I'm not even going to bite the 'Welsh Xavi' bait. Joe Allen is better than Xavi. In fact, he's the most talented and skilful DM Europe has ever seen.
Joe Allen is trout and you smurfing mugged us you bastards. :colbert:
I disagree with both parts of your argument. :colbert:
But the point I'll talk about is that Suarez plays as a lone striker. Van Persie plays with Rooney/Hernandez up front where (you would think) the goals will be shared between them for the season. Its the reason why Van Persie has 9 assists this season and not more goals. Same with Ba with Cisse (although Cisse is awful this season).
Theo was recently put into the central striker role and now he is banging them in for Arsenal. Same with Michu for Swansea (who have a worse midfield than yours). My point is that when you have a lone striker, everything is filtered through that striker. I'm not saying Suarez is bad by any means, he's world class but I've seen him play a lot and he is not the finished article, particularly when it comes to finishing. 15 EPL goals is great though so maybe I am talking troute. But best in the EPL? Not even in the top 4. I wonder what he would be like in a kind of Hazard role though?
Oh and, Liverpool do not have a bad midfield. Allen didn't work out for you nor did Henderson, but Gerrard has been in great form of late and Sterling has done a fine job all season. Dare I say it, but even Downing has been looking decent lately. :|
So, Joe Cole isn't that trout after all.
What about Andy Carroll?
He's still trout.
The FA Cup could yet see us win something this season...oh no wait, we're going out tomorrow.
Ah... Van Persie. Where would we be without you?
Not in the FA Cup, that's for sure. Although then again, who knows how things would have been in the final minutes with Hernandez still on? Anything can happen with United, it seems.
So now we have to play Arsenal again, Chelsea twice in the League Cup, as well as Brighton if we do go through, all on top of PL games, all before the end of January. I've got a feeling something is about to go south in a major way, and I think it'll be our league position.
in b4 psychotic and 'oh that luis is such a little scamp isnt he oh well'
*shrugs* Everyone's getting on their high horse about Suarez but the officials were useless for not spotting it to start with.
He didn't cheat. It was a total accident that the ball hit his hand because it's impossible for a Liverpool player to cheat. Didn't you know?
There. Feel free to post a bunch of gifs and amusing variations on the word LOLVERPOOL (liverplol?) in response to this post and we can all move on.
Liverplol sounds like a condition you'd never want your doctor to diagnose in you.
As we've already been knocked out of the ahem Mickey Mouse Cup (ah, I didn't miss my opportunity) I'd like to think we'll be fine against Cheltenham, but then I've seen us knocked out of a cup competition by Shrewsbury bloody Town, so I'll refrain from getting ahead of myself.
