I may have now seen the first four episodes. :shifty: Some major deviations from the books. The very most important is that (SPOILER)Lollys Stokeworth is actually attractive.

Go Jon, doing the right thing.
I feel like this episode wasn't that strong. I did like the Margery and Loras interaction though.
There was a lot to set up, so it wasn't strong at all. Not the best dialogue or characterizations either. Very teaserific. It's got me quite excited for the rest of the season, though.
I'd like to be patient but the rains of castamere have been torrential here and there are, what, three more leaks to patch up? I feel like patching those leaks is the responsible thing to do.
Yeah, I think the first episode of Game of Thrones in any season is like this, and we've all been so hyped it's kind of a come down when it's just the reintroduction of characters. We didn't even see Arya or the new Dornish girls. Still, Pod was sweet and remains awesome and Jon trying to persuade Mance and the latter's defiant nature was great too.
I already forgot most of it rofl.
So did anyone else see the Unsullied at the brothel and think Grey Worm was recast for like 5 seconds?
lol yeah. I thought it was Grey Worm at first that's why (SPOILER)my jaw fell to the floor when he got his throat slit. And then Grey Worm is with Dany and them. Crisis adverted.
Jon Snow. What an honorable ending.
Such an underwhelming premiere but Cersei being Cersei will always be interesting. I wonder if the actress gets tired of frowning and intensely looking at things though.
woop woop a Popcorntime has all 4 of them :3 i can not contain myself and watch them all!
well.. not imediatly.. more like.. tomorrow...so..yeah..

That's what we did, we were freaking out a little bit.

Add me to the list of people who were shocked to see a new Grey Worm become a dead Grey Worm and then a White Rat or whatever.
When I realised that the girl in the beginning was Cersei getting her prophecy I was excited. That part really explains a lot about her character. Kinda sorta a small book spoiler unless you paid enough attention to that scene?I hope we get the third question and the last part of the prophecy soon!
Mance was great as always. RIP.
What, do all Summer Islanders look the same to you? Racists. :colbert:
not really a spoiler what do you mean? she asked 3 questions: when will i marry? I will become Queen, though? and will we have children? I caught that she said ALL her children will wear crowns so guess that means something with her daughter?
This was my favourite scene. I actually watched it twice as Mance was awesome in it. I'm glad he didn't bend a knee and equally glad Jon didn't let his people hear his screams.
Millionth person who thought this was the case... checking in. Though why he paid money for her to hum at him when she was truly awful at humming?? Maybe he paid to have his throat cut as well.
I suppose I should just come back to this thread in a month then when episode 5 has aired. Here's me thinking I was cool for once being caught up with GoT :(
I'll keep spoiler tagging just in case, but yeah nothing majorHm, well... I kinda saw that middle one as more of a follow-up to the first question, but now that you mention it, maybe... If that was it then they removed the most interesting part, though.
not really a spoiler but an answer to a not really spoiler Im asuming its because she will wed the dornish prince?
not a spoiler either but a large picture: what kind of GoT watcher aere you?

My boyfriend is definitly a nr 1.. when i talk to him about it i always have to describe everyone in detail before he knows who im talkingg about
i am a little bit of 5 and a little bit of 8 :3
I'm pretty sure their golden "crowns" refer to the fact that they all have golden hair since they're actually Lannisters.
Golden shroud possibly refers to the fact that they're all going to die before the series is over, and they will wear the yellow Baratheon shroud.
We watched all the leaked episodes last night. Very good stuff, and we'll most likely watch them again as they're released one by one because a lot goes on in Game of Thrones it's easy to miss things.
i need someone to complain against :3
episode 4 stuff i feel so sad for Tommen, he is so innocent and sweet and trying to do everything right ;_;
pfff.. what a cliffhanger! now i regret watching all 4 episodes!
Episode 4 StuffSo naive, too.
I'm wondering why he's not wearing his crown, though.
I totally did.
Decent first episode! Not groundbreaking, but pretty okay. I'm going to watch the rest as they air. For some reason, I could have sworn we were further along in the story than where everything is starting. It's been a while; I should have marathoned beforehand.
A decent setup episode. Man there are a lot of threads in this show. They got to Pod/Brienne, and I was like 'hey look more characters.'
