Actually, it's not. Since every complete bar is 200 HP, you can simply measure the length of the given bar, and reduce it to the correct value by using the properties of multiplcation/division (ratios and proportion). Application of in-game knowledge runs along the lines of appreciation. I can't do major plot questions yet, because apparently, people in Europe don't have the game.

If you wanted a rigged question, I would ask you to determine the percentage of dropped items for a 2% dropped item with seven Lucky Luckys equipped, since I don't feel like doing diminishing returns, or math, you could do it for me.

The pause button, obviously. You don't need to be a computer, just basic Algebra skills and a ruler.

Also, I did it. I didn't initially trust the Strategy Guide when writing HP for enemies for the frontsite, but apparently, they did their work well.

And if you look at Sephiroth, he has 3000 HP. 15 bars. Note the coincidence? The game doesn't use different length bars for bosses or enemies; if they have less than a bar, then the bar is equal to their HP. If they have more than a bar, say 215, then they would have a full bar, and a second bar (which is initially shown), with the actual HP part in dark green, and the remainer of 200 in light green.
