He's either going down in a) the capture of Storm's End, b) greyscale from Jon Connington, or c) if Dany indeed shows up for the second Dance. My pick for the Iron Throne is Sansa, it would be a fitting implementation of the "bittersweet endings" GRRM has promised, for the girl who dreamed of being Queen in the first book

I've always understood "speculative fiction" as being simply another, more pretentious term for science fiction alone. I know escapist fiction is often considered derogatory, but includes fantasy and occasionally horror.

Also, props for the Gene Wolfe appreciation.

SO ratings time.

At a premiere high, the first episode racked in 6.64 million views. Now when you consider the fact that this is the paid television you're dealing with, that's ridiculous. Count in all the pirating, the thing probably had double that.

Between HBO Go, the premiere, and the repeats, it is expected to be around 14 million viewers which is somewhere close to The Sopranos finale, I guess.