Best scenes were Tyrion & Varys and Jon & Mance. I'm excited to see if and when Tyrion actually gets to Mareen. More of these splintered twosomes need to meet.
Bear Diary Day 96:
What a lovely surprise for tea tonight: Fajitas! OK, they are difficult to hold in my claws and the spicy sauce makes my pooh stick to my arse fur... but it was lovely all the same :-)
My elation was short lived though after overhearing Kevin (the guy who cleans up my crap) chatting away before. The mouthy prick has leaked my next three meals! I do like surprises and hate hearing spoilers about what's coming up. If I could talk, I would leak to him that I'm gonna remove and eat both of his legs. Oh well, we'll see if he likes surprises too...
Those are perfect.
You might like this. A couple of years ago I got the pictures and posted them here on the forum, but I guess the pictures have been deleted from my Photocbucket (I didn't do it!).

OMG lol!
-sees topic change- Speaking of winter, anyone else wants the last scene of this season to have snow falling from the sky? I can't help but feel that's what they'd do when they introduce winter. Wait until the VERY last scene of the season and then make us wait another year.
well ofcourse they will because that is how tv shows work..
just like with the walking dead they showed a teaser or Morgan at the first episode.. only to reveal him at the very last episode of the season..
You know nothing Jon Snow http://img-9gag-ftw.9cache.com/photo/anKDPDn_700b.jpg
Wait
Am I the only one who thinks that Ramsay Bolton looks like Bubba?
Bubba Bolton sounds like a pro-wrestler.
They have the same hair at times? I can see it. THIS PICTURE WAS FROM THE PICTURE THREAD, I'M NOT A STALKER.
Attachment 63906
They have the same blue eyes, face structure, and nose.
Ramsay Bubton.
My ears are far superior.
How is not having half elf half hobbit ears superior in any way?
Lord commander snow. Jaqen Haqar. Mothersmurfing drogon.
Good episode.
Jon Snow is moving up in the world.
I AM SO EXCITED THEY BROUGHT BACK JAQEN (or at least his actor)
This episode was also kind of boring. Needs more Drogon and Secret Assassin Society.
But but... Lord Commander Snow.
Jon Stark. Sam the Slayer. I crai evry tiem
Feels like this was 'season opener setup episode' part 2. Some of the bits at the end actually got somewhere.
I got really excited when Cersei said to Jaime "Our son set to marry that smurfing whore from High Garden!"
I thought to myself "She actually said 'smurfing'. How?!"
Anyway, it turns out she said "smirking" and I was disappointed :(
I think this is probably one of the episodes where you had to care about the characters a fair deal to find it interesting. I do, so I liked this episode, but then I got to work and most people thought it was boring. I was like "whaaaaat"! Jon becoming Lord Commander and the return of Drogon are pretty momentous events in the books, and the return of Jaqen H'ghar hasn't even happened yet, so it's possible some excitement spilled over from that. I can see how they wouldn't be that shocking to a show watcher as the storylines are pretty compressed in the show and Jaqen and Drogon haven't even been gone that long.
I'm a troutbum and watched all the leaked episodes. Sansa's story is the most interesting AND THE MOST smurfED UP. I don't think any of it happens in the books.
-covers Arya's ears- This is why Cersei is best character.
So does Grey Worm have a penis or what?
The mystery of Grey Worm's worm.
For Missandei's sake, I hope he does.
Only one way to find out.
Not it!
I can't remember if the Unsullied have just their berries removed, or their twigs too.
Because you can definitely still have some PiV if there is a twig.
Sorry but that last episode was great because it was DR. JULIAN BASHIR'S HOLOSUITE FANTASY
Seriously, where tf is Gendry.
He's smurfed off, probably for good. No one cares that he's Robert's bastard anymore!
He's smithing for Beric Dondarrion, how do you not know this :colbert:
That was before Melisandre kidnapped him and put leeches on his peep!
damn it I forgot about the penis leeches
I think what's going on in King's Landing this year is mainly going to focus on the power struggle between Cersei and Margaery. That makes me REALLY excited, because I find them to be two of the most entertaining characters on the show.
I hope the grandma comes back. She's the best character not named Tyrion.
