.nl/0796060/jaar1...ts/Kratos2.jpg
Kratos, God of War.
Here's an eye. IT HAS NO EYE LASHES! (i.e. Can't be bothered...)
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...thNoLashes.jpg
I'm impressed. O_O
Why don't you post more often??
Laziness, that and I only just found out today that Photoshop has airbrush options. I really do need to play around with brush settings and my tablet more often -- though I didn't use a tablet for this, just a mouse and some layer masks.
But thanks! I am really digging the airbrush tools and hope that I will do a lot more with it. :)
You drew THAT with a mouse? *dies*
I'll retire on the spot and never post any art ever again. T_T
Actually no, but you made me feel once again ashamed of how poor my art skills actually are sometimes.
All you need is an artistic eye / talent (which you very much have). In Photoshop, you can click the airbrush tool in the brush tool (if that makes sense) and set Flow to 1%, then you can build up with different colour tones. You can also use smudge/blur tools as well as colour dodge / burn / sponge tools to mix colours together and define specific areas.
It's best to start with large brushes and dark tones, then slowly build up to the highlights.
:) I hope that helps in some way, it's hard to explain in text...
Yeah, that's the method I use (I actually prefer to start working from middle range tones, then add shadows and highlights), but... my results just don't have that quality.
I should take art classes.
Just for curiosity, what's the size/resolution you usually start working from? Your work looks very, very detailed. I recently started working in 600 DPI, 300 not being detailed enough anymore, but I often end up building horribly large files that my computer cannot handle. é_è
How can I avoid that in Photoshop?
To be honest, I have really just used 72PPI (like the eye), but lately I have been using 150-200PPI and notice a huge difference. I'd say stick with around 200PPI if your computer can handle it (most likely can).
300DPI if you do plan on printing it out -- at least that's what I've been told (use CMYK instead of RGB then).
So yeah, I dunno.
72 DPI? *swoons*
Phew, seems like you give me a run for my money.
How sexy is that eye? Awesome work as usual Omecle
http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g8...nter_001-5.jpg
IT'S A FACE! >=O
Did like right now at a paintchat.
Double posting, Sorry.
But it's overly elongated fran! =D Done in paint chat.
http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g8...onh2o/FRAN.png
I'll prolly fix her legs later, since I plan on coloring her.
I like the face, you're making progress in computer coloring.
You should consider not using paintchat. :p
Well, I don't really have anyone to talk to while I use Open Canvas, so I go to Paintchats when I'm lonely or bored enough to want to watch other people draw while I half-ass it. I'm in a art rut so watching other people epically own me makes me feel better somehow.
She makes me think of Relm.
If Relm was a hooker. :D
*makes a n00bsh face* What's a Paintchat? You made me want to try it.
Avarice-ness and Scrumple's stuffs is always a pleasure to see
Awesome work you guys :)
I really like the viera avarice-ness :choc:
here's one of my latest drawings, inspired by shadow of the colossus and a painting found on deviant-art;
http://stud.cmd.hro.nl/0796060/jaar1.../colossus3.jpg
That's beautiful. You know, it's nice to see a differant approach to a drawing every now and again. I think I might follow suit.
Thanks, really appreciate it :)
here's some more stuff...

Huge cannon ^
You should try to ink your sketches, both to make them complete works and to get better scans. I wish I would see them then, they look very interesting!
Haven't put anything up in a while...
The first lady is concept building on some doodles I did of Violet from Mercen-X's contest. (I'm sure I've seen Iris as a roleplay or a story somewhere, but I've never read it so I was just going off the Princess thing.) I don't think this is Violet though - she seems far too vampy.
The second girl just worked nicely, which made me rather chuffed. Although I've just noticed I've declined to draw her hand. It's very small, curled under and her cuff is very big, okay?
The third lady's original design (just a pair of AWESOME thighs with those teeny tiny hotpants) was so much better, but I deleted it, and I tried to reproduce the awesomeness about 8 times, but it did not work. She originally had tiny, scrubby bunches, but I can't really see her as a very bunches sort of person. When I cut them off, I felt like I had to give her some small semblance of femininity, so I gave her a skinny ponytail, but that just looked like a mullet, so I chopped that off and stuck on that ridiculous headdress.
http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k2...dlessquish.jpg
I really like the middle character, very well done. You should highly consider doing cleaner line work and shade the middle character!
I GOT BORED LIKE 30 MINUTES AGO! =D
http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g8...h2o/idunno.png
AND THEN I CHANGED THE COLORING UP!
http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g8.../slavegirl.png
omg~! you guys are so pro!
This is probably the 40th time I've said this but Avarice, you are my favourite artist on the forums. I can't get enough of your stuff!
Here's a new one I did after seeing the movie Hot Fuzz. Great movie.
Just a quicky that I did.
No foot because I had no halfway decent references for that pose[Had a couple of the pose but the feet were always cropped off or not visible].
http://img293.imageshack.us/img293/1152/girlvh0.jpg
Slade, you should be a cartoonist, The shading of your drawings and the detail in the glasses! good work ^^
Slade and Avarice are made of win. I like the second version of her better.

BERRY WILL FINISH AN ARTS ONE OF THESE DAYS.
Edit: Thanks very much, I will do my best! I find the toughest part keeping the lines consistent in size...
http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k2...erry/wip-1.jpg
If anyone has any criticisms, feel free to throw them out here while I'm still doing linings.
I want to see that one finished, I like how you're inking it. Thick lines on the outside and thin on the inside always make for a nice effect, hide small faults and give that nice Art Nouveau touch.
>>> FF1 Black Wizard drawing, I`ll try to color it in photoshop.
2007 was a bad year for my art, I hope things improve in 2008.
Wow! really cool! at first i thought it was cloud! ^^
Appoline Delacour. Must be the only fanart of her EVAR.

Batteling a Colossus ^
lawl, love the monster pete.
Generally speaking, I suck at drawing boys (they either turn out girls or about 5 years old) so this piccy of Locke with no room for Rachel on the left made me quite chuffed. He...he still looks kind of like a girl though. If you think his expression is a bit weak for such a vibrant character, me too. I changed his eyebrows because before it looked as though he was about to murder Rachel. I kid you not. EYEBROWS DETERMINE THE FUTURE.
