It's neither the Cloudy Mirror nor the elevator.
However maze is the word I was looking for.

Illuminated in kind
In the labyrinth (Maze)
Illuminates others
The blue butterflies in macalania woods. You have to follow the trail of them if i remember, its been years since i played the game though.
It's not the butterflies in Macalania.
Spheres and the sphere grid?
Is it, along with the process of getting, Al Bhed Primer XXVI?
Not quite done yet - It'd be reasonable to suppose this the last Al Bhed Primer you're supposed to get, so you would be not quite done collecting them before you get this one.
Illuminated in kind Collecting these "Illuminates" the letters of Al Bhed speech.
In the labyrinth No.26 is in the Omega Ruins, certainly a maze-like place.
Illuminates others This could either refer to the collecting of this Illuminating the last letter, or could be a reference to Rin's pleasant surprise at your having mastered the Al Bhed language.
Nothing to do with the Sphere Grid or Spheres, or Al Bhed Primers.
Illumination is quite literal.
is it getting the air ship at the start of the game when you turn on the lights
Nope.
Everytime I check this forum it's BG-57 who has a riddle up
and I can NEVER guess...
hmm
Does it have anything to do with those fiends that attack at the start in Zanarkand? idk?
Heh. :D
It's not the Sinspawn but it is a Fiend.
is it the final seymour confontation? i think it's seymour nautus. He has a variety of lights behind him which indicate his elements and he's inside sin, which is a lot like a maze!
Nope, it's not a boss.
elementals?
Not Elementals.
