I had hoped in the early days that the greater amount of armor customization would mean it actually made a difference, eg giving you higher shields or a speed boost or more charge for your jetpack and so forth. Sadly not :(

Sadly?
Smurf that. That would mean that the dudes with no life have even more leverage over you. Can you imagine the 12yo smack talkers that become a 5 star general have 3 times the shields you do?
Screw that, I like it better this way.
yeah, having advancements would make it unfair for the other players.
I finally grabbed my copy of ODST today and got Reach installed.
I was in RAGE before since my original copy of ODST I bought (second-hand) was scratched to bits and my 360 couldn't read the disc, but I kept it since I could use the Multiplayer disc to play online with friends.
Will try out Reach a bit later, hope it's good.
Yeah except that you would simply make the gameplay choices available to all from the start and keep the cosmetic stuff as ordinary unlocks. Was my thinking. All I can tell you is that this is an area where CoD severely, severely beats Halo.
Invasion is up and it is the best :bou::bou::bou::bou:.
Honestly not grokking invasion for some reason. Just not doing it for me in any way.
It's the new Multi Team.
But Multi Team is awesome :(
I think invasion is good fun, though the way Bungie went on about how awesome elites were in it isn't quite right imho, I played 1 game as an elite and the rest as a spartan and well we won almost all our games as spartans. I feel whilst being faster and bigger in close quarters is better the spartans so long as they know how to utilize the marksman class available from the offset well can prevent the elites ever getting close enough to be truly effective. I think it only happened in one match but we actually did stop them cold, the other 4 spartans held the left side of the initial battlefield and myself and Psy held the right side alone, the elites just didn't stand a damn chance.
OH, THAT'S WHAT INVASION IS.
I haven't played at all today, I will after Iron Man 2.
That sounds pretty awesome, actually.
I love INVASION!!
Invasion Slayer and normal Invasion are my favorite modes so far.
I really like how each class has their own move set. The gaurdian Covenent is such a joy to play as!
I also got my first taste of ODST Firefight today, and I'm loving that up aswell.
I can't wait to set up a party and then try playing Firefight
I definitely feel that Elites are stronger, however, I also feel that humans have access to better beginning builds late, and what people don't realize is the Elites have a much, much, much tougher job. Elites don't have to win once, but 3 times, including getting the core which is incredibly frustrating.
Speaking of getting the core, I destroyed my friends yesterday. They were mere centimeters from scoring the core and I was WAY out of range, few awesomely placed grenades, and when he died, the core was literally in the circle, merely picking it up would've been victory. I turn around to see my other friend zooming at me with a ghost to try and splatter me and attain victory. What happened? Two words: Grenade, smurfing, launcher.
I hope they decide to make a version of invasion where you can play without getting split from friends though as it seems perfect for the Call of Duty War Mode fun we used to have in the past, shouting "DEFEND THE BUNKER" "BRING DOWN THE RIECHTAG" only as badass smurfing Elites.
Elites aren't badass, they are worthless alien scum and you'd do well to remember that.