I know! What the heck is up with that? Margaery just barely mentions that she went back to Highgarden. According to Olenna's show wiki page, she's supposed to be in this season.

Arrested Westeros makes my heart sing.
This was too funny not to share:
https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CDZkz37UUAEmon3.jpg
Ron Howard needs to start narrating Game of Thrones. Or at least do Arrested Development-style narration/commentary for one of the episodes as a DVD easter egg.
Thank you, Shaibana. I finally have a reason to post this:
The man who passes the sentence must swing the sword. Mothersmurfing Jon learning from his daddy. I bet he never thought he'd be in a position of power to have to do it though.
Sansa though, wth.
That's not how this works, that's not how any of this works!
http://giant.gfycat.com/BlackElatedHarpyeagle.gif
I'm really glad I watched the four episodes when they were leaked because I think it's much better than waiting week-to-week for this type of show that has a lot of buildup throughout the season for a great payoff in the final two episodes. However, I'm hoping there is a mid-season impactful episode of a Joffrey's wedding type significance because I certainly didn't see anything close to that through episode 4.
I'm starting to really like Netflix's model of releasing the whole season at once because then you can go at your own pace rather than a forced weekly pace. Sure you could wait until the end and download the whole thing but it's hard to avoid weekly spoilers of such a popular show.
I could see the argument that most of the season is buildup for some earlier seasons, but now I think we're just spoiled by the big drama in the crescendo episodes, honestly. A lot has been happening in these three first episodes, by any measure. We just don't appreciate it as much cause we're always anticipating those mega shockers. I've been enjoying it a lot so far, anyway.
-Tyrion and Varys are going to Dany
-Sansa and Ramsay are going to wed
-Jon Snow is Lord Commander of the Night's Watch
-Arya has begun her training to be a Faceless Man
I dunno, those are pretty big things.
Bear Diary Day 113:
So pissed off right now it's untrue. That bitch Bobby-Jo on the front reception desk has been selling bear figurines in the Harrenhal gift shop. I have never and will never agree to have my likeness used for merchandising purposes.
That last episode was really good.
Margerey vs. Cersei was really good.
Jon Snow was really good.
Tyrion was really good.
EVERYTHING WAS REALLY GOOD
The wedding of the King of Westeros to a woman his mother hates, Jon Snow becoming a man and decapitating someone, Tyrion being kidnapped by random Jorah out of nowhere, open rebellion on the streets of Meereen from shadowy figures in masks, the head of religion in Westeros being stripped naked and deposed by fanatics, Sansa finally going home and coming face to face with the man who murdered her brother, Qyburn somehow making corpses reanimate... nothing really happens in this troutty boring show, does it?
This is the point when I really start to look forward to Cersei's story. I'm eagerly looking forward to more of it.
Allow me to nitpick my good sir.
There was a wedding? I blinked and missed it.
Admittedly cool. And that character was annoying. Jon's story is by far the best this season.Quote:
Jon Snow becoming a man and decapitating someone,
Although a cool event, this is a good example of the pacing issues of the show. Episode 1 Tyrion and Varys decide to go see Dany. Episode 2 they are traveling in a carriage to go see Dany (Tyrion himself admits that this is boring). Episode 3 they are still traveling but at least at the end he gets kidnapped. Episode 4 (SPOILER)still traveling! at least in a boat this time.Quote:
Tyrion being kidnapped by random Jorah out of nowhere,
It's hard for me to care about what happens in Meereen. I guess it shows Dany can't rule which affects her development but people in masks with an unidentified or unimportant allegiance killing random nameless Unsullied is not really interesting. Also it really bothers me that the Unsullied are supposed to be warriors with 1 Unsullied worth 10 men and then they are getting beat by these random mask people. Don't care at all about the mask people.Quote:
open rebellion on the streets of Meereen from shadowy figures in masks,
The main religion of Westeros in the show (maybe not in the books) seems to take a back seat to the religions of the Northemen and the Lord of Light. Up until this time it has not gotten a lot of exposure or been shown to be of any importance to the main characters other than Catelyn and perhaps Sansa. So to a viewer this stuff feels like filler. Also old man butt is gross.Quote:
the head of religion in Westeros being stripped naked and deposed by fanatics,
Sansa's story has been the second best and that scene with Roose was very good. However, I feel like they totally glossed over her I don't remember of this part aired yetreturn to Winterfell in one scene in a basement and I felt it was wasted opportunity to have a significant moment for her.Quote:
Sansa finally going home and coming face to face with the man who murdered her brother,
He made a sheet reanimate. Also I didn't even know that was his name and I've already forgotten it because TOO MANY CHARACTERS!Quote:
Qyburn somehow making corpses reanimate...
