I don't think this is correct, but just to get the ball rolling I'll go with the GP salesman:
For those in a hurry (quick way to get GP rather than having to earn it)
Please pay a visit (obvious enough)
But if you don't see (The italics worried me, though you can't see him when he isn't there, quite rare for someone to disappear in FFVII)
What you want (Him/GP)
Then go away and
Come back later (He spawns randomly (I think), so if you leave and come back he eventually will turn up)
Oh, and thanks... I think... I was aware of the riddle you're talking about, but didn't follow it so I don't know what happened with it :)
-
It went on for, what was it, 30 pages? Then it got it's own thread and continued for another x pages. The sad thing was that the answer wasn't "guessed" as such but rather a passing mention which was confirmed by Thingfish.
-
I've heard tales of that one. Never saw it, myself. I always wondered if it was just some randomly elaborate and vague concoction, or if it was all logically connected and graspable. Anyone have a link? I've never played FF9 so I won't get it, probably, but sometimes you can get a sense of these things even when you haven't played the game.
-
It's not the GP seller, but you're correct that the italics are significant.
Here's the thread for the Riddle of Doom.
-
Again, pretty sure I'm wrong, but fishing for ideas... Lucrecia's cave?
For those in a hurry (You get Death Penalty and Chaos, either could tenuously relate to a hurry, also both make you stronger which would speed you up)
Please pay a visit (Literal)
But if you don't see
What you want (Lucrecia only appears to Vincent, again one of the few places where something disappears...)
Then go away and
Come back later (... and the items only appear once you've left and fought battles before returning)
I have a feeling that "see" is referring to something that can be interacted with whilst invisible, or at least where vision is more relevant than what I've come up with, but I'm taking shots here :)
I checked out Thingfish's riddle thread. Impressively worked, but I really hate obscure answers. I don't like the idea that I'm trying to solve a riddle when theres a high possibility that I have never heard of the solution.
-
It's not Lucretia's cave.
Maybe I should have used quotes for 'see'.
-
is it the guy in the mithril cave? the 'see' bit could be referring to seeing the correct number of battles in the text box to obtain a prize.
-
It's not the Mythril Cave.
-
Back room of Cosmo Canyon General Store, don't think its this but it was worth a shot :D theres a rope that blocks the way before septhiroth summons the meteor so you have to come back to it at disc 4 inside the room there is an Elixer, Full Cure Materia and a Magic source
-
Good guess. But not the answer.
(SPOILER)See is a pun.
-
is it obtaining the contain materia from the white chocobo in mideel? u can try first time but it doesn't always work, so u hav to return later
-
It's not the White Chocobo/Contain materia quest.
-
Um, sorry, I know I've been gone for a long time.
But isn't it the Chocobo Sage?
think about it...
For those in a hurry
Please pay a visit.....he's out in the middle of nowhere, says likes visitors.
But if you don't see
What you want
Then go away and
Come back later.......He often forgets the info you want so you can make a golden chocobo. The only way to solve this is to leave and come back later.
Makes sense to me...
-
is it the guy in the white house near gold saucer? if you go there too early in the game he's just not there and u have to return to get the keystone and great gospel
-
Is it some kind of weapons salesman in a town?
