Without further ado, here is my take on the contestants this year.
It doesn't surprise me that Avarice-ness has made the cut this year, because she's become more than friendly with Azar. We all know how much most staff members enjoy further justification of their over-inflated egos, and Azar is no exception. Avarice-ness has found her way into his narcissistic heart. However sincere Avarice-ness' friendship may be, the fact remains that Azar is popular among his colleagues and will have much push in deciding her inclusion among them.
Bert has hung around long enough to be a prime contestant, since the hierarchy of forums is based on a member's longevity, as irrelevant as that qualification is. In fact, this is true even more so at Eoff, where, despite the warm welcomes, there lurks a curious ignorance and even hatred of new members, as seen by how many are rarely nominated at Ciddies time and are banned respectively. Like many long time members, Bert has also conformed to the overwhelming bitterness of most veterans, which the staff in particular embody perfectly. In fact, one would argue that bitterness also contributes to general dislike of newbies. It all fits together perfectly for a beaming staff eligibility.
Captain Maxx Power succeeds at being generally angry and frustrated at people with "immature" problems, within the questionable extents of the anti-flaming rule. Since many staff members take even further liberties at extending the limits of that rule, and openly display temper tantrums whenever the mere mention of a misunderstanding of proper forum protocol arises, Maxx should fit in well.
I honestly don't know why Cz was nominated. Don't get me wrong, the man has been a beacon to uncertain members of how to follow the rules, just like many people who richly deserve to be in the staff, but lose out to those more cynical and depraved in general.
DK has been working hard at EOY's for a long time, and shows great pleasure in allowing staff members who've had five previous entries to post yet another hardly different insight into how little their lives have improved or even changed, instead of letting some newbie who needs some recognition try his hand at one for the first time. This open staff favoritism obviously will earn him a page or two in the staff's "good" books.
edczxcvbnm is, well, popular. Once again, this is largely due to longevity, but if many members show interest in another, the staff take notice. Loony Bob himself attested to the fact that popularity plays a part in any decision to join the staff, and despite the fact that many underappreciated members would do even better than the popular ones, if you're not new and with it, you're not good enough to be in the staff, or so they say.
Goldenboko absolutely loves supporting the staff's most questionable decisions in the hopes of gaining recognition, and he himself has admitted shamelessly that he's "sucking up" to them. I think we all have seen how much that tactic has worked in the past.
I'm my own MILF manages to display contempt for anyone he perceives is below his intelligence in an oddly polite and restrained manner, a trait quite common to many staff members (except for the polite part).
Jess appears to flirt with staff members on a regular basis. Need I say more? No, but I will. She also enjoys any motif normally soaked in estrogen, like flowers, ranibows, and Disney films, more than any healthy woman should, just like every female staff member. Yes, even Shlupquack.
Kirobaito has increased his preachy, holier than thou stance more and more lately. Any staff member would be proud.
Renmiri is just such a kind and wonderful person that anyone would want her on any forum staff, even people who really don't hold such qualities themselves.
Seriously, who doesn't like Rye?
(Well probably lots of people, but staff members aren't among them.)
Ah Tavrobel. Apparently quite the little rule-breaker back in the day (suspiciously similar to someone else on the staff), Tavrobel has since cleaned up his act. This is important, because the staff like someone who conforms to their very specific ideals on the perfect member, but also who can become corrupt and hypocritical later on just like the rest of them.
These last few members I really don't know very well, so I apologize for not including them, and if I weren't on a tight schedule due to the fact that the Result thread will be coming soon, I would read a lot of their posts to say something relevant. :) Rest assured, I'm positive they have a really good reason to be nominated! :)
