New update today. Tourney mode
Tourney is short for Tournament. Nonetheless it is still cool.
A playable Earthbound character has been added to the roster! Here's the thing, though. It's not Ness!
Check today's update to see who it is. You'd be surprised;)
That kids scary I mean look those big black holes for eyes.
*Shudder*
Ness is from the old Mother games. Lucas is from Mother 3, the newer game. Lucas will likely play a larger role in Brawl than Ness does, if Ness stays in the game.
I don't see them removing Ness, but they'll likely be focusing more on Lucas this time from the Mother games.
I don't recall them saying that they 'got rid of' Roy and Marth. As far as I know they haven't said anything definitive about any characters not reappearing, just the 'there will be no clones' comment.
Correction, JKTrix. Ness is from Earthbound, Mother 2. There was no other Mother game that he appeared in. However, he did borrow the design of the main character of Mother 1, Ninten.
It looks like Lucas made it as a playable character despite being a Japan Only Character. This is really great. I look forward to seeing his moveset.
The update today does kind of lower the chance of Poo, Paula, and Jeff making it in (seeing as how only lead Mother characters are playable so far). But seeing Lucas (a Japan Only character) being playable increases the chance of characters like Stafy, Lip, and our favourite swordsman (Marth & Roy) making it in more than makes up for it.
Isn't that still Ness in the NES Version of Mother?
How cute does Kirby look in that image :3
No.
"EarthBound is a distant sequel to the original Mother, with many characters, themes, and tunes borrowed from its predecessor. Many of the characters and settings are very similar, but the only explicitly returning character is Giygas, who swears revenge at the end of the first game (evidenced by Mother 2's Japanese subtitle: Gyiyg Strikes Back!)."

A nice video of Snake taking on Mario, as well as some other takers. I'm thinking I like the way he looks like he plays, his attacks seem fairly strong and quick, and his Specials are pretty versatile. Also, some info on Snakes stage, Shadow Moses Island. Wonder how that ComLink thing will work out, and if it only happens when Snake is fighting on the stage.
"Otacon, what's that lizard thing?!"
Probably the best update thus far.