Maybe some of you who have read the story are filling in the blanks with stuff you know happens in between. In terms of progression, sure the story has progressed in these episodes. The story could also progress with a scrolling marquee at the start of every episode. That doesn't make it great television.
I will say that I have not been bored at all during this season. It's just that this show only has 10 episodes per season and I don't feel like most of this season's storylines are already 40% complete.
Remember how shocked we all were when we thought Grey Worm died in the opening scene?
Yeah, that Unsullied who died should have been Grey Worm. Would've meant more. Apart from that I actually enjoyed the stuff that's been going on in Meereen.
Episode 4 SpoilerThey should still feel bad for how they treated Barristan.
Sansa's storyline has taken a turn for the terrible. Although I am excited for Arya's assassin training, not much of anything has happened apart from set-ups for what will or may happen. This season has been a bunch of filler. Episode 5 better deliver or this show can kick rocks.
i cant remember anything of this.. enlighten me pleaseQuote:
Qyburn somehow making corpses reanimate...
In Ep 3 Qyburn is in his dungeon and he's writing a letter for Cersei, when suddenly behind him a table with a cloth over it jumps up. We don't know what is underneath it, but he shushes it.
aah yes, its comming back now.. a little bit
I can't wait till episode four has aired so I can re-read this thread.
Poor Richard Carlisle. He has no luck with the ladies.
Daenerys Targaryen is not the Mother of Dragons. She is an impostor! There is only one woman in all the land who deserves this title and a seat on the Iron Throne!
Asha'bellanar the Witch of the Wilds is the goddamn Mother of smurfing Dragons!
https://38.media.tumblr.com/7afafa5c...zo3_r1_250.gif
https://38.media.tumblr.com/be579f2f...otbqo1_250.gif
But she doesn't give a smurf about the Seven Kingdoms or their problems. She's off doing her own thing and anybody try to mess with her is toast before they even know what's happening.
I'm sorry, this has nothing to do with Game of Thrones, but there are dragons. See?
Best line so far this season by the way:
Varys: "Are we really going to spend the entire road to Volantis talking about the futility of everything?"
Tyrion: "You're right. No point."
Varys faces in the past episode were the best.
https://33.media.tumblr.com/b3b96bbf...senao3_500.gif
It's okay, Varys, he didn't mean it. He was going crazy inside the wheelhouse.
can't wait to get all caught up so I can actually read this thread -_- Just finished season two. We're watching two episodes a night so I should be caught up before too long :D
This season really hasn't hooked me yet, I find I'm watching it more just so I don't get it spoiled on the internet, than I am because I'm enjoying it.
This season is starting a little slow. Maybe tonights episode will kick it into gear.
I recently bought Carice van Houten's record "See You on the Ice" after hearing a few of her tracks and falling in love with the album. I sent her a picture of the vinyl spinning on my record player and she was nice enough to respond to me on twitter.
It's safe to say this night is not dark and filled with terrors. I'm so elated.

Ser barristan :(
And what's with Jon and red heads.
Well he turned Roz down!
I hope Barristan is still alive or I'm rioting.
Same here. Episode 4 was the best thus far but I feel like we've seen about two episodes worth of storytelling for each character rather than four. I guess it is really hard with so many different threads. I'm actually quite happy that they are skipping over Bran's story this season because it would just make everything go that much more slowly.
Now that this has finally aired, I can ask what the smurf is up with the Unsullied getting beat down so easily by these masked guys? I thought Unsullied were like the best warriors in the world.
I think they are more align to spartans with how they do phalanx so it's all about formation. The way you beat that is by flanking them so they can't form a wall. They SHOULD have just formed a wall right away but in the dark and close quarters, it's kinda hard to do. They are meant for the battlefield, not the back alleys.
Barristan also is an amazing sword fighter but he:
- wasn't wearing armor
- was in a back dark alley
- Killed like 12 guys
- Was flanked
- is like 70 now
If Barristan is dead, I'ma be maaad.
Don't really care about Grey Worm.
Well it looked like in the preview he was on a slab dead as a door knob but he may just be laying there?
DRAGONS!
Was Ramsy and Sansa having...?
Oh trout.
I think he's dead. That type of epic 'I'll take down 12 guys before finally getting overwhelmed' fight scene is consistent with killing off a character (hello Boromir!). I think Grey Worm lives, though, since he didn't get the same kind of fight scene.
At first I thought it was Sansa too and watched it a few more times, and I think Psy is right.
Yah, I just paused it and it's totally that myranda girl and not sansa.
Well now I am less interested.
So, does anybody else think (SPOILER)Jon Snow's real parents could be revealed this season? I can't think why else they would add in that scene with Littlefinger & Sansa talking about Lyanna this early. :excited:
(SPOILER)I don't know, but now that you mention it I want it to happen :excite:
If you want to know whether Barristan is dead or not, here's an interview with the actor himself.
Rewatched the episode and a couple of thoughts.
The Sand Snakes are smurfing horrible. I think they somehow made Dorne worse than it was in the books. Hey look at how badass we are I'm gonna tell you an awkward bit of backstory about how badass I am and let's randomly torture and kill this guy who helped us did you get the fact that we're total badass clichés yet? Ugh. Arianne would've been far more interesting than this dross.
In terms of actual badasses, smurf me, Lancel. Full on Charlie Manson. I'm glad they've put a face on the Sparrow movement. It's a really big transformation for him from where he was as Robert, Cersei and Tyrion's bitch.
Stannis and Shireen. All the feels. I have a horrible feeling something bad is going to happen to one of them.
Mace Tyrell's dad joke and the absolute :| reaction of Cersei and Qyburn killed me.
The guy Loras has been banging - Oliver? Olyvar? I don't remember - is basically the new Roz, isn't he? Complete with the "This is Lord Petyr Baelish's establishment!" line.
"Aren't you and mother getting along?" Seven bless you Tommen.
I've been rewatching S1 over the weekend and in Episode 1 Robert puts a feather on Lyanna's tomb. Sansa picks up that same feather in this episode. Neat throwback.
I really want a Tyrion and Jorah bromance to develop. Though I'm more than happy with the Jaime and Bronn bromance. The look Bronn shot Jaime when he said he thought sharks were going to get them. And (SPOILER)Selyse and Stannis's conversation about Jon: "A bastard by some tavern slut" "Perhaps, but that wasn't Ned Stark's way" and then Melissandre saying Jon has power. Oh and Barristan mentioning Rhaegar too!
Yeah, Barristan is a goner.
Lying on a slab surrounded by people looking upset/angry generally means you've snuffed it. I should have known when he had that nice exchange with Dany and I thought "I really like Barristan"... that was a clear indicator that death was imminent.
I'm not clicking that link, Psych. I'm still in my denial phase. If I was Crown Prince of the Seven Kingdoms the man never would've left King's Landing!
Hey jerkface, why don't you let us have our one week of denial, please. The fact of posting a link with an actor interview is basically saying (SPOILER)he's dead. I don't have to read the interview to know which way it went. That means it's your fault (SPOILER)he's dead, so you suck. (SPOILER)Not legitimately mad. Playing it up. But I did love Barristan. And you do, in fact, suck. =P
Good smurfing grief, I couldn't agree more. That was so incredibly disappointing. They've done so well with so many badass female characters, I can only guess they thought they had to one-up themselves and concocted this parody. But maybe the characters will flesh out better in the weeks to come. That was just a terrible introduction.
Best turnaround I-hate-this-character to I-love-this-character since Jaime in seasons 3 and 4. I wish they had set all of this up a bit more in past seasons, but nevertheless I'm liking the High Sparrow, Lancel, and their posse.
Maybe the sweetest moment in the whole series? (perhaps I'm biased, though). I'm not into Stannis like the rest of you so I don't care so much what happens to him, but if something happens to Shireen that's just smurfing bulltrout and I'll never watch another episode.
Yes, that was fantastic, and seeing as how they don't often do things like that in the show, I'm guessing it has even more significance than just a throwback. We may be approaching a revelation this season we (or I, at least) weren't expecting.
No, it's a perfect love-hate relationship brewing. And that's so much better. Tyrion is at his best when he's dancing the line between outright insolence and playful smart-assery.
They play off each other beautifully. It's a great pairing, both in terms of characterization and for the obvious chemistry between the actors. I hope this storyline with them stretches on a bit.
Shireen for the Iron Throne.
Screw these show sand snakes. Mega disappointing.
So did melisandre say the famed line to Jon Snow as a coy "I have power and know things" sense or was it solely a nod to the audience as a joke?
I know very little about the Sand Snakes since I never got that far in the books, but as a scene on its own I found it very cringe worthy.
Hey, the white walkers eating everyone in Westeros would be just as entertaining as a political drama with a few fantasy elements.
Sidenote: Is this eoff's longest-running thread?
I can think of at least one that is probably longer.
The thread of no return has me beat by a year.
It's pretty big for a thread where no one returns.
The what are you listening to thread in the lounge has been around much longer, over 10 years.
Oh I forgot about that one cause I never post in it lol.
I made you one with a twist.

My sister has it too, it’s a family trait."
nope she is constantly sucking on lemons
It will ruin her teeth, really.
So I watched the Red Wedding last night. Holytroutsmurf
lol. Well, I knew their deaths were coming. I just didn't think it was that wedding. I figured it be the little twat king's wedding. that's actually why I ended up watching the show instead of drudging along with the books first. Too much had already been spoiled for me.
Oh no. Jorah!
Also grammar nazi stannis was great
I liked this episode. With no King's Landing or Arya it was a lot more focused on some of the stories.
I was really looking forward to dorne but then I saw the preview and I"m just... not...
Do you have a link to the preview?
They're going to do something horrible like kill Bronn aren't they? :colbert:
Idk it's like, i just don't care about dorne. They've done a horrible job introducing it this season and we're already halfway done with the season.
We've had just two scenes with the Dornish in five episodes. Not nearly enough to make anyone care. Like, Areo Hotah, why even bother? Badass looking guy in an awesome costume with a sick weapon, when all he's done is be like "hello no you can't see the prince okay now maybe you can" and that's it. I guarantee 100% of pure show watchers have no smurfing clue who I am even talking about.
YES A GIRL IS READY
I DON'T KNOW, I STILL LIKE DORNE, GUESS I'M IN THE MINORITY
OLENNA IS MOTHERSMURFING BACK
SANSA BATH
What do you like about Dorne?
Scenes so far in Dorne:
Angry lady at guy in chair overlooking lannister girl.
Jaime and Bronn land there and meet some people being all "who are you?"
Sand snakes and angry lady kill a guy who's head is sticking out cause, ya know, a kill people with info thing.
The end.
Jon was a smurfing badass this episode. Calls Tormund a pussy basically. Tormund's like easy for you to say when I'm in chains and when I get out of them I'd beat the ever living trout out of you. So jon, ballsy ass Jon snow, removes Tormund's chains. Alpha as smurf.
All this after the alpha speech by Aemon. KILL THE BOY.KILL HARRY POTTER.Be a man. Loved it.
Other scenes I liked:
Loled when the dude Dany imprisoned and almost made dragon kibble, is now released and is to marry her. hahahaha :D
Stannis the Grammatically Correctis.
Scene going to black as Tyrion submerges. Swear to god I was shaking my head and cursing if "directed by blah blah" showed up after that long pause. Bastards, magneficent bastards.
Great episode. I loved how focused it was.
Almost joined team grammarStannis. Bastard almost got me. Still think he's going to die a horrible death and none of his plans come to fruition.
Loved last couple minutes, from the moment Drogon flies over. Fake fadeout was sweet BS.
For the life of me, I can't figure out where they're going with these changes to the Tyrion story, though. I mean, I'm fine with it, I just don't know what purpose it carries. Seems like a significant departure to me.
I must've missed the Grammar Stannis part. What happened?
Here's the scene jinx
Grammar Stannis is pretty great.
I was so afraid the credits were going to roll when Tyrion was underwater.
I wish the credits would have rolled during Tyrion's submarine cosplay. You guys had to wait in shocked numbness for two whole seconds to see he came out okay. Book readers had to wait for several chapters before turning the last page of one to see the glorious title of Tyrion on the next (unless you flipped through the pages of the book to see if there were any more, which I didn't).
You think that's bad Book Spoils!what about Jon bloody Snow?! I wonder if they'll end the season on it.
He did the fewer thing before to Davos on their way to blackwater. He just can't stand less being used over fewer!
King Stannis, First of his name, Lord of men, Corrector of Grammar.
I noticed that both Stannis and Roose got to have the, "You're my son/daughter" talk with their kid before the big battle.
Somebody's getting axed.
im rooting for Stannis now. especially after that scene with his daughter.
his cause seems just, and last week he has shown that he Does have a heart after all!
he is not completely focused on getting the Iron Throne but is also concerned with the North.
as for Sansa, im very curious about what will happen. she is about to marry Joffrey#2.
i will be so sad if they kill of Ramsay. he is another one you just like to hate :3
If we're choosing between Ramsay and Shireen I think it's more likely they kill off Shireen, because everyone loves her and GoT is basically the reason why we can't have nice things.
thehehe funny!!

That whole recap is golden but this made me burst out laughing because it's such an accurate summary:

The Viserys shout out and writers joke killed me.
Also, can I just say how much I appreciate Gilly's acting? I never really thought about it until this episode but she's perfect for the role.
The best:

I just want to say that it was really cool to see Valyria. Even if it was for a very brief moment, and at the very edge of it.
I agree. Much less disjointed than the other episodes. The Wall stuff has been the best of the season. That scene with Grey Worm was the worst ever though.
Too much is happening outside of Westeros. Why does Dany even care all that much about Meereen? If she's using it as a test to see if she can rule then she's failing it miserably. However, there has never been a better time to strike Westeros with Tywin dead, the South at odds with the Lannisters, and the North having to deal with Stannis and Bolton. She'd rip them apart right now.
I actually just read the chapter in Storm of Swords today when she decides to stay in Meereen. Basically Astapor and Yunkai when to trout when she left, so she decides to stay in Meereen to make sure the freed slaves are treated okay. (And in the books her dragons are still kind of small and she doesn't have all the ships she needs yet anyways).
Yeah I read up to that point in ASoS as well and it did make some sense up to that point. However, she doesn't seem to have an end game in Meereen. So she makes sure the slaves are ok until when exactly and then what happens after that? Also, we seem to be past ASoS in the show now that Tywin is dead and several other things I didn't read are happening. With the books I get the feeling that part of her is scared to go over to Westeros and that, deep down, she doesn't really want to rule it, and that also keeps her from leaving. I don't get any of that from the show Dany. This Dany seems to really want to rule but chooses this random place to do it with no real plan at all. I can't figure out what motivates her actions which makes them infuriating since they are often stupid decisions.
Also I wonder why they grew the dragons up quicker in the show? I also remember reading that they are smaller at this point. These are clearly grown up dragons ready to chew up some Lannisters (and Tyrells I guess). Also her Unsullied are getting softer by the day. Strike now while you can!
I agree!
And yeah, I really do think (both from a book and show perspective) that she doesn't REALLY want to go to Westeros. It's just greener pastures at this point.
The show dragons are definitely book 5 size by now and Tyrion going to meet her is also book 5 stuff if I remember correctly, whereas some parts of book 3 have yet to play out (and I can think of one or two of those things that I have a hard time believing they'd leave out). Other stories are on the verge of book 6 territory. They're definitely shifting the timelines around a bit. So far it's working out well enough, but it'll be interesting to see how they start tying things together.
Yeah, the timelines are majorly shifted. But so far it's made sense enough, so it doesn't bother me too much.
I used to be a crazy book burner about the show, but now I've come to accept they're separate entities and view the books more as supplemental info that gives me more insight into what's going on. There are SOME things I'd rather they left in the show or went by the books, but oh well.
It's kind of like how True Blood as a show is waaaaaaaaaay better than True Blood as a book series. They're different things, even though they're based in similar stories.
